Winter pruning of grapevines

In this video I tackle the winter pruning of our glasshouse grapevines. These are trained following the rod and spur approach and pruning at this time of year is simply a matter of cutting back the fruiting wood to a few choice buds near the base of the spur.

Hi Jonny, many thanks for sharing this, I found it very interesting and informative, having a two season old grapevine this info will help me a lot. I’ve already cut back my spur’s to two bud’s I will be out now looking to see if I can improve on what I have sen on your upload, take good care kind regards
