I was very lucky that my 4K UHD copy of Invasion was priced at £17.99. I queried the price with the chap at HMV but he put it through the till at that price. Xmas bonus! I also picked up Elvira, Blakes 7 and Austin Powers.
A great blu-ray hunting video Pauly shame people don't respect the people who fought and died for us over the years I suppose that is just what people are like nowadays. Great pickups this week as well The Invasion I saw years ago might pick that one up eventually and Blake's 7 I loved that series back in the day will have to get that when it get's cheaper I think. Lovely Gladiator blu-ray steelbook as well.
My office did the two minutes silence and I turned off my radio for it, but it was easy to keep my office quiet because I was the only there and everyone else was working from home lol. Also that is a very nice looking sandwich I might have to see if my local Greggs or Co-op are doing something similar this weekend, there's no way I'm paying Costa's prices, I think that Lego is cheaper than Costa lol.
Definitely agree with you Paul, the two minutes silence MUST be observed 🫡 it was nice to see some blue sky today, it said on the news that East Sussex had 13 minutes of actual sunlight in the last 15 days 😮 that was a very good price on the Carry On set 🤑 the fourth set gets released in December 🧐 Invasion is pretty good (not a patch on the 1978 version but still enjoyable) nice one Paul, take care mate 👍😃👍
It's funny you say that the Blakes 7 boxset mimics the Dr Who one because actually the same people that make the Dr Who ones made the new Blakes 7 one - artwork, special features and everything. I think they might have plans to re-release the other Blakes 7 series on the bluray in the future.
They have said there are plans but it will rely on sales (especially pre-orders) of this first one, as the B7 DVDs didn't sell like the DW ones so I dare say they want to be sure
I got 5 movies earlier- trap 4k , delayed of sixth sense 4k, signs 4k, rules of engagement 4k kinolorber and crow 4k 2024, sugerland 4k, invasion 4k earlier arrow and a simple plan 4k arrow earlier
*Land of Bad* is DVD only in the UK but the Blu-ray is easily available from Germany, France, Italy, Spain or the Neitherlands. Our workplace had (and always does) a 2 minute silence with 'fire alarm reminders on start and stop times; there was also a gathering in silence under the flags at the main entrance for those who wanted to show more than just stopping at their desks. I do think people walking down the street have been less aware for years as they don't even notice the time so maybe that's not so upsetting without a reminder. What I find sad and worrying is the big increase in younger people saying they associate poppies with 'the far right' and 'racism' and not wearing them any more... it's a self fulfilling prophecy; if the yonger generations stop respecting the fallen (and stop helping those who have served) by not wearing poppies the more the far right will successfully take 'possession'of this symbol that the RBL is empasising, especially recently, the previously forgotten ethnicities that fought for freedom alongside or as part of the Allied Forces.
I do think in 2024 if people don’t want to do the 2 minutes silence it isn’t disrespectful personally especially if they are walking round town they probably aren’t even going to notice . Plus most the people who moan about people not doing the silence probably don’t care about Gaza or Israel or Palestine or Ukraine .
Probably also slightly disrespectful to get your phone out and film people that might've innocently forgot about it. If you're in a shop or supermarket, and you choose not to observe, then yes, that could be considered disrespectful, but you simply can't police every street corner into observing a two minute silence, and filming it on your phone certainly isn't taking the moral high ground
Actually I was already recording the high street including the Christmas huts 🛖 as part of the Blu-ray hunting but just trimmed it down to show that moment
Have to agree with you Paul. It seems to me that Gen Z are more interested in their social media an taking Gormless Selfies 🤬🤬🤬 Wasn’t Brian Cox in D Reem 🤪
Invasion is the worst version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, the previous three versions are far better, the 1956 version is a classic and is available from BFI, the 1978 version (starring Donald Sutherland, Jeff Goldblum and Leonard Nimoy) is probably the best one and available from Arrow and the 1993 version called Body Snatchers (directed by Abel Ferrara who directed Driller Killer, Ms 45, King of New York and stars Meg Tilly and Forest Whitaker) is also pretty good and is available from Warner Archive. The Blakes 7 set is great and the updated special effects using models are fantastic. The original Godzilla is a fantastic movie and the special effects for the time are great, the Japanese Godzilla movies are far better than any of the recent American versions. King of New York is definitely worth picking up.
While the later films defo become goofy and silly. The original Godzilla is amazing. You barely care about it's man in suit because the film is so good. Not sure if you saw Godzilla minus one. But if you did and liked it then Godzilla 1954 is a very similar tone

All through my working life the two minute silence was never observed. As a kid I never knew about it. Do night workers have to stop snoring at 11am or wake up. Sunday was enough for everyone.
@@stevebriffoutandabout5081 Sunday is rememberce Sunday in UK however I know armistice day is more global. That's why on Sunday the PM was in London with the leader of the opposition, the king and everyone but today he went over to France. In the USA it's veterans day
I think it's bloody RIDICULOUS the way these stores are putting out Christmas goods MONTHS before the holiday is even here! There seems to be this annoying tendency now towards wishing our lives away by looking too far ahead. The fools do the same bloody thing when they look too far ahead to Easter and summer in bloody JANUARY! As the Lena Martell song so rightly says: "ONE DAY AT A TIME." It doesn't do to look too far ahead.
For the last 3 years I’ve donated to the Royal British Legion instead. Not wearing a poppy isn’t disrespecting those that have died, and the armed forces itself. It’s just a personal preference.
my work place did . you really need to edit some of the fluff out of the videos i don't care what you are eating remembering some band from the 80's keep it on point. other then that good video

Star Trek Prodigy season 2 is really good!
Yes King of New York is absolutely worth picking up.
Trainspotting is worth a watch, that steelbook sure does look good!
We acknowledged the 2 minutes silence in work no one said a word
Great Video Paul
I like your shirt pauly

You are so right, BP! Dare is such a phenomenal band! Gonna be cranking up "Under the Sun" right now. 😎
Blake's 7 on bbc and Sapphire & Steel on itv. Essential Saturday evening viewing back then. Superb.
Thanks for the shout out Big Pauly! 56:32 Yes it was Amazon Spain. You're welcome 🤘🏻
The Patrick Stewart Christmas Carol is my favourite adaptation
You missed the opportunity to say “I’m gonna Rock out with my Cox out” 🤘🏻🎸⚡️

I’m surprised you didn’t get the deadpool snuggle in Asda I’ve now got one and they are worth it loads of detail on it

You can get a 4k steelbook of Land of Bad from the USA.

£13 is a fantastic price for Carry On. Then again, it's priceless. Really can't remember anything about The Invasion

Thick as pig shit
Yeah but if it’s in a pub or a cafe or supermarket they should.
Moment of silences aren't meant for areas where you aren't set up with people or speakers to get people to do it. I don't think it was disrespectful.
Shoppers were probably not even aware of the time, i know i wouldn't of
What are your favourite sets
Just finished watching penguin, absolutely loved it…might be better than The Batman. Thoughts?
you cant judge them like that
I still have the last episode to go but been loving it so far

The Invasion was crap so that's probably why it passed you by.
Is that the Daniel Craig movie, it's utter shite. I was in a shop today and had to say before 11 they need to turn music off for 2 mins.
