    Nord is godlike. I could talk about the patches and sounds all day, but the thing that pushes nord over the top and pushes it beyond the competitors, is it's simplistic form of using the keyboard to its fullest potential. There's no needing to learn a computer to get the keyboard to do what you want. Everything is nobs, sliders, and found right before your eyes. Simplistic, beautiful, diverse, and organic.

    No board has moved me like this one. I've learned a lot about it and feel like there is still so much to figure out. It is my most-used keyboard these days. I love the old gear but this one is just so incredibly versatile for live-gigging. I've never owned a keyboard that could so well-emulate some of my favorite EPs, organs and seriously good-sounding pianos. The synth section is huge and powerful. Crazy-expensive but (for me) worth it. Thank you Sweetwater for 0% financing. Two years of payments to go . . . :) Someday I'll sell off some of my older gear to make up for it. Now off to practice my runs and to shave my head . . .

    Played one of these recently at Guitar Centre in New York. Really lovely, feels like a proper instrument. Saw one guy playing it with a load of the internal effects on a clav sound and an expression pedal triggering the wah - it created an amazing electric guitar sound. Want one.

    I've just bought one and it is fantastic. All those people on here who say "buy a piano" are obviously used to sitting at home. I am a professional musician who is on the road 48 weeks out of the year and have never been able to get a full size piano on my back when i'm travelling around. Of course an accoustic piano is more natural sounding, but the next best thing to that sound is a NORD STAGE 2. FANTASTICO:)

    It's 3 split I believe, not sure about the controller functions though! I'm sure it's fine regarding it though. Midi triggering should be the same speed and reliability for all keyboards, they're just the controller sending/receiving information

    Blade Runner theme at 8.25. Our KB player just purchased one of these and I haven't heard it in the live situation yet, only at rehersals, but it sounds wonderful while practicing!

    Just bought this keyboard and I am really impressed...Of course, there are many more nice pads as well which compliment the piano sounds and can be morphed together - totally fantastic - I took the sustain pedal and plugged into the back of the Latch / Rotal input and now it controls the rotary speed by foot! Just a few of the features it has - But to create your own samples - Superb! Also, buying the additional stand makes it look extremely retro and well balanced and secure, Nice one Nord!

    I watched this video more than a year ago - fascinated by all of the sounds i heard from this instrument I decided to buy one (the Nord Stage 88 EX) for use in my band. I've not once regretted buying it. The quality you get from this bad boy is definitely worth the money. I've made so many sounds on this now. Thank you Nord for creating a decent keyboard haha. Here's one of the most unique sounds i've made on it so far!

    Finally my local Guitar Center got one of these bad boys in and wow! I was there for over 3 hours and going back today. I have been playing keyboards for 42 years now and have had them all and I will say the Nord is a different animal the samplings are just way better PERIOD and you can tell. After playing the Nord I started playing a Motif XF8 needless to say I was back playing the Nord in no time. I will get me one of these great instruments once I have the cash. If you have never played one of these I give you fair warning for what you are playing now just won't stack up to the Nord.

    • @raicho20
      @raicho20 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I hate the piano sound on them... Sounds forced and synthesized. Nord should stick to making organs and synths.

    • @raicho20
      @raicho20 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      True. That's why I said they should just stick to organs!

      the keys look a bit flimsy/ are they weighted like a real piano or do they bounce back quickly?

    • @firstimpression9399
      @firstimpression9399 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      oneTwoThree They are bouncy Like water fall keys on Hammond sk1....Trust me its not the feel you want for piano!!!!!! But if you really like Nord Piano, buy the 61 key...Then you could buy 88 MIDI BOARD and play double over with the pianos on the bottom and the organ and synth keys on the Nord top....This is smart as long as the Nord has Midi...and what don't have midi these days

    • @geardemos
      @geardemos 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      J.J.A Florida The Nord Stage 2 has weighted keys (for the 88 and 76-key version) and the feel is good, playing piano on them is a joy (just try it at a music-store). The Nord Stage 2 compact has waterfall-keys like you described and there is no 61-key Nord Stage available.

  • @alpao74
    @alpao74 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It is a wonderful keyboard, the best I have ever owned! But I would like to point out one piece of constructive criticism: it has happened already twice on a gig that I inadvertently hit the transpose button under the Live Mode button, with the obvious unpleasant consequences. I think there should be a way of making the transposition a 2 steps process rather than a 1 step, as it is quite easy to hit a button without meaning to, especially as you control in real time a lot of other functions.

    When on the road, hauling a laptop, interface, etc, is a pain. I've used Roland Gi's &the versatility of 16-256 track recording, instrument inputs, onboard drums &even finalizing software, makes capturing ideas more efficient. The guys in my band who use laptops, spend more time fiddling w/plug-ins/amp-modeling/mixing, than they do actually recording music. And again, it's borderline criminal that a 4k+ board doesnt offer what a $900.00 one does. IMO, consolidation is better than specialization.
