I DID miss ya! I played my first round in years because of watching your videos. You showed me that 1) Big guys can still play and have fun and 2) It's okay to shoot bogey golf and don't panic about a bogey or double bogey, just move on. So I ended up shooting +8 on 9 holes. My best score ever. :)

Welcome back. If it's not marked OB or ground under repair, you can take an unplayable lie with 1 stroke penalty....or the foot wedge.
Hey there Kinda Big Guy! The ruling for your issue on #9 is a fairly simple one. A viewer indicated it should be "Ground Under Repair" which allows you relief (drop) no closer to the hole without a penalty stroke. I would be inclined to say this should be the case for the lie on your second shot, however, GUR can only be given if the area is properly marked as such (GUR is generally marked with white paint or a sign indicating as such). Now I'm guessing the course didn't mark it. If this is the case then your only option would be to play the ball as it lies or take an unplayable (1 stroke penalty and drop the ball no closer to the hole either two club lengths from the spot or as far back as you want on a line back from the pin). Again, this is the technical interpretation of the rule. But if I were playing with you then I would clearly deem it as GUR and let you take a drop giving you full relief of the area.
Hey John - You're an inspiration to us fellow fat guy golfers. You have good arm extension on the driver follow-thru. My belly gets in the way of doing that even though you've got 125lbs on me. You have a move that most of us don't have to not let the belly weight slow down the swing. If you can post a swingvision of yourself, say at 120fps, face on and down the line, that would be instructional.
