Time really is flying by. Here is a 1 year update on my beautiful Tudor Black Bay Bronze in Slate Grey. Let me know what is your favourite characteristic and if you agree with the comments I have made in the review or not. And if you want a drinking game, take a shot of your favourite drink everytime I say 'beautiful' in this video 😂☕️🙌🏻
It’s beautiful. Never thought it would go green naturally. Something to look forward too. Also you need to use the bezel more, it’s green under there too
Thank you. And I didn’t think it would go green either but at least I was able to clean it off without affecting the brown patina. And I can try to use the bezel but honestly cant think of any scenario where I would 😔🙌🏻
Great video(s)! Thank you. I find this watch very interesting. Is it possible to get both a leater strap and the fabric? And if so, would there be any downsides to switch between?
@@111076tom Glad you enjoyed the video. And the watch doesn't come with both the straps in the box, so you will need to get the other one ordered from a local AD. And as far as I know, there are no downsides to switching between the straps.
Great review and a beautiful watch you have there. I don’t think those straps were made for a divers watch. Surely the fabric would weaken if you swam every day with it. What are your thoughts?
You can adjust the strap from the buckle end. Make it shorter and use the holes below. Just push and pull the fabric through making it longer under the strap.
Pak Yeoh Thank you for the kind words 🙏🏻 I kinda tried to do that with the picture overlay but unfortunately the lighting and even the camera was way different when I had first done the unboxing video. But I will keep your feedback in mind for all future videos 🙌🏻
Hey great review! I dont have this watch but I am considering purchasing the fabric strap for my bb58. May I know if you have gotten the strap wet much? Also, how do you clean it? It costs quite a bit to buy separately so I would like to know how it holds up to the daily elements. Thank you!
Thank you 🙏🏻 BB58 is a great watch. As for the fabric strap, I have only taken it for a dip at the beach once. But even before that, the strap had started lengthening naturally. Depending on your wrist size, this might be a problem as I have now run out of holes on the strap. So I have switched the strap to one I bought off Amazon and I will look at getting more holes punched in the OEM strap. And I personally have never felt the need to clean the strap tbh. Hope this helps.
mine is coming wednesday, i hope i love it as much as i love all the vids of it, i like how all bronze versions will have a look of their own, great vids!
Thank you & congratulations!! I am sure you will. Videos don't do this watch justice. It is a special watch in reality and only gets better with time. Enjoy it in good health my friend.
@@AnIndianAbroad yes i have had it 1 hour and it makes the seamaster i sold to fund it look very average actually, its hard to not look at im very impressed and i got new for £2695 so im very happy, definately keeping, and thank you it was your vids that sold it to me!
Wow. You got a cracking deal my friend. Especially as the prices have increased since I bought it. And glad to know my videos were helpful. Please do checkout the links in description to help support the channel 🙏🏻
Beautiful watch! Way out of my budget, but maybe some day. I think the uneven patina on the left side of the case is caused by oils from your arm. Just like oiling a gun will prevent rust, the oils from your skin are preventing oxidation.
Thank you & definitely one to put on your bucket list may be. The left side has always seen less/uneven patina compared to the right side. Never really figured out for sure why that is but either way its a very enjoyable watch.
How durable is this watch? Can it be worn fixing your car or gardening without getting scuffed and scratched? Can it take a bash and knock on a wall or similar? I have the steel gmt pepsi but am scared to wear it, so thinking about changing it for the bronze
No watch will take that kind of treatment without showing it. But, BB Bronze is meant to look rugged, and a few dings and scuffs will just add more character to an already characterful watch. Mine is brand new and I intend for it to do everything with me. I’ll keep my shiny Rolex and Panerai for the less dangerous outings on the wrist. It is a fantastic watch!!!
Thanks for this awesome review! I absolutely love the looks of this watch and I‘m checking reviews and pictures since it‘s release. But there was one thing, I wasn‘t sure about the bronze and patina. I‘m owning the Tudor Black Bay Chrono since 16 months and I think the Tudor Black Bay Bronze has to be added to it! Love the Bronze, love the Dial and proportions, it‘s such a great watch 😎👌 But this needs a little more time 😬 It was really fun to watch your reviews and see you enjoying yours, great job!!!! 👍
Thank you so much for the kind words Karl 🙏🏻 This BBB is definitely a worthy addition to any collection and honestly speaking, I quite literally just went for the looks with this one. Back in 2019, I had no idea what Tudor/Black Bay was. Only after I fell in love with this one did I research about the brand and got myself into this expensive hobby 🙈😂 Glad to hear you enjoyed the videos. Stay tuned for the next one 😬🙌🏻
Hi. Have one too. The patina grows into it beautifully. Btw mine is also almost a year. Some green on 2 spots. So with only water moist cottonbud can clean up d green? Appreciate your reply.
Hope you are enjoying watching the patina develop. And yes, a moist cotton bud and then wipe (scrape) it off with a dry tissue did it for me 😃 hope this helps.
So torn between buying this watch or saving up a bit more for the Harrods edition! I'm in love with both and the green is just my vibe, so is the vintage look of the Bronze... Decisions! This would be my first proper watch.
That is a very tough decision. Two completely different watches in my opinion but both have so much going for them. If I was you, I would try both the watches on my wrist and buy the one that gives me the vibe. And if you still can’t decide after that, then may be save up even more and get both 😂🙈 All the best with your purchase and do let me know which one you went for when you do 🙌🏻
If you're not sure about getting a bronze watch, buy one of the chinese microbrands like Heimdallr or San Martin. They make a very solid bronze watch for the cost. Heimdallr uses bronze aluminum (like the BBB) but most other use CuSn8. Steinhart makes one thats somewhat similar to the BBB albeit at a higher price point than the microbrands. Bronze watches aren't for everyone, especially if you're the sorts of "it must keep looking like new" crowd. You do get some staining around the wrist to. If you want the best bronze watch, this or the bronze are the best...and the bronzo costs 4x for no particular reason.
Rusty Shackleford Yeah I’ve been looking the the BBB for a while now and I’m 100% sure about wanting to own one. I love the fact it will develop a patina and for a first watch I think it would be cool to have a watch that really becomes yours through the patina. For me it’s just about if I get a BBB or save up more for a Harrod’s.
Dennis Wild I was in a similar dilemma like you about a year ago. I ended up choosing a watch that grows with me and reminds me of how I have changed over the years, ever since I first landed at London Heathrow 🛬🙋🏻♂️
Been wearing it 5 days a week. Switching to a Gshock for the weekend. Got other watches but these are the only 2 I wear these days. Worn in once in the ocean (barely 10 minutes) - never in the pool. Hope this helps :)
I have the same watch coming to a year now. I totally agree with you specially the shade of this special grey dial. It’s so unique and looks great lighter in the center and darker going out. 👍👍
Damm, i was sure i wanted to get the blackbay P 01 today after trying it on last week. It banged me after putting it on my wrist. My Saleslady seems to no me better than i do myself. She showed me this bronce one in blue and black. Both so beautiful and i couldn t decide today. Tomorrow im aiming for the black 1. The dial is a bomb. My first watch without a date function, sh.... who cares. What did i go there for again? Cant remember ;-). Fantastic review....
One year on already for me as well my friend, and I agree all I will wipe away is the green tinge with a moist cotton bud. I have it on the leather strap, but must admit that the Tudor material straps are a work of art in themselves. I agree with you on all points except the case thickness after all it is based on the 1950s submariner. The build quality fit and finish are unsurpassed as opposing watch brands at a similar price point. Thank you for sharing your great video Sir 👍 Tam.
Glad you enjoyed the video my friend. I love the leather strap too but it just did not sit right on my (tiny) wrist and aesthetically, I wasn’t keen on the gap between the case and where the leather strap starts. And the case thickness was more of a ‘something to be aware of’ rather than a dislike tbh. And totally agree with you on the build quality, fit and finish - I have no idea how any other watch could improve on that even for something way above this price bracket. Absolutely love this watch to bits 🙌🏻
Thank you for the comment. Can you please share a link for the rubber strap? And I have now put a replacement nato strap I got from Amazon which works very well but it would be good to know more options :)
Thank you 🙏🏻 glad you find them interesting. It is an incredibly beautiful, well made and addictive watch. I still wear this more than all my other watches 👌🏻
Another option for the slowly lengthening strap causing you to soon run out of holes is to take the strap to a professional watch repair shop and have a few more matching holes punched into it. Just make sure they have the proper punch that perfectly matches the original holes. Perhaps a Tudor/Rolex AD that offers repairs.
This is kind of cool. It's like mood metal. You can shine it up again anytime you want. That's the best part of bronze. Other than that. It has a penny and keys smell on your fingers when you rotate the bezel.
Love a bronze watch. So much character and seeing the patina change everyday keeps me hooked onto a watch for longer. Haven’t really focused on the smell aspect of a bronze watch though - something to talk about in future videos 😄
I could have sworn I heard/read that somewhere too but honestly its not as widespread or bad as it probably looks on camera. I have only had to clean it once since I got the watch and its not come back yet.

This might come off rude… I know it’s called patina and has nothing to do with dirt but since is looking dirty called beautiful?
The darker brown goes very well with the black.

Nice Review, Nice Watch. I am one of those people who does not patina. I would clean it regality.
Thank you. Patina is definitely not for everyone but I love the ever changing nature of it, so far.
Does the patina affect the bezel rotation over time in any way?
Nope. I haven’t felt any difference in the bezel operation since the day I got it.
No, I have the older nd newer versions of this Bronze model.
