From our research, the term "ladyboy" is a popular term used to describe transgender women in Thailand. Here at Asian Boss, we strive to provide the most authentic insight from Asia and in doing so, won't impose Western ideals of political correctness on terms that many locals, including our interviewee, don't find offensive.
It's a very vocal minority that actually cares about political correctness, the ones who send complaints and try to get your socially punished, the vast majority of people don't agree. Don't worry about it.
thank you for saying this. i knew it was a matter of time before some westerner was going to inject their verbiage into this presentation and call ladyboy a misgendering term
I complained about it in the last video but I did say that I wasn't pointing fingers because I know it's just a language issue, and languages can differ of course. If thai transgender people feel comfortable with the thai term for ladyboy, or the english term, then it's completely okay to use it and even more so for accuracy in the representation of the interview. As a person who loved languages, I understand that some term that is offensive on the west can be non-offensive in other parts of the world, so yeah. But I still think it's important to note that it is like that, just to clarify that you guys (Asian Boss channel) aren't just being rude and going by international standards (since subs are in english and it can be confusing) calling people offensive terms, but instead just using the most accurate translation without leaving the authenticity behind.
"It's not like I wanted to be one, I was already one." Right on. First of all, I want to say that I'm so happy she had family support for the most part. This goes to show how transgender people can live happily as long as their communities are supportive and especially families, so we all need to start to treat others with compassion no matter how different they are. How great would the world be if we were more considerate to one another despite our differences? Aside from that, it's great to see that she's a successful young woman despite being trans. Trans people often times rely on jobs that they don't want just because there's not really a place in society where they can actually work and be valued as human beings sometimes, so they end up working as whatever they can get. But yeah, it looks like she's pretty well off with his business and I'm very happy for her. I just hope this helps to open people's minds and also to show that transgender people are not the issue, the issue is that the society isn't used to them, but if they just open their hearts and let them in then they will be indeed happy people that can be a positive influence in everyone's life.

What is the most interesting to me is it seems in Thailand they accept transgenders as a 3rd sex and not as a woman or man. I kind of like that concept. In the US lots of people tend to say straight up 100% the person is the gender they transferred to. But it's impossible when born as a sex biologically to get rid of all traces and be the other one. I don't know. I could be wrong. But I do want all transgender people to feel comfortable in their own skin and be accepted by society no matter why they feel like the opposite sex or why they are the way they are.
Transgender people in Thailand and elsewhere have a diversity of opinion on the topic. It surely doesn't help that in Thailand one can't legally change one's gender the way one can in much of the west. It surely doesn't help trans women identify as women when your own ID card betrays you.
@@exnihilo415 I think that not being able to change it legally is a problem. But I don't think their idea of thinking is completely wrong. When you take into account gender fluidity and all the different ways people feel, I think that transgender people are very diverse in how they feel about every aspect of their sexuality, sex, gender. I think it's something that's more fluid and there's no one answer or case. So I think the US's and Thailand's concepts are both right.

@@exnihilo415 In case you misunderstood I don't think that not being able to change your ID in Thailand is right, but looking at transgenders as a 3rd gender is not particulary wrong.
Good, it should be that way :). If it is not offensive then use the term, and vice versa.
Don't let the vocal minority scare you off. Western ideals are not the end all be all.
Aside from that, it's great to see that she's a successful young woman despite being trans. Trans people often times rely on jobs that they don't want just because there's not really a place in society where they can actually work and be valued as human beings sometimes, so they end up working as whatever they can get. @@exnihilo415 I'm sorry if I seem rude, but I'm curious about it. And if you don't mind answering this... Did your wife also have sex reassignment surgery? Can she also have the orgasm that women experience... Did she ever tell you?
And do your family, friend & neighbor know and accept her for what she is... and don't think that you're weird for willing to marry a transgender? How do you convince them?
I hope you both have a happy life like other married couples.
What a forgiving person :) she talks about her biological father and is so kind, despite the fact that he treated her and her mom badly. I wish her all the best with her studies and future. :)
He treated them badly?!
The father was a victim of fraud - perpetrated by the mother-criminal (she took money under the guise of taking it to perform an abortion, never returned it, and didn't have an abortion [fraud]).
Then, 22 he gets to know his son!
Society should reproach the criminals, not the innocent and the victims of crimes!
This is the best interview on the subject of transgender women in Thailand I have ever seen, not only the interviewer but also the interviewee. It makes a change to meet an educated and articulate person rather than the typical stereotype bar girl sex worker , this young person had a supportive family who wanted the best for their child, I wish her all the happiness she rightly deserves
She seems very sweet and kind. I hope she will have perpetual merriment in her life. ❤
I love the language and accent. And the people there are so attractive.
yes thai japan korea r attractive ppl . asian best

@@pandaonsteroids5154 My wife is a Thai trans woman. We live in the US now. She was very anxious and proud to change her ID and passport to be female in the US but still can't in Thailand. I know very few Thai trans women in the US that don't change their legal ID in the US when they have the opportunity to do so.
@@exnihilo415 In case you misunderstood I don't think that not being able to change your ID in Thailand is right, but looking at transgenders as a 3rd gender is not particulary wrong. Of course a transgender man is the most close to a man and should be identified if they wish it to be that way and vice versa. Glad your wife could do that though.
@@pandaonsteroids5154 There is also a long cultural history of a 3rd gender social role in South Asia and SE Asia going back centuries. Hijra in India. Hhwaja sira in Pakistan, etc. Europe and it's colonies didn't have this tradition so it's consequently less common although surely gender nonbinary people do exist, and these folks are asserting their identity as is their right to do so.
This was greatly educational, emotional and convinced me anyone who undergoes this complex, expensive and physically challenging surgery has undergone an enormous transformation. I wish this transgender person all the best in the future and compliament them on their determination, mental strength, and intelligence. What they have accomplished in the last 20 years is incredible. I admire them greatly. A excellent interview, the interviewer is a real professional. Please stay safe and good luck throughout this uncertain future.
Thank you to Asian Boss channel to professionally interview and allow others to understand more about trans women.
I was raise in a Christian family which if they saw a person be a transgender they will say it’s a sin but since I was bullied verbally because i act like a boy since j was a kid i can understand these transgender people. I understand that all they want was to be themselves and be accepted by the community. To be honest i find that LGBTQ community inspired me way more than normal people. And also when people around me calling me names and tell me I’m weird, my gay friends who accepted me and tell me it’s okey to feel hurt because we are all human. And as a Christian I believe that God love them as much as God love other normal people. Because I believe only God knows what’s truly know about them. We humans can only assume and judge based on what we see and what we hear. Even we can understand them no one else can understand better than God. I know in Bible say about gay people are sinner but also in Bible say that no human knows what’s in God’s mind.
And I’m not American, I’m Asian and from a country where transgender is forbidden. Sad to see this happen here. Btw I’m a married women who act like a dude and even my husband sometimes tease me by calling me Bro 😆
How would you know? Did he tell you Specifically?Or did you just assume it to be true? And Please Dont Quote the Bible. It was not written by him.
God doesnt exist.
Nice comment! 😊

Timothy Han hello. I read in the bible and I don’t assume because I believe in what i read in the bible. I hope this answer your question. Thank you for responding to my comments 😊
Such a calm, level-headed person even after going to through so much pain. I wish her the very best.
This is most raw and honest video I've seen about this aspect of Thailand. I salute you for having the courage to make it and treating the subject with honesty and respect.
Your interviewee strikes me as a very courageous and good person. She's merely trying to live her life the best she can. I sincerely wish her well.
her earrings are so cute omg i can’t stop looking at them lmao
I am 50% thai and 50% italian and this makes me proud ❤☺
KxS oddio anche io lol
How does that math work?
I am 50% Pakistani and 50% Chinese and this makes me proud too😎
Your mom is thai? 😕
KxS always be proud and humble...I’m sure you are wonderful on your own and don’t need other people or things to justify your innate sense of self :)
You can literally tell that she is not only beautiful on the outside but on the inside as well.
i'm honestly so surprised at how positive & encouraging the comments are, wow.
Same, Same!! It's Awesome, isn't it! ;)
Honest interview.. ths is my first time that i think transwoman is really humble, telling 100% truth. Her personality, we should respect her the way she is. This kind of vibe, will never neglected bcs it's positive.
I agree. Also the interviewer is polite and respectful when asking questions
I like her style. Sauce is very honest and has worked hard to become what she is today. This is definitely a personal success story.
Its not a compliment to say:
"yOu dOn'T lOoK TrAnS"
true
Depends what you are going for.
Thank you for writing this.
Lool. Hilarious. Some are so obviously men while others do well to hide that theyre men.
Oh OK, next time I'll say you still look like a man 👍 is that better?
Absolut beauty. She looks like so nice person. How someone can make bad judgment? I love Thailand and Thai people for the opening and respect to transgenders better than any country.
She is such a classy, elegant & stunning woman. Not only that, but she is such an inspirational woman! She is the definition of a boss. Having a cosmetics & fashion brand is not easy, so I give her props for that. And btw, I love her heart earrings.💕
I can feel the pain in her voice when she talks about her father. It is sad someone misses his child's childhood😢. Congrats for the interview done in a very professional and compassionate way, also congrats for her honest response 👏👏👏👏
Don't you mean " Him ".. It's a man in reality.... Just because a man can play dress up as a woman. Really doesn't make them a woman.
She is so pretty, she is hard working and strong in her choice. I love her personally. Keep up
Even when younger, she was beautiful still.
Yeh everyone is beautiful. Even the most "ugly" people.
Yerris you really hate trans people don’t you
Sauce just minding her own business and share her own experience about her life as a transgender in Thailand. I don’t know why some ppl get offended so easy just because she was born as a male and got a changing-sex job. I’m so fed up with the commenter who judge hers as a sinner to be ladyboy. She didn’t hurt anyone but you call her a sinner whereas you’re judging and insulting to others, who suppose to be a real sinner? Some ppl also claim her that she got a mental disorder or something delusional, I don’t see anything wrong with her, it’s her life, she can do whatever she want as long as it’s not illegal or harm for anyone. I think the one who always love to judge and look down on the others is actually the one who should be fixed.
She’s absolutely beautiful. I’m glad she has a decent job and doesn’t have to sell sex like many trans girls in Thailand.
You are beautiful (inside and out), and I wish you all of the best in life. Thank you for telling your story.
What we take for granted, hw painful's it a transition to become the gender of one's heart...
Looking at her, wouldn't hve guessed..she's so beautiful...
Sushi R. Thank you, have a nice day
Both the person conducting the interview, Marie, and Sauce, the transgender woman, were frank and honest. Interesting and well-done.
I don't understand how one can hate people who just want to live their truth, its not like they're hurting anybody.
So genuine and beautiful; and also, the interviewer. This video makes you think of the person within and break away from the stereotype that misrepresents the truth.
she's one of those women where you almost can't believe how pretty she is, and her personality is beautiful too. i'm very impressed by this interview
It’s so sad what she had to go through. She’s an amazing woman.
she is a transgender and not a woman she already accepted it why do you insist that she is a woman
@@n4gauge transgender isn't another gender, a trans women is a women, transgender is an adjective btw :)
Wow, I’m just Astonished at the power this individual has, how articulate taking the time to create a world that suites themselve. I love the way they showcase that this wasn’t a choice; but even if the surgeries didn’t happen they would still be the same person. I’m happy to see positivity and strength flow within you. I hope that others including myself can channel those attributes.
I don’t usually watch this type of documentary and I don’t know why TH-cam put this on my recommended documentaries to watch lol
But I have to admit that even though I am absolutely not pro lgbt etc I am very impressed by this person and how honest the experience is being told.

@Gins George As if this person cares about your opinion about it???
Such an interesting interview 👏🏻
She’s very pretty and successful omg
I love the fact that Thai people is more tolerant and the most important thing for them is to be free. Definitely I have to visit Thailand! 💕
In Thai, 'Thailand' means 'Land of the Free'
Yes you must visit Thailand, i went there and absolutely will comeback. Great country, great people, great food. But please don't like other people who go to Thailand just for red district, Thailand is more than that.
Hope you enjoy 🇹🇭❤️💓
Thailand welcome you always 🙏🏻
