Terry , thanks for all your time and effort.Your videos are a great help!Would going from a couple of S107S to the V912 be to big a jump ,for a move from 3.5 to 4 channel.
Got mine in two days ago and i love it. Very Very stable took it about fifty feet high and it made me look like a pro. Your right about the battery issue it will go flat dead quickly. Lol. Great video👍
one thing i did to my v912 to make it fly a hell of a lot better was buying a mjxf45 main motor and changing the tail motor to the tail motor used for the brushless version. It flys 100% better like a whole new heli. Hope you try this sometime. You'll love it even more. Love your videos Terry. Thanks a ton. Happy flying
Terry I really your plain talk, no nonsense approach to explaining things. I'm about ready to buy the brushless V912 based on your advice. It's channels like yours that make this hobby fun!
Mike you don't know what that great comment means to me. That's exactly what my aim is doing these videos to make this hobby fun. Full Throttle & Blue Sky's Brotha...TBT
tigertom53: Yes, at first I thought it was me or something was wrong with the heli. I have had mine at full speed going across the sky & wanted to make a turn but it kept going straight. I had to let it slow down or give it a lil reverse then turn. Its a lil tricky but I guess its the heli's design that this happens at times. Nothing you can't work around once you know it. Glad you love the heli & keep us posted on flights.
Hello TBT! I think it´s not a big problem to wait some weeks or months till the V912 brushless maybe gets cheaper. So I have two motors in reserve and it takes a lot of time - hope so - till they stop working. But as you I too would like to have the new one. Have a good time and many happy landings. Peter
Kevin Vo: The original adapter/transformer gets very hot during a charge. I even mention this in my video. I use a fan blowing across the adaptor/transformer to help it keep cool most times. I also let the charger cool down between charges for about a hour or so. Hope this helps.
I just got this one today. I flew it and it flies very well... Little trim out of the box. I am used to fly the syma f1 which I made 4 channel. I bought the V912 cause I thought it was gonna be considerably smaller. I guess my perception failed cause I am looking at the two of them right now side to side and tit is just a little bit smaller but not that much. The tail rotor is even bigger than the syma F1. but overall I like it a lot. You were right when you said that when the battery dies it dies very quickly anddddd... thanks to what you said I didnt crash.. so thanks ;)
jera 2020: Thanks for the great comment & glad some of my info helped you out. You got a great heli there. Keep in touch on how you like the V912 and how it compares to your Syma F1. One pilot to another...Fly Hard Brotha...TBT
thanks T.B.T great review looks like a great bird to fly. You answered all my questions just ordered mine cant wait to fly. Think I am going to get heatsinks for the tail and main motor. Any special type you suggest? thanks again and happy flying :)
Hi Terry, I received my second v912 the other day after wrecking the first one big time. I noticed like you said that the main motor gets very hot and I saw that pretty much all the wires run through the motor. I wasnt feeling easy about it thinking that at some point it could melt the plastic or deform it, so I ran them over the main motor nice and neat just in case. Have you ever noticed as you replaced the main motor that the wires were deformed or anything like that? I was just curious. Thanks..
Hey Terry great review. How would this compare to a solo pro 228 heli? I'm new to the hobby and want the best heli...one that is really fast, durable, agile, good in the wind, and isn't to hard to fly. What heli would you recommend? Thanks!
Yeah i got 2 of these first off i changed out the main motor to brushless, and esc, then bound it to my fs th6 radio, and man what a difference ,you now get to set the sub trims on rudder and aileron and so on and makes a a real stable flyer.
LogansPortPilot RP: What a great idea. Glad to see your modification has made this heli more fun and last longer. Full Throttle & Blue Sky's Brotha...TBT
The V912 is a great heli for the money, but they eat main motors. My V912 got 5 flights and then cooked the main motor. I have since replaced it and modified the frame to take a 380 Heatsink on the motor. I have also added an extra LED on the tail . Get your self a battery alarm, it attaches to the balance leads and you can set the alarm to start beeping at what ever voltage you like...I have set mine to give me about 1 min till flat. Alarm is super loud, about 110 db which is ample to hear over the rotor noise. It also has a LED read out so you can check it with a quick hover in front of you....Im about to buy the V912 brushless version as I don't want to keep replacing motors. I have also just added a 808 keychain HD video camera to it, just for a bit of fun recording and flying :)
+Heli Freak Wow sounds like some great ideas you have. I bought the brushless version and only have 3 fights on the heli. I would advise anyone that buying a new V912 to get the brushless version. Full Throttle & Blue Sky's Brotha...TBT
I had success turning left. it use to do this on the 911 but not as much am sure it is the weight difference, might try a motor upgrade for the tail later..
Hi Tailboom,I've gotten my 912 out of balance? by trying to level the plate.I had the trim for strafing ,all way to the right and it still wanted to fly left.So I adjusted the length of the servo turnbuckles. Now on lift-off it fly's to the left rear toward 7 or 8 o'clock.I had to make major inputs to save it and sit it down,it also circles left(big open circles). Now I don't know where to start getting it trimmed out. Please advise..and Thanks...
jera 2020: You have to be pretty hard to make the fly bar hit or do what I call hard core flying. Regular flying, normal or easy flying it will not hit. I have gave it full throttle forward and the made a hard left then right and puled back for reverse the fly bar hits at times. After over 14 hours and 109 flights the fly bar has hit the canopy many times. It never caused any issues for me. Flight after flight I continue pushing this heli to its limits and the fly bar will hit at times. This is one of the most fun heli's in my fleet. I own 3 of these and plan to fly them all to there limits. One pilot to another...Fly Hard Brotha...TBT
Hello, can you help me. I have a new brushless V912 shivering back and forth in hover. I flew now in the evening with no wind and the heli is not quiet. What could be the cause. Gyro or rear engine? Peter
Thank you.One more thing, maybe you can help me.Is it possible for the PCB to burn because of a faulty battery? When it burned the first time i've soldered the burned part and after i gave it a little power the motor turned for a second and then smoke came out of somewhere and aIso the wire from the battery was hot.I've checked the motor and is ok but the servo is dead.My concern is that if it's from the battery i don't know how to find the faulty one so i don't use it again.
I got my v912 about 3 weeks ago and after the first week with a fully charged battery the copter would not go above a half of metre in height off the group at full throttle i dont know why this is happening please comment suggestions thank you
Wondering if you had problems with motors burning out. Your review was very helpful but I got nervous when I heard about tail motors lasting only 15 minutes.
at least it has extra blades to replace it with.. things that I would also get is upper main shaft, some fly-bars, motors, and canopy if you like it to look new. I heard also that if you put the v913 Aluminum Cover which goes at the top of the fly-bar can stop tail boom and canopy strikes, something am looking to do...
Great review, my v912 just came in the mail Friday.I was wondering if I could ask you a quick question? I leveled the swashplate and it pulls hard to the left and backwards. I'm starting to get it under control by extending the little arms and tilting the swashplate forward and to the right. Do you think I have problems somewhere else or is this normal? Also I tried trimming it first but no way it was going to correct it that much.
Philip Borg I don't know if what you have is normal. I could get mine to hover by just adjusting the trims. I would see if you can work out the hover by adjusting the servo arms. If not then you may have problems elsewhere. Full Throttle & Blue Sky's Brotha...TBT
Hi Terry enjoyed your videos on the v912 so much i went out and bought one, this is my firdt rc copter and having a few problems with it .I have leveled the swash plate the best i can but when i try and fly it its all over the place ,how much work goes into making it hover like i see in your video are you constanly adjusting the controls all the time i have seen other videos and the hell hovers with no input at all on the tx. I have problems getting it to go forward for some reason it enjoys fling backwards and doesn't respond very well with forward stick.any ideas would be helpful
gary Cordingley Welcome to world of RC heli's. I have had my V912 helis trimmed out so they would hover as I held the radio over my head with the other hand. Depends on the wind on how much I have to use the sticks while hovering. I know a lot on here level there swash plate. I owe 3 of these heli's and never had to level my swash on any of them. I tell people just learn to fly the darn bird, it takes practice. All I did was adjust trims when needed. I does take a lot of practice to hover in place. When your first learning to fly it may move around a bit as you will over compensate at times. Sounds to me like something is not right since the swash was leveled. Did you have the heli on a level service and the radio on and all right joystick in the middle? All trims are in the mid setting? Then the swash should be level, if not adjust it level. Don't forget the radio has a High & Low settings plus turbo that will make the heli respond quicker or slower depending how you have it set. Hope this helps. FYI: I have 194 flights and over 25 hours on V912's, lots of practice...Full Throttle & Blue Sky's Brotha...TBT
thanks for your response now i no what is poss ill continue trying with it i think mine is slightly tail heavy as i tried to balance it on its flybar and it certainly wanted to go back on its self so i have stuck a couple of coins on the front re balanced it and now waiting for batt to charge by the way iam from Glasgow Scotland
I found the problem one of the motor screws was not tighten very well I had to stand back and look at it and figure out what was that noise coming from hopefully now I can do a flight test charging the battery as we speak thank you so much for your input it helped me a lot and by the way what do you think about the new well I don't know about new but its the v 262 quadcopter
Jose Torres As for the V262 quadcopter its seems like a very cool large quad to fly around. But I have read lots of reviews on this quad and it seems to have motor issues after a few flights. Some say you have to break the motors in right other say to should not fly it past 5 or 6 minutes and others say don't cut power to motors and let it float down then apply full power or you may ruin a motor. At what this V262 cost I believe I will wait until these problems are addressed before I buy one. I know quads like the V949 are not as big but a lot cheaper and they don't have motor issues...Fly Hard Brotha...TBT
My V949 will go high. It's only 4 axis gryo inside but this baby is fast and will do flips when on 100%. I have used a 808 cam on mine many times. The V959 has legs and it is to be easier to launch and comes with camera.
Terry, I loved your review of the V912. I just got mine yesterday. Needs some adjustment cause it wants to drift backward. How are you swapping out extra batteries? Mine is clamped in with a bracket.
jcl311 All my V912's I just take off canopy and pull battery out from the front on the brushed version. What I did with mine is loosen the screws that hold the battery clamp in place to make it easier to change battery's. I left these screws just a little lose so its easier to change battery's. I heard on the brushless version there is a wire tie holding the brushless pc board to the battery. You can cut this wire tie and change the battery and then install a new battery and a new wire tie to hold the pc board in place. I do know some guys are modifying this heli so you do not have to cut wire ties to change battery's. There is a lot of work involved and you have to add metal plate. This seems like a lot of work when you can just cut off the old wire tie and add a new one. Wire ties are very cheap to say the least. Full Throttle & Blue Sky's Brotha...TBT
Hi Terry, your review is one of the reasons I went with the v912 that I received yesterday. It is on it's way back to Amazon today due to the dreaded blank lcd screen. It was working fine and then all of a sudden nothing on the screen but the back light and won't bind. This is an intermittent issue, have you seen this? Also, is it necessary to level the swash plate? I leveled it before I even flew it the first time but I hear a lot of people saw don't bother on a fixed pitch heli? thanks for your vids by the way, much appreciated!
Mr Turnone: Just a follow up to your question. I own 3 V912's and have never leveled any of the swash plates. I was able to trim mine out that they fly straight and don't drift to one side or another and hovers just great. When my heli's and hovering the heli it self hovers at a very slight angle as you look at it from the back but it hovers in place. I can live with hovering at a slight angle. If I ever replace motor then I will level swash "Wings are for woosies" Tail Boom Terry
I crashed Lightly the tail rotor hit first nothing broke,All the rotor gears are fine,But I only have right rudder. The only time the tail rotor spins is when I give it right rudder other than that,I have nothing .Any Ideas of what is wrong.
Hi terry, my 912 brushless does not like to turn right when travelling forward. It will turn left just fine and will yaw right while hovering. But when I tell it to turn right while going forwards it just keeps on going. I have replaced the tail motor but it hasn't helped I gave up and bought another as they are so cheap. Guess what? This one is just the same. I have many other helis and quads and am about to give up on this one, please help!
hi,my receiver burned after the first flight so i ordered a new one.On the new receiver board all i have to do for it to work is just solder the wires and plug in the conectors? This is my first rc heli so i don't know how it works.
Thanks, I found out that the adapter was broken. Its a 9V 1200mAh. I found an extra 9V 1500mAh, so I am using it right now. It gets really hot. Do you think its okay? with the diff in mAh?
I recently purchased the upgraded version V912, the tail motor already burned out. Is it possible to change out these motors to the new brushles motors?
+Garret G.: They don't make a original brusless tail motor for the V912. You would have to modify the heli to accept a brushless motor from some other heli. Brushed tail motors are very cheap less than 5.00 I usually buy 2 so I have a spare. Full Throttle & Blue Sky's Brotha...TBT
20 flights in my helicopter main motor stop working looked at the mother board and the socket from the v913 motor to the v912 motherboard had a black burn and melted plastic to the connector must of shorted out... ordering a new pcb board...
+Stephen Michael Dirse: Welcome aboard & hope we can exchange knowledge on these flying machines but above all have fun. Full Throttle & Blue Sky's Brotha...TBT
sounds good Terry, and now that they have such good electric heli's I am having fun. I bought a thunder tiger Raptor years ago. I don't know if you have heard of them. But it was gas, and you had to find someone to teach you how to fly one. I spent/wasted $3000 on that gas heli and everything else i needed to fly it. I ended up selling it for dirt cheap. There was at the time where I live only one RC group. And they were all into planes. The expense just kept going up faster than the heli...LOL. So i am sticking with electric.
+Stephen Michael Dirse: The gas Helis are way out of my budget. I have a hard enough time to get the wife to agree on the electrics let alone the gas. These electrics are cheap as heck at banggood and tmart.
I get you Terry. My wife is just the same. She dosen't get why i like to still play with "toys" at my age.......Lol. I try to get thru to her than it's a hobby and they are not "toys"..LOL
+Stephen Michael Dirse: Its all good my brotha. My wife says these helis keep me out of trouble and at least she videos some of my flights and flys a v912 once in a while herself.
The top screw from the aluminium cover, take off the mix arms and then you will need a small screw driver or something with a small and skinny point to push the pin out of the fly bar, but videos are great...
K...we ll do....i have just replaced the main motor with the v912 stock...i might just do the brushless conversion from banggood when i get myself some extra $... they have all the parts to make it work for a pretty reasonable price....considering ive have noticed more longevity on brushless motors with my experience. I ll just order myself a board and i ll keep everyone posted if it fixes it...thanks again Terry.
got mine took 21 days not to bad..... may flights with no issues a few small crash but it built very strong.... I noticed at high speeds it doesn't like to turn right but will turn left with ease... V912 has some weight and takes a bit to turn or change directions, not as nibble as the v9111... I love the v912 helicopter it been a blast to fly...
I just got the v912. When I try to charge it with the socket charger only the red power led light is on. The charge LED isn't on. Is this normal? How do you know it's even charging.?
6-25-13 So far I have 38 flights with over 5 hours stick time with 3 very hard crashes on this heli so far. It has held up fine with no major breakage of parts. Only the canopy has a slight crack from a 30ft fall down a tree after crashing into it. I would say its built like a tank.
my fly bar was bent in a previous crash just bent it back into position and continue to fly. but i dont kno how to take apart the heli. the only thing i can replace are the blades and the mixing arm but i dont kno how to disassemble for things like the main shaft or replacing the flybar. so just hoping i dont damage anything else. if all goes well i will post a vid on staturday showing my beginner flying abilities and u cud maybe give some tips.
Terry my radio screen stop working..it was fine when I stored it over the winter batterys are new the screen will light up but there is no info on the screen it is blank any ideas?thank you Pat
+Pat Monty wow thats very odd. Only thing make sure the battery's are good by testing them with a meter and make sure all battery conections are good. Other than that your radio is bad
Hi Terry, you know I just wanted to ask you,, the first motor in my V912 lasted only 15 flights and I only fly it 5 minutes per charge. I installed another stock motor that lasted 23 flights only. I opened both of the motors and I can see that one of the brushes was completely gone while the other still had atleast 15 more flights on them. This happened on both motors that burned out, the exact same thing on the two of them. Any ideas?
jera2020: You need to mod that V912 as original motors have issues. Look at my video: Tail Boom Terry V912 Easy Must Do Mods & Motor Temps here on youtube. The video will tell you the best mods for your V912 to stop motor burn outs.
+DroneXFun: Yes as far as I know you can. Let me add the V912 transmitter is much better than the V911 transmitter. Most people are buying the complete packaged V912 and adding a V911 BNF so they have a much better transmitter for both. Hope this answers your question. Full Throttle & Blue Sky's Brotha...TBT
I have the v911 I'm getting the 912 but I do have 2 questions about the 912 will the balance bar hit the blades and how does it fly with doing any mods and how strong of wind can it handle. I had a v911 get away from me haven't found it yet
Mark Hughes : The balance bar will hit the front canopy at times. I have just about everything you can name to my V912 and the balance bar does hit these areas but that's never been a big issue with me. I never had it hit the blades. As far as wind you will love it and it does much better than the v911. It will go forward into the wind without the wind taking it backwards unless your flying in a hurricane. When you fly with the wind it will pick up speed very fast. As far as mods learn to fly it first then do the mods or just buy the new brushless motor v912. (check out my v912 mod video) This will reduce some of the mods you have to do to this heli. I just had mine out for 2 flights last night and the V912 is still my favorite heli's to buzz around the sky. Hope this answers your questions..Fly Hard Brotha...TBT
thanks for your response now i no what is poss ill continue trying with it i think mine is slightly tail heavy as i tried to balance it on its flybar and it certainly wanted to go back on its self so i have stuck a couple of coins on the front re balanced it and now waiting for batt to charge by the way jam from Glasgow Scotland
gary Cordingley Hi Glasgow Scotland. COG (Center Of Gravity) is very important in these helis. This heli flys better when its a slightly nose heavy. I bought the upgraded battery's and they are a tad heavier than the originals which makes it a lil nose heavy, flys great. Full Throttle & Blue Sky's Brotha...TBT
Hi Terry... I have a question... I have noticed the lipo batteries on two of my v912 swell up slightly after a flight.. It has happened to all of the lipo batteries I have tried on these helis as well as any other heli I have ever flown. I was just wondering,, do you get the same thing>? Happy Saturday Terry...! :) one again thank you for your videos..
jera2020: I mainly use after market batteries with a higher mAh than stock. I never noticed any swelling on my batteries at this time. I have 6 total flying batteries for the V912. Only thing I do is make sure they are totally cold before recharging any of them. Anyone else want to weight in on this subject? Full Throttle & Blue Sky's My Brotha...TBT
I bought a bunch of extra battery's for just that situation. I make sure all my battery's are charged before I head out to any flying fields. I also give the heli a brake between flights for the motors top cool down before the next flight
Kevin Vo: The green light should be on while charging. Red led on because of power and green led on during charge and when fully charged green led goes out. Try it in the heli to make sure its dead. Then try charging. If battery is dead try putting it in the charger for about 2 hours. See if it is charged by putting it in the heli. If it powers the heli then you have bad green led on charger. If it doers not power the heli you have bad charger. Look at connector make sure pins are straight.
kadaj2k6: Glad you like the heli, its the most fun heli I have ever flown. I do own a V949 and its fun in its own right to fly. Best thing about it I can fly it at night because of the led lights. Keep us posted on your flights and make sure you check our my other videos on the V912 & V949 with 808 camera mounted to it. i broke a mixing arm on the heli after panicking when i saw some birds flying my directing and i flew into a telephone pole. so am currently waiting the arrival of some spare parts. i live in barbados in the caribbean so i have quite the wait ahead of me. hopefully my 959 will be here soon. i am thinking to buy a bnf 912 and use the one i am learning on for spare parts once i get better. then on to the 913. i love how cool that canopy looks and it seems very stable. i will post a vid and share
Hi Terry got my new 912 and she flys real well ,the old one had big stability problems giros or something could not control it ,however the new on is very good although the centre of gravity was off a bit ,i tried all sorts of ideas blutack like stuffed in the nose, the final solution was i went down to the local tyre fitter and got a hold of some sticky weights for alloy wheels and stuck them on to the front of the fuselage perfect many thanks
+gary Cordingley Thank for the great idea. I just got the brushless V912 & the cog is way off. I will have to add some weight to nose also. I will be doing a video on the brushless V912 in a couple weeks. Full Throttle & Blue Sky's Brotha...TBT
Hi mine is brushless main motor what do you mean the cog is way off as it turns out i have replaced the main gear twice as its easily stripped ,i though it was because i had one or two ugh landings lo you know what i mean skimming it low to the ground and it went arse of tit but amazingly it could still fly but there was this ticking noise and i found the main gear had a few teeth missing
Hello! In the meantime, I'm making some progress with the V912, but I still have a general problem: the balance, in hover. I can control the V912 very well already, but he lies more to the right side. Can you show how I can solve the problem. Kind regards! Peter
Peter Kabasser The V912 seems to hover a little bit leaning to one side. This never bothered me as I figured it was because of the rotation of the blades and I just fly it like that. Some other guys it bothers big time they tried to adjust trim but that never seemed to fix the problem. Some adjusted the swash plate to off set this. It seems like a lot of work to fix just a little bit of lean. My only suggestion is either live with it or adjust the swash plate by making the servo rods longer or shorter that control the lean or crab effect....Fly Hard Brotha...TBT
I saw that Banggood has New PCB For WLtoys V912 RC Helicopter If your new version has the functions such as:Bubble Blower,Water Cannon,Missile Launcher,Hook, Basket and camera..
jera2020: I would love to get a brushless version and do a review. But I still have 2 of the old V912's which I modified with MJX-F45 motors one of which was never in the air. But maybe Santa will be good to me and bring me one. One pilot to another...Fly Hard Brotha...TBT
tigertom: Best Idea yet ordering a V912 & transmitter plus a V911 bnf. The v912 will bind to the V912 transmitter easy. That way you have 2 great helis. Hope everyone will think about that. The V912 & 2 stock batteries I ordered was on back order. Took almost 2.5 months to get it here in the states. Lucky I ordered it March 1st weather was bad here and I got it in May some time. I ordered 2 extra 1000mh battery packs 3 weeks ago from BG. They stated they should be shipping them by June 17th
Well I checked everything everything seems to be good but when I put it in my hand and started it up the noise is coming from the tail so I put a little oil on it just a little and its still making that noise so I don't know what's going on I don't think the motor is blowed cause the blade spinning tail motor is still good....
how do you change to mode 4 on the Tx. my top left button does nothign and the LH converter button is on the dpad. another youtuber has different functionality. can you help me get to mode 4?
Jigar Patel: Manual says to switch to Mode 4 you hold on the transfer switch (which is in the top middle one) and turn power on (which is the bottom middle one. It should tell you what mode its in under the antenna symbol in the display. These switches are the 2 middle ones facing you with your hands holding the transmitter ready to fly. It has nothing to do with the 2 top push buttons. Let me know if this helps. Fly Hard Brotha...TBT
worked like a charm. thanks a lot. my first helis and it's a blast. just need to stay stocked up on those flybars! snapped two the same day (for the v911) haha banggood here i come.
is your fixed main iron cover (collar) just that...fixed? mine is loose. it has a tiny screw in it but it doesnt go thru the shaft hole . was it glued on? i just strung some paperclips through the lined up holes to keep it in place. also does your main shaft slide up and down? mines does and the main gear gets too low so it doesnt turn the motor as effectively. thanks TBT
gingmarie: I can only comment on the V912. I don't own a V913 yet. The V912 Is smaller and easier to fly in tighter areas like a small back yard. Its cheaper that the V913 by about 40.00. The V912 is fast and can take the wind but its not nimble as it can not turn on a dime. V912 does have motor issues mine went bad around 43 flights. Replacement is cheap and easy to install. I love my V912 as its just the right size. Maybe you can ask some who owns V 913 on what the think of it.
Good work Terry, I love all of your videos... and passion about the RC Helis... After seeing your 911 indoor review I bought it and crashed on the same day out of excitement and waited a month to get the replacements. Now I got the v911 Pro v2 too and love it more than the v911. But after a while I realised even though its a V911 Pro is a outdoor version, it couldn't handle winds in India. Is there any tweaks to pump up the wind penetration or should I go for successors like V912? Please advice me :) TIA
Mohanial D: Glad you likes the V911 as much as I do. Sorry to say as much fun as they are there is not much you can do with any of the V911's to make them better outside in any windy conditions. The V912 with do a much better job in the wind. My suggestion is to get the brushless version if budget allows. You will love the V912 but you have to know it fly's completely different than the V911 Its bigger so its not as agile as the V911 but its still a blast to fly. I own 3 of them and flew 2 very hard out side in all kinds of weather conditions, the 3rd has not yet hit the air. One pilot to another...Fly Hard Brotha...TBT
Terry L Thanks for the reply Terry, After seeing the video I'm so excited to get v912 to have more fun in the Wind. What do you think, would v912 will be able to penetrate 15 to 20 km/h of wind conditions? and whats ur thoughts on WLtoys V977 Power Star X1 6CH 2.4G Brushless? please suggest me. TIA
Mohanial D: Lets us know how you like that V912. It can handle more wind than the V911 but you will have your hands full flying in 20km/h of wind, chances of crashing are higher with the higher winds. I would try flying it in less wind until you get use to it. I own 2 of the V977 they are 6 channel and fly completely different and are much faster that V911 and more agile than the V912. In 6 axes mode it flys just a little harder than a 4 channel heli. In 3 axes mode its a lot harder to fly than any 4 channel. Just remember some people never will be able to fly a 6 channel heli and give up as they are much harder to fly and get use to. I would get use toflying the V911 and V912 then move on to V977. I love my V977 as I and learning to fly it inverted. Remember a 6 channel needs inputs all the time from the radio. Even to make it hoover you have to be moving the sticks all the time. As I stated on one of my videos: The differences between 3, 4 and 6 channel helis. 3 Channel is like riding a bike with training wheels. 4 Channel is like riding a bike without training wheels. 6 Channel is like riding a unicycle. Yes you can do thats its a little work. You will need a new motor and board that controls the motor. yousky7 sells a kit for 39.99 to accomplish this. I just bought a V912 brushless and my heli had lots of wear. Just go tosearch.yousky7.com/?key=v912+brushless
brockd03: yes I recommend this one from banggood. MJX-F45-F645-Part-Main-Motor-Cooling-Aluminum & Tail Motor Heat Dissipation Aluminum. These are what I am going to use. Plus I would cut the frame metal away on the sides of the main motor. I am in the process of doing a video showing all the mods on the V912 I hate flying in str8 lines Tail Boom Terry
i really wanted to buy a v912 but i have read from a forum that the main motor lasts for 20 flights only bec. of heat issue, is this true? if it's not then i will buy this for sure. TIA
JinRei: Yes I did a video on motor issues with the V912 Some last many flights some do not. Depends on heat and what batteries you use and quality of motors on time frame of them going out. Runways we don't need no stinking runways Tail Boom Terry
I installed a v913 motor the v912. it takes very little throttle to hover if you give it 100 percent the helicopters rear tail spins because their is so much power... lol I do get a little better warning when the batteries is going to die.
Hey Terry Got my V912 for a month now love it!!!! tks for all the stuff u put on YT I was wondering can I put lights on V912??......any idea where to get them?/ tks Pat
Pat Monty: Thanks for the great comment. I seen some videos on guys adding a led to the back and sometime to the front of the helis. Leds don't take much power and use a very small battery. Look around on youtube videos on adding lights on rc helis. If you add lights get a video on here and let us know how it worked out...One pilot to another...Fly Hard Brotha...TBT
jeff britt: 1.Turn heli on then radio let bind 2. Make sure your radio trims are set in middle, hold heli with your hand move radio sticks all around quickly then go back to neutral on all sticks. 3. Turn heli off (make sure servos don't move) unplug heli battery 4. Turn radio off 5. Pull servo linkage to swash plate off 6. Hold swash plate level 7. Adjust servo linkage via turn buckles to meet level swash plate (make sure servo white arm does not move) 8. Snap servo linkage onto swash plate 9. Turn heli on then radio let bind 10. See if all is level. 11. Give it a flight test (you may have to adjust trims a bit)
Terry L.,Thanks for responding Brother.I followed leveling instructions and corrected 2 ball links probs. She took off to the rear ,circled right, hard to get R rotation or get any forward momentum.I'm loosin it Man...This is my hobby ,my break time,my time ...my hair is to thin to pull any out.Hep me Hep me
Use a volt meter make sure it reads around 8.29 Volts compare to your other batteries make they are close to the same, but Im thinking it has something to do with short on the PCB board. Oh yeah you have to solder power wires & antenna wire on the board.....
Hi Terry ! I've been watching and learning a lot from your videos for about a year now and I have subscribed as well. I have four V911's and have been having fun flying them also for about a year... started with three channels and when I determined I was serious about this hobby I got the V911's. However I wanted something a little bigger and more wind resistant so as of a couple of days ago I received a V912 from Banggood. I haven't been able to test it yet because they did not include the AC adaptor plug to got from EU to US socket. I should have one in a few days though. I have a question about how to properly use the charger. I've been all over TH-cam and Google and none of the explanations about how the LEDs should light up, how long it ttakes to charge or anything else about the balance charger seem to agree. Could you please set me straight on this. I also purchased three upgraded batteries. And one more thing, I noticed there is a little slack or play in the tail rotor, I was wondering if maybe I should try to tighten it or if it has to be like that. Thank you so much for your videos, please keep'em coming. Happy flying man!!!
this heli is a tank. got it yesterday. my first ever rc product. NEVER flown anything in my life....needless to say it crashed alot before i got the hang of hovering. crashed into grass, pavement, cement block wall. the fly bar was bent....straightened that out and flew again. i just cracked the main blade tho :(...but its still flying well. flying is hard. i oreder a 959 quad to help my practice my hovering tailin, tail out etc orientation. very happy about this buy tho.
I installed MJX f45 Motor in my v912 today it's better then the v913 motor ot the v912. mjx f45 motor has less power and is easier to control the helicopter am very happy with it so far, also it includes the connector cables all I had to do is reverse the wires at the plug end, no need to solder..=o))
whats up Terry? i ve been havin some probs as of late with my v912, love this heli as you know, but i have about maybe 40 flights or so. im on my second set of main and tail motors, i have done all your mods and it helped a lot. here is my prob, when i start flying it cuts out for a quick second here and there(the main motor), then recovers, also i noticed when im on the ground moving all my servos i am getting a really bad jitter and the movements arent precise. ive went through the heli, and the things i can tell you that is not the problem after diagnosing..the transmitter is fine, the batteries are strong, the main motor is good, tail motor is good, the only thing i can think of is possibly receiver board and /or servos? any thoughts? anybody else you know has had these probs? its frustrating cause i love flying this heli. i ll just fly my v911 pro in the meantime.
04swiftstang: So sorry to hear about you problems with the V912. In all my flights I had to replace main board 2x. Once I worked on the heli with battery wires on but the switch off. The main board seems to still have power and it blew out. The other time is was a bad crash. Just make sure if you work on the heli battery wires are not connected to be safe. When you replaced the motor did you use the MJX F45? The MJX F45 is a much better motor than the original that comes in the V912 1st try main board 2nd try main motor. 3rd try both Any one else want to weigh in on this? PS; Make sure your receiver wire on the main board is not broken or cut short, make sure its soldered onto the main boards good. Make sure its not bare and rubbing against anything. Let us know how you make out...One pilot to another ...Fly Hard Brotha...TBT
I have had a chance to fly my V912 today first flight after a rain in some wind i landed it terry. I love the little helicopter. I shared the video. I have a video of the MJX F645 as well, and it flys nice, but the menu edit doesn't work on my transmitter. It's big It's not graceful lol I love them both.I have an 808 #16 V2 lens D and this weekend I am going flying at the fishing lake. Keep on flying.
Cory Reeves: You got your self 2 great helis. Get that camera on one of them and post some videos. I love to see what others are doing with video's on there heli's. Keep us updated on your heli's and what you think of them as you increase your stick time on them both. Fly Hard Brotha Tail Boom Terry
Yes the main motor can. I would advise you to buy the brushless V912 then the only thing is the trail motor. That motor does not burn out fast and is cheap and easy to replace. Blue Sky's & Full Throttle Brotha...TBT
Hey Terry: Man I am frustrated, I hope I didn't make a mistake. What I did was order a V12 heli since I have the v11. The problem is I sent away for it over 2 weeks ago, and now they are saying estimated delivery date is oct 7 thru the 30th. I have no patience. I wanted to get it from Bangood but they didn't have it. I even sent the company a e-mail trying to cancel the order and figured I would get it somewhere else. and got no reply back. have you ever had this problem? Steve
+Stephen Michael Dirse: No I don't believe you made a mistake. You didn't state where you live. I live in PA in the states and most times about 6 to 8 weeks if it was ordered from a warehouse in china. I order from tmart & banggood for most of my heli needs. I know banggood and tmart have warehouses in the states now for faster delivery and you can chose which warehouse when you order but some items you can only get from china warehouse. The last heli I ordered from tmart took 5 days to reach my house. Full Throttle & Blue Sky's Brotha...TBT
Im checkin out of the loop,Best to Terry and everybody.I replaced the swash plate on my 2nd v912,now it flies backwards like the 1st one.Its just not worth the effort and worry.Like in romance, the bad outweighs the good.I wish Id never heard of a ---------------- -------------- rc helicopter. Thanks for everything.
correction it not the v913 its the MJX F45 Aluminium Ball Helicopter Part F45-001 it fits on top of the v912. alternative way of limiting the "range" of the flybar
7-6-13 after 43 flights the main motor went out on my V912. I have a spare motor and other spare parts on order from banggood but I know it will be a couple weeks until they get here. I ordered a motor from Walkera-esky out of Ca. for 5.69. Within 5 days it was on my door step. I will post a video on how to replace this motor as it takes a little work to do as the fed wires have to be soldered on. I would suggest that everyone get a spare motor with spare batteries for this great little bird.
Benjamin Kladder: The V912 is a great all around heli but in due time you will have to replace the main or tail motors. After 44 flights I had to replace the main motor. At 69 flights I had to replace the pcb receiver. At 78 flights I had to replace my tail motor. I now have 80 flights with about 10 hours in the air on this heli. I am averaging my flights at 8 minutes per flight. All motors and even the pcb is very cheap to replace.
Terry , thanks for all your time and effort.Your videos are a great help!Would going from a couple of S107S to the V912 be to big a jump ,for a move from 3.5 to 4 channel.
Thanks for this review, and especially for your notes about the pros and cons.
+Daniel Berry Tank you for watching. Glad you like my video. Full Throttle & Blues Sky's Brotha
Tanx RC Guy for the info on a great improvement on this lil heli
The tail motor, even in the brushless version is a brushed. In my oppinion the only disadvantage of this great helicopter.
Full Throttle & Blue Sky's Brotha...TBT
thank you very much for your help. Now i'm just waiting for my new PCB .Can't wait to fly it again.
thanks for the info just bought one of these from amazon, 61.00 shipped, cant wait till it arrives.
tigertom53: Yes, at first I thought it was me or something was wrong with the heli.
Ok I will check those parts again it took me 3 hours to do this but im glad I put the motor in just need to check what you mention ... thanks terry
Bruce Burkland: Yea gr8 idea. I love doing these videos outside but I can't stop the sounds of the gr8 outdoors.
One pilot to another...Fly Hard Brotha...TBT
tigertom53: Great idea on V913 motor in V912. Thanks for the update on the motor. Keep in touch on how it is working out for you.
thanks T.B.T great review looks like a great bird to fly.
Thank you for the review. I would like yo know how hard do you have to be on the heli for the fly bar to hit the canopy or the tail boom? Thanks
jera 2020: You have to be pretty hard to make the fly bar hit or do what I call hard core flying.
Terry L Thanks Terry... that was good info... good luck !
Tigertom53: I have a mjx f45 motor ready to install when mine goes bad on my V912 Does the mjxf45 motor still get as hot as the original V912 motor?
at least it has extra blades to replace it with.. things that I would also get is upper main shaft, some fly-bars, motors, and canopy if you like it to look new.
Thanks man
Hi Terry enjoyed your videos on the v912 so much i went out and bought one, this is my firdt rc copter and having a few problems with it .I have leveled the swash plate the best i can but when i try and fly it its all over the place ,how much work goes into making it hover like i see in your video are you constanly adjusting the controls all the time i have seen other videos and the hell hovers with no input at all on the tx.
Jose Torres Glad you got the problem solved. Now go fly the crap out of that heli...Fly Hard Brotha...TBT
Thank you bro
Jose Torres As for the V262 quadcopter its seems like a very cool large quad to fly around. But I have read lots of reviews on this quad and it seems to have motor issues after a few flights. Some say you have to break the motors in right other say to should not fly it past 5 or 6 minutes and others say don't cut power to motors and let it float down then apply full power or you may ruin a motor. At what this V262 cost I believe I will wait until these problems are addressed before I buy one. I know quads like the V949 are not as big but a lot cheaper and they don't have motor issues...Fly Hard Brotha...TBT
Ok thanks for the input on the v262 then I will get the v949 how high do they go??
Ordered one today. Can't wait😀
Chill Hill Let us know how you like your V912 after you fly it
thanks for your great updates
If I ever replace motor then I will level swash

I love wl toys helicopters and love the new remote and glad it will work with most of the other helicopter....
I have replaced the tail motor but it hasn't helped
I gave up and bought another as they are so cheap.
Thanks for the video . You now have a new subscriber.

My wife says these helis keep me out of trouble and at least she videos some of my flights and flys a v912 once in a while herself.
i bought the RTF v912.Will the transmitter that i got bind with the new PCB i've ordered?I'm also thinking of buying a v911 bnf.
Hi there, great vid. and info. Could I bind my v911 pro transmitter to the v912 BNF? Sorry for the dumb question, I'm still new. Thanks a million.
How do you charge your helicopter out in the field where there is no AC 220V Socket? This is one of the problems that stops me from buying one!
I ordered this heli with two 1000mh battery packs. how long did it take to get it?
When my pcb board when out it got so hot I could not touch it. My batteries were just fine & checked ok. Most times its the pcb it self that's bad.
kadaj2k6: Glad you like the heli, its the most fun heli I have ever flown.

Hi mine is brushless main motor what do you mean the cog is way off as it turns out i have replaced the main gear twice as its easily stripped ,i though it was because i had one or two ugh landings lo you know what i mean skimming it low to the ground and it went arse of tit but amazingly it could still fly but there was this ticking noise and i found the main gear had a few teeth missing
i also looking forward to your next video
+gary Cordingley COG=Center Of Gravity. My heli seems to be a lil tail heavy or nose light
lol hmm ok iam dumb can't believe i never picked that up have fun
My only suggestion is either live with it or adjust the swash plate by making the servo rods longer or shorter that control the lean or crab effect....Fly Hard Brotha...TBT
was able to solder wire on the the board for a temporary fix until the new pcb comes in...
I saw that Banggood has New PCB For WLtoys V912 RC Helicopter If your new version has the functions such as:Bubble Blower,Water Cannon,Missile Launcher,Hook, Basket and camera..
7-6-13 Back in the air with a new main motor. I now have a total of 47 flights & 6 hours of stick time. Having a blast with this heli...
Hi Terry,,, did you finally got your hands on the brushless version>? I would love a review from you about it.
jera2020: I would love to get a brushless version and do a review.
Jose Torres Maybe the gear or the meshing of both gears in the tail?
how do you change to mode 4 on the Tx. my top left button does nothign and the LH converter button is on the dpad. another youtuber has different functionality. can you help me get to mode 4?
Jigar Patel: Glad to help you brotha, Fly Hard...TBT
Jigar Patel: Fly Hard Brotha...TBT
is your fixed main iron cover (collar) just that...fixed? mine is loose. it has a tiny screw in it but it doesnt go thru the shaft hole . was it glued on? i just strung some paperclips through the lined up holes to keep it in place. also does your main shaft slide up and down? mines does and the main gear gets too low so it doesnt turn the motor as effectively. thanks TBT
gingmarie: I can only comment on the V912.
I got it all back together now but its making a weird noise can you figure out what this is I posted on TH-cam
As I stated on one of my videos:
The differences between 3, 4 and 6 channel helis.
3 Channel is like riding a bike with training wheels.
4 Channel is like riding a bike without training wheels.
6 Channel is like riding a unicycle.

Terry L Thanks for the detailed explanation, could please tell me where can I get v912 brushless cheaper online?
Yeppers: Banggood.com=89.88
tmart.com=99.99
Both have free shipping but they sell out quickly
Terry can I upgrade my v912 to a brushless motor? do I need a new cb also?..do you think it worth doing?? thank you!Pat
I am in the process of doing a video showing all the mods on the V912
I hate flying in str8 lines
Tail Boom Terry
i really wanted to buy a v912 but i have read from a forum that the main motor lasts for 20 flights only bec. of heat issue, is this true? if it's not then i will buy this for sure. TIA
JinRei: Yes I did a video on motor issues with the V912 Some last many flights some do not. Depends on heat and what batteries you use and quality of motors on time frame of them going out. Runways we don't need no stinking runways Tail Boom Terry
if I bought the right things can I up grade the v912 to a 6ch if so what do I need ty.
I don't know of any way to do all that work at a reasonable price.
Hi can you give me a link for or show me how to replace a servo on V912 thanks.TerryT
I installed a v913 motor the v912. it takes very little throttle to hover if you give it 100 percent the helicopters rear tail spins because their is so much power... lol I do get a little better warning when the batteries is going to die.
Hey Terry
Got my V912 for a month now love it!!!! tks for all the stuff u put on YT I was wondering can I put lights on V912??......any idea where to get them?/ tks Pat
Pat Monty: Thanks for the great comment. I seen some videos on guys adding a led to the back and sometime to the front of the helis. Leds don't take much power and use a very small battery. Look around on youtube videos on adding lights on rc helis. If you add lights get a video on here and let us know how it worked out...One pilot to another...Fly Hard Brotha...TBT
jeff britt:
1.Turn heli on then radio let bind
2. Make sure your radio trims are set in middle, hold heli with your hand move radio sticks all around quickly then go back to neutral on all sticks.
3. Turn heli off (make sure servos don't move) unplug heli battery
4. Turn radio off
5. Pull servo linkage to swash plate off
6. Hold swash plate level
7. Adjust servo linkage via turn buckles to meet level swash plate (make sure servo white arm does not move)
8. Snap servo linkage onto swash plate
9. Turn heli on then radio let bind
NEVER flown anything in my life....needless to say it crashed alot before i got the hang of hovering. crashed into grass, pavement, cement block wall. the fly bar was bent....straightened that out and flew again. i just cracked the main blade tho :(...but its still flying well. flying is hard. i oreder a 959 quad to help my practice my hovering tailin, tail out etc orientation. very happy about this buy tho.
btw...what does pcb stand for.
The MJX F45 is a much better motor than the original that comes in the V912
1st try main board
2nd try main motor.
3rd try both
Any one else want to weigh in on this?
PS; Make sure your receiver wire on the main board is not broken or cut short, make sure its soldered onto the main boards good. Make sure its not bare and rubbing against anything.
Let us know how you make out...One pilot to another ...Fly Hard Brotha...TBT
have you tried the mjx motor?

Hi Terry, do the motors burn out too easily? Thanks man
Yes the main motor can. I would advise you to buy the brushless V912 then the only thing is the trail motor. That motor does not burn out fast and is cheap and easy to replace. Blue Sky's & Full Throttle Brotha...TBT
Thanks for tip. Full speed Bro!!!

Hey Terry: Man I am frustrated, I hope I didn't make a mistake. What I did
was order a V12 heli since I have the v11.
The problem is I sent away for it over 2 weeks ago, and now they are saying
estimated delivery date is oct 7 thru the 30th. I have no patience. I
wanted to get it from Bangood but they didn't have it.
I even sent the company a e-mail trying to cancel the order and figured I
would get it somewhere else. and got no reply back.
have you ever had this problem?
This Heli will hold a 808 camera. I mounted a 808 #20 HD camera to the bottom. I had no problem flying it and getting some great HD videos with it.
I used a small gauge speaker wire for my antenna
Im checkin out of the loop,Best to Terry and everybody.I replaced the swash plate on my 2nd v912,now it flies backwards like the 1st one.Its just not worth the effort and worry.Like in romance, the bad outweighs the good.I wish Id never heard of a ---------------- -------------- rc helicopter. Thanks for everything.
correction it not the v913 its the MJX F45 Aluminium Ball Helicopter Part F45-001 it fits on top of the v912. alternative way of limiting the "range" of the flybar
if u cud maybe do a vid showing how to replace the flybar i wud like that. i think that is probably the most likely thing i am gonna dammage.
7-6-13 after 43 flights the main motor went out on my V912. I have a spare motor and other spare parts on order from banggood but I know it will be a couple weeks until they get here. I ordered a motor from Walkera-esky out of Ca. for 5.69. Within 5 days
it was on my door step.
