I don't even hate the Lions lol, but for the last two years we've had to listen to "this is our year" rhetoric about the Lions from all around the NFL, and it's just getting fkn old. It's like every football fan/analyst was born yesterday. It is NEVER the Lions' year until further notice. It is NEVER the Lions' year until the entire season has concluded, and the Lions had their year in it. lol it's laughable. I think the Vikes finish 1st or 2nd. Offensive will be better than last year and that won them the division. Defensive has to be better without Ed, even if we lost some talent. It may take the D half to season to get that true synergy, and later in the season they will climb out of the bottom rankings. Detroit had slightly better offensive numbers last year and also a subpar defense. Will likely come down to who wins those games when they meet late in the season, any key injuries could also play a part. SKOL!!
Best defense in the NFC north is Green Bay, Vikings have a way better offense, Lions take a step back, no way that meat head coach improves that team. Bears keep stinking it up, Vikes take the north. #GoPackGo

O'Neal going down killed us last season. We do have a little more depth at tackle than last year. But our guards are gonna get Kirk killed.

@@DMJ160 it's not entirely on bradbury in his defense. Any center would look horrible between 2 horrendous guards. He held his own last season. But he needs help on the interior for sure.

Interior oline is still a huge concern. I believe the defense will improve to somewhere 15-18th overall ranking, which would be a huge improvement.

Vikings have 2 big problems. First is they cant protect Kirk. Second is they have a terrible secondary. Its a bad combo. Their defense will give up a lot of points and theyll have to throw the ball to stay in games when they cab protect their immobile QB. Its not a recipe for consistent success and they could fall off a cliff this year.

JA will be a great counterpart for JJ, Hock is more then capable of being productive, the defense will improve. I think we can get into the playoffs tbh.
The point differential is really marred by 3… just 3 losses. The Cowboys game along was 3-40. When you have an anomaly like that, it’s gonna skew your numbers-they were a great team with a crap DC.

I'm confident we can beat Philly in one of the most disrespectful and nasty fan bases in the NFL. Flores will likely have a way to shut down Hurts' legs and force him to use his arm. Bottom line is Kirk will win another Prime time game, and Minnesota will have put the NFL on notice. I personally believe the Minnesota Vikings shock the NFL. My prediction is with the passing of Bud Grant, the Minnesota Vikings finish the season 11-6, win the Wildcard, divisional and beat the Cowboys in the NFC Championship and beat the Chiefs in the Super Bowl, honoring the Legendary Bud Grant. It'll be most emotional time in the Minnesota Vikings Nation.

You Vikings fans crack me up. Without a defense and running attack youre garbage. Lions, Packers, Bears all got better on defense and offense. Enjoy 3rd place with a 7-10 record at best. Packers + Lions have better rosters and defenses plus rushing attacks. Defense + Good Oline + Talented QB wins in this league not how many talented receivers you have. Vikings are rather 1 dimensional with just a passing attack. Look for the whole NFC north to put up huge offensive numbers vs Vikings.
As a Vikings fan, I agree. We are heavily underestimated. But that happens every year. We literally did addition by subtraction by letting go of the older guys this year. I predict 10 wins! #SKOL.
BTW: We did draft an RB, we waived him recently. May end up on the practice squad.

Yeah I agree. I think we are very underrated. When u look at the Vikings offense to the lions. St.brown is the lions number one reciever and he’s more of a wr2 and overall that offense is not as good as the Vikings. Defensively I believe to the Vikings got a better coach and added better players. People say well we let our 2 best corners when one of them was 33 year old pat Peterson. We got younger not older which correlates to faster speed
Picking a team that lost 10 straight the previous season over the 13-4 team(which dumped bad contracts/older players and got Flores) to win the division is either foolish, or just echoing the National Media haircut’s narrative.

As a Vikings fan who has watched every NFC north game of my life that I can remember so basically since 8 years old I'm 30 the lions hype is un fucking real. The defense was the problem last year. DeWayne McBride, the running back the Vikings drafted in 2023, is currently on the practice squad. He'll definitely get offensive snaps this season - running back is a very injury-prone position so if Mattison, Kene, or Ham goes down, McBride is in a prime position to step into their shoes.

They will NOT be as good as they were last year! And hockenson is great don’t get me wrong but he’s the most overrated TE in football!!! But got paid like he’s the best! Makes no sense. And ALL their wins were by one score… they can’t get that lucky again… I could be wrong but they may have even scored less points than they gave up last year!
And you still have to pay the BEST , arguably the best WR in the league yet!! Should’ve taken care of him first and not some overrated TE!
A big reason that the Vikings won 13 games was because they were #1 in situational football. The year before in 2021, they were last in that category and lost a lot of those one score games and had an 8-9 record. O’Connell learned it from McVay, held weekly meetings and watched other teams’ mistakes to learn how to make the right choice in particular scenarios to produce touchdowns / field goals to win the game.
KOC learned from the best, Sean McVay, and will definitely improve his play calling in year 2. He is a smart cookie and will most definitely defeat teams by more than one score next season. Plus, the defense can't get any worse and there is no valid reason to think that Kirk is going to decline either.
Hockenson almost had a 1000 yard season last year(due to some low yardage games with the Lions) and was a big difference maker in many of the Vikings games.

The running back that was drafted in the 7th round, Dwayne McBride, was a dud in the preseason. I think he is on the practice squad. Whether or not Mattison and this O Line is actually better than Cook and all of the same guys from last years O Line is to be seen.
The interior OLine and the Defense are gonna be a huge issue this year. I don't believe that we have the pass rush, pass D, and the run D to compete among the best teams in the NFL. Lets see how Flores does with lackluster Defense. I'm thinking 7-8 wins this season.

I think there's two ways of looking at them as a team. The Vikings RECORD will most definitely regress, it's a harder schedule after all. But with some of the injuries on defense last season we weren't even really fielding ZSmith or Kendricks as well as we could, and that's not even getting into how horrible the scheme was. Yes there are some aged players, but in terms of a roster this is nowhere comparable to the worst defenses in the league. Small acquisitions like Byron Murphy and Marcus Davenport could end up being huge, and there's some rookies that didn't get any chances last season who will now be coming into the season fully healthy and ready to go. Aside from that Ivan Pace Jr. is looking to be among the better UDFA's, and I can confidently say the defense will be taking a step back up. With even remotely average defensive play, all the offense truly needs to succeed is for Jordan Addison to be a good target. Which if you've watched any of his games in preseason or at USC he's shown a great ability to create threats and pressure defenses, with Justin Jefferson and Hockenson on offense that talent is invaluable. Last season will definitely have more wins, but this season's Vikings will be a team that is genuinely competitive and defenses will be absolutely dreading playing them.
