      I was watching the Beatles "Get Back" documentary. The Beatles, their immediate entourage, manger, anyone close to them all worse over-the-top stereotypical late 1960s attire. The crew and any general public that happened to be in the shot just wore jeans and a t-shirt or a collared white shirt and dress pants. I thought to myself each decade must be like that most people just wear practical clothes but the fashionistas are the ones who want to stick out on purpose.

Bc of inequality! Derp. So y don't u keep giving yourself a pat on the back for shit other people did 60 years ago.

      +Junior Women were at home keeping it together because they weren't allowed to be in the military, you delusional fuck. Women were fighting their own kind of war in the home front so when the boys came back, things weren't upside down!

    • @MyJunior09
      @MyJunior09 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      ***** "they were not allowed" I don´t know if I laugh or cringe for you... Did you ever heard a woman called JOAN OF ARC?
      ARTEMISIA I OF CARIA?
      ZENOBIA?
      These are women who wanted to fight and fighted... In times of war nobody ever gave a fuck on your gender unless you were a male... Please don´t play the stupid one, it is like saying, I did not cleaned up the all shittied toilet because nobody asked me...
      " Women were fighting their own kind of war "
      Really? I mean I would fucking love if my woman worked all day and I spend the day in home taking care of my daughter and son, and do some dinner, and after that when my woman arrive from work we fuck, and if we don´t, I cheat her because she is not satisfying my "emotional needs"...
      And I am the delusional one... Women have the right to property since medieval age in a lot of cultures... Women did not worked simply because they did not wanted... They only started to working after second world war to raise the productions...
      As a matter of fact, the only women working since before of that were usually women who the husband died...
      So please, keep talking...

    • @mankrikswifey
      @mankrikswifey 9 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Junior Correct me, but I believe we're talking about the World Wars and onwards? You specifically mentioned late 20th century conflicts, I replied with an answer specific and contextual to your comment of WWI, WWII, and proxy Cold War conflicts where women's role has not been traditionally on the frontline. This does not mean they played NO PART in said conflicts.
      Your first comment implied that women were seemingly spoiled and sought to actively avoid warfare and simply "didn't want to" I called out your clear ignorance or neglect of the clearly LEGAL exclusion of women from combat. I do have to mention that I said they weren't allowed to be in the military - because what I meant was direct combat, front line fighting.
      Australia has only decided to allow women in combat/front line in the next year or so, with the British mentioning of a lift on the BAN of women serving in DIRECT COMBAT only two years ago or so with absolutely no further progress. These are down to a handful of reasons from psychology, physiology, and tradition - so don't blame us and call women out for "simply not wanting to" when these guidelines and understandings of why women shouldn't fight alongside men have been outlined by men themselves.
      By "them fighting their own war" implied the already mentioned munitions factories, nursing, office jobs, Women's (Royal) Voluntary Service in the UK, and largely the war on the home front when only in WWII civilians were directly targeted. They did this and only jobs to such extent because that's how much they were able and allowed to do. And they didn't only go to work only after their husbands died - I did my a year's research on war on the British home front so don't patronise and think I know absolutely nothing about this matter. Women's reaction to being able to work more than before the war is overwhelmingly positive and showed that they longed to be out of the home and work - so the argument that they simply choose not to is obsolete.
      How did you take my comment as excusing women's un-involvement when they simply weren't given the same opportunities as their male counterparts? I have friends in the military and they STILL think that women's place shouldn't be in direct infantry combat, agreeing instead that while their role in warfare is accepted, it should never be taking direct shots at enemies.

    This video proves that after the 90s, 21st century fashion doesn't have distinctive decades like the 20th century. The 2005 and 2015 outfits are indistinguishable to me--the only thing that dates them are the cell phones. The 2000s was the decade that clothes finally looked "normal" by my eyes. Now when I watch something made in the 2000s as "modern" it's the technology that gives away its age, not the clothes.

      I say this all the time! It's awesome that fashion changed all much so often and is so distinguishable, but since the 2000s it finally tapered off, became normalized and probably won't change much with the decades anymore.

      Glad I'm not the only who agrees...I once argued in a paper for college that there is no such thing as a "distinctively" "post-modern" style...the tendency of subcultures like normcore or hipsters to recycle style from the past for me presents an such an irony in the quest for modern self individuation in a seemingly (and perversely) monotonous world

      harrietamidala1691 I don't know about that. The 2000s was marked by a casual urban grunge style, while the 2010s style so far has been more streamlined and slightly more formal. Nowadays, you see women wearing sundresses quite often in warmer weather, while that was very unusual just 10 years ago. I think when we look back in another 10 years, we'll be able to notice more growth.

      harrietamidala1691 Sorry I have to disagree with you and everyone who agreed with you. The 2000s style was alot more low rise stuff like pants and skirts and those Juicy Couture velour tracksuits really stand out to me from that decade. And I remember lots of baggy pants on guys from that time. The 2010s are alot more skinny jeans and high waisted with the high waisted jeans and all coming back big especially among people my age (teenagers), and the whole ombre/silver/lilac hair trend is super popular for girls, while the undercut and manbun are popular for guys in this decade. And 2010s is alot more lace/floral.

      That's only because we aren't far enough in the future to see that much of a difference between the styles of 2005 and 2015...in 20 years we will see a much larger difference.
