You are absolutely right about Dimash's approach to his cover songs - sensitive and respectful to the original. I see this as reflected in the entire production , the vocals, the backing vocals, the musical arrangement, scenery and props seem always to be on point. Another Celione Dion song, "All By Myself" shows him giving it the full Dimash treatment including some audience sing along-and that one will blow you up too! Loved your reaction to this one. Yes, the music experts can analyse but the sheer emotional content of all Dimash performances can be enjoyed and appreciated whatever language he sings in, which is about 14, I think! He is opera to rap and much in between and therefore appealing to most musical tastes and all generations. What a man! handsome, too!

I am an 81 year old retired musician/singer/performer/vocal coach, and I can tell you that the lower register and very soft voice singing is mmore difficult than the other-worldly upper register acroatics that Dimash does. His lower registerg/quiet singing requires tremendous vocal control which Dimash demonstrates throughout his wide vocal range.

Personally I prefer his own songs to covers. He actually sounds best when singing in his native language. A music lover all my life I’ve never strayed beyond the obvious western style of music. But, when I listen to this song performed by Dimash, it pierces my heart. His voice directly targets my soul and my heart, and I can listen to a Dimash song hundreds times, the result is the same... Of course, he is incredibly talented, he has the full package, the voice, the stage presence, the emotion, and I also love his personality, so bright, so deep, so beautiful, but beyond these facts, this man is something else, beyond rational explanation: this is probably why I saw so different reactors (metal, rap, pop etc.) totally moved by him, even crying when listening to him. Very good observations! This was a film festival during which they did the 25th anniversary tribute to the film "Titanic". Dimash was honored to be asked to sing the iconic theme song. "Titanic" is his favorite film, James Cameron is his favorite director, Celine Dion is one of his favorite singers, and the song's producers were in the audience. There was no way Dimash would do anything but respect the original song.

You’re still at the beginning of your journey believe it or not- he has many great covers & originals, but might be coming near the end of the covers you’ll recognize. Definitely must do All By Myself- there are many beloved versions from his concerts that you must see eventually but for me the Singer competition is the 1 to see first. He’s really having fun in that one 😂 Many covers like Sinful Passion from New Wave 2021 (which up until recently was the 2nd most requested song of his, you’ll be blown away), & Love Is Like a Dream (look for him in a burgundy suit, you’ll love his low tones in this)- they are covers of Russian songs. He’s got covers of Chinese, Japanese, Ukrainian, Kazakh folk songs, & many more. You’ll get there eventually! Exactly! 😊 We all know what he can do, and while high belting and runs are impressive, he doesn‘t use them throughout every song, like other singers. All artists know, that the pauses/ the spaces/ the slow parts are just as important as the loud/ colorful/ action-filled parts. The special part can only be special, when it is surrounded by enough space to let it shine. That is what I love about Dimash the most. He is the master of dynamics! His songs build in waves. They swell and slow down and then pick up again. Some other singers also have beautiful voices and marvelous technique, but they often sing to show off their skills and don‘t realize what the song needs. Non-stop action becomes boring after a while. Also: Every register Dimash sings in sounds beautiful and he has great taste and knows which approach is best at different parts of the song! I love his Kazakh songs too! I have to say that Dimash makes his own language (and all others too) sound much more melodic than other singers. I listened to other Kazakh singers, and the language sounded harsher.

If I Never Breathe shows the control of breath he has and is very tender but to each his own so you have to hear to decide.
I checked your playlist and I did not see, as far as covers, Autumn Strong, All By Myself, both from The Singer 2017, Ikanaide ( a Japanese cover of singer Koji Tamaki & the Japanese version of Autumn Strong, and another cover of Lara Fabian, Mademoiselle Hyde. These are the only four covers I can think of at this time. Oops, I almost forgot "Daybreak". For this last one and "Ikanaide:, you should go to Gloria Wu's channel to get the backstory for these two songs. Dimash can anyone's song and make it his own forever. I forgot that "All By Myself" was a Celine Dion song also, but her's was a cover of Eric Camen who wrote and sang the song originally. Eric Carmen wrote this song in 1975.

Dimash probably didn't feel that much improvement could be made to this song as he's great friends with the composer Walter Afanasieff. While he's been living in Los Angeles he's been working with Walter and completing a song that they both started working on before the pandemic and a lot of his Instagram posts have been from Walter's studio or home.

Thanks for your reaction!! To be honest, I don't like Celine Dion, she is obviously very talented but her music does not move me, I don't feel anything. But, when I listen to this song performed by Dimash, it pierces my heart. His voice directly targets my soul and my heart, and I can listen to a Dimash song hundreds times, the result is the same... Of course, he is incredibly talented, he has the full package, the voice, the stage presence, the emotion, and I also love his personality, so bright, so deep, so beautiful, but beyond these facts, this man is something else, beyond rational explanation: this is probably why I saw so different reactors (metal, rap, pop etc.) totally moved by him, even crying when listening to him. Dimash is a gift to this world.

Very good observations! This was a film festival during which they did the 25th anniversary tribute to the film "Titanic". Dimash was honored to be asked to sing the iconic theme song. "Titanic" is his favorite film, James Cameron is his favorite director, Celine Dion is one of his favorite singers, and the song's producers were in the audience. There was no way Dimash would do anything but respect the original song.
Respectful was also the word that came to mind. Beautifully done. ❤

You’re still at the beginning of your journey believe it or not- he has many great covers & originals, but might be coming near the end of the covers you’ll recognize. Definitely must do All By Myself- there are many beloved versions from his concerts that you must see eventually but for me the Singer competition is the 1 to see first. He’s really having fun in that one 😂 Many covers like Sinful Passion from New Wave 2021 (which up until recently was the 2nd most requested song of his, you’ll be blown away), & Love Is Like a Dream (look for him in a burgundy suit, you’ll love his low tones in this)- they are covers of Russian songs. He’s got covers of Chinese, Japanese, Ukrainian, Kazakh folk songs, & many more. You’ll get there eventually! And you still need to see Drunken Concubine with Diva Dance he does as a duet with a Chinese Opera singer.

We all know what he can do, and while high belting and runs are impressive, he doesn‘t use them throughout every song, like other singers.
All artists know, that the pauses/ the spaces/ the slow parts are just as important as the loud/ colorful/ action-filled parts. The special part can only be special, when it is surrounded by enough space to let it shine.
That is what I love about Dimash the most. He is the master of dynamics! His songs build in waves. They swell and slow down and then pick up again. Some other singers also have beautiful voices and marvelous technique, but they often sing to show off their skills and don‘t realize what the song needs. Non-stop action becomes boring after a while.
Also: Every register Dimash sings in sounds beautiful and he has great taste and knows which approach is best at different parts of the song!
(By the way: I really didn’t like the song before I heard him sing it. But when he sings it - I listen ❤)

I love his Kazakh songs too! I have to say that Dimash makes his own language (and all others too) sound much more melodic than other singers. I listened to other Kazakh singers, and the language sounded harsher.
You said that you enjoyed Dimash singing in a deeper voice, well just you wait till you watch his Spanish song called El amor en ti. That's incredible. He sang it at his Almaty concert in Kazakhstan. I know you will enjoy it.

@@JustMyOpinion1010 Oh I absolutely love him doing Go Go Power Rangers, he looks like he's having so much fun and he like most young kids probably loved Power Rangers, the men I watch reacting to this one get excited and nostalgic when hearing it, it also shows the power of his metal voice. If I Never Breathe shows the control of breath he has and is very tender but to each his own so you have to hear to decide.
I checked your playlist and I did not see, as far as covers, Autumn Strong, All By Myself, both from The Singer 2017, Ikanaide ( a Japanese cover of singer Koji Tamaki & the Japanese version of Autumn Strong, and another cover of Lara Fabian, Mademoiselle Hyde. These are the only four covers I can think of at this time. Oops, I almost forgot "Daybreak". For this last one and "Ikanaide:, you should go to Gloria Wu's channel to get the backstory for these two songs. Dimash can anyone's song and make it his own forever. I forgot that "All By Myself" was a Celine Dion song also, but her's was a cover of Eric Camen who wrote and sang the song originally. Eric Carmen wrote this song in 1975.

backstory to his covers is that after SINGER competition he became famous overinght and stayed in china for a long time doing alot of stuff, singing many many different songs on chinese TV
Dimash probably didn't feel that much improvement could be made to this song as he's great friends with the composer Walter Afanasieff. While he's been living in Los Angeles he's been working with Walter and completing a song that they both started working on before the pandemic and a lot of his Instagram posts have been from Walter's studio or home.
