    Sir, God bless. Note thst the fiber(glass) reinforced sheath there will almost certainly be dulling the blade when you draw it. Recommend you get a new sheath for 40-50 bux off one of the eBay makers

      You're 100% correct that's exactly what I did I got a taco shell sheath from Red Hills I don't like those kayaks seeds with a 90 degree angle I'll replace them every time with a taco shell kydex. God bless you as well John!🙏🏻

      Yes this is an awesome knife and it sharpened so nice! I'm pretty sure this will be my go-to also! I'm going to have to take it out and see if I can go through some water bottles ,I have never tried that with a knife before and as thick as it is it looks like it wouldn't do that great but you proved that it could. As always thanks for your support friend! 🙏🏻🙂

    if its made in Taiwan it is VG-10 steel.
    VG-1 fixed blade and VG--1 San Mai were before in Japan.

    The Recon Tanto is great knife. I have both the San Mai VG10 and the SK5. I would love to get a 3V version. This is a very competent and comfortable batoning and chopping knife. I have even edc this knife along with my HK, it is actually fairly comfortable except for when I sit down in my car seat. But for any outdoor activity, this knife carries well.

    • @jerrydonquixote5927
      @jerrydonquixote5927  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I've always liked their San Mai steel. I've always wanted the double edge OSS with the San Mai III. I hear people saying now that Lynn sold the company its going downhill, I don't know that first-hand. Yeah they are awesome knives!

    • @samthai818
      @samthai818 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I believe in some ways their cheaper economical products have gone down. I hear that some of their cheapest knives are now being made in China and what was once indestructible has now started to break readily suchas the GI Tanto. China will screw up anyone's reputation in short order. If coldsteel decides to go this route for all or more of their products then we watching the implosion of a reputable company. This is extremely unfortunate.

      Yes for me Cold Steel either makes a knife that I really love or I just don't like at all but the ones that I have and that I like I really do love! I couldn't be more happy with! I'm glad to know that the Pentagon has AUS8 because I really don't care for that steel probably not the fault of the steel, but nevertheless I have an issue sharpening it, so I guess I should put that up for sale. Thanks for the info! And yes thank you for that also I believe my days is struggling from the strokes are way behind me. And to be able to get a second chance at life and even the burden of relearning things and in some ways I feel like it's made me a better person.
