  • How to grow Adenium or Desert Rose from cuttings? Here in this video, I have shared a very simple method of propagating Adenium or Desert Rose. There is no need to go for complex procedure as we can do it easily.
Spring is the best time to grow Adenium from cutting and we can start doing from Feb end onwards. So, go ahead and grow as many plants you like. Good luck :-)

Thank you! I will definitely try this. I don't have a Desert Rose plant but a friend does - and I have been trying - and failing 😔 - to get a cutting to grow. I used to place the cutting in the soil directly from snipping it off. I will also do this with Crown of Thorns! Thanks so much to you - and others like you who take time out to put up vids like these which are utterly useful to Gardeners like me 👍🏾😁....much appreciated....Blessings & Peace 🙏🏾

Awesome video. I was afraid to trim my desert rose and also wondering if you can grow from trimmings. You answered all my questions. Thanks

I absolutely love your videos, you are amazing with plants and so much help! I'm going to give this a try for sure. I do have one question? With the coco coir, what do we want to do, just keep it damp at all times or only water the 1st day the cuttings are planted and then maybe once a week? Also, will the cuttings produce that beautiful caudex like the mother plant? Thanks so much !

      >> With the coco coir, what do we want to do, just keep it damp at all times or only water the 1st day the cuttings are planted and then maybe once a week?
The answer is the 2nd part of your question :-) Please avoid keeping the Coco cor damp all time. Or else, cutting would rot.
      >> Will the cuttings produce that beautiful caudex like the mother plant?
They do but take times :-( This is only single drawback of growing from cuttings. But since they are bit costly, I do cuttings here and there and multiply them! Thank you!

      >> Does applying aloe vero on the bottom part of the cutting as a natural rooting hormone work or will it cause root rot?
Ans: It works..root rot won't happen because of Aloe Vera. It may happens if the soil remains wet for much longer time.

I am naturally good with flowers, but my son gave me a lovely desert and I had no knowledge of them. I watched videos and the plant did well through spring and summer, but come fall I had to bring it inside because we have cold winters in Virginia.
I kept in a bright window, but sadly no matter what I did, it developed root rot. I’m still not sure how that occurred, because I followed all of the directions.
Today, I tried to save some parts of it.
    Wish me luck.

    • @GardeningUpbeat

Great to hear that you are naturally good with flowers (it needs lots of work and patience) Actually, winter is the main issue here and I don't think you did something wrong. Cold weather and water must have done the damage.
Wish you all the best! As it's Spring, I am sure it would thrive back again!

Comment like this is best suited on Twitter! I am not joking, I am an active member on Twitter n I don't have anything to say against it.
