    Finally I now know what to look for. I have heard of all those terms but really didn’t know what each term meant. I have the ARBA book but it says all those things without explaining them as well as you did. I am also a visual learner so this really helped.

    May I ask how often do you practice posing with your babies?

    • @HollysHollandsRabbitry
      @HollysHollandsRabbitry  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Mary Shortt with these babies I didn't practice very much because I've been busy. However genetics have a huge part to play in whether or not they can sit. Practice just teaches good manners. For these ones I practiced about once a week, but even with the first time posing some of them were naturals. Usually I try to pose them every couple days starting at 4 weeks old.

      Can i keep one male and female rabbit together in one cage (8 weeks old) if yes than how long?

    • @HollysHollandsRabbitry
      @HollysHollandsRabbitry  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Jidan rocks at gaming and everything they can stay together until 10 weeks at the latest, I've had a doe.get pregnant at 12 weeks so they must be separated by then or whenever the buck gets his testicles. If he has them now, he needs to be separated

    Hi Holly! Great video! The babies are looking so beautiful 😍 I have a question- is there any color that is more desirable in judging or are they all looked upon the same? Thanks! Love watching! 🐰💕

    • @HollysHollandsRabbitry
      @HollysHollandsRabbitry  7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      +Aubrey Holdover great question! Obviously there are colors that are not recognized by the ARBA and will be disqualified if shown, but judges are supposed to judge each recognized color equally. However they don't always. Some judges don't like color and always choose torts as their top winners. I don't know why but all judges are different and you can never predict it.

      Holly's Hollands Rabbitry Thanks so much for answering! I love your videos so much. I am the proud mama of a Holland Lop I adopted almost 7 months ago and she's my world 😊 After watching your video tonight I went and "judged" her characteristics! She's certainly not a show doe but she's my beauty! My boyfriend was in stitches laughing at me! 😂🐰

    I am planning to buy a holland lop soon and I have been researching for a long time. I was going to get a younger bunny until I went to a rabbitry and learned that 2 years of age and older are better, because the younger rabbits will have a certain attitude at 2 months and stay that way until they reach 2 years old and get spayed/neutered. Should I be getting a younger holland lop or a older holland lop?

    • @HollysHollandsRabbitry
      @HollysHollandsRabbitry  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +prkwon1 you can spay/neuter a rabbit at 6 months. 2 month old babies are usually sweet and very friendly but around 4-6 months is when they can develop a tude because they want to be bred. I recommend a younger rabbit because not all rabbits live long lives, but ultimately it depends on what you want because you can't go wrong either way. Older rabbits are often easier to train and bond with.

    terrible job u judge them on posing

    • @bubbleteaproductions15
      @bubbleteaproductions15 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      PITBULLS4LIFE 1 With show rabbits you have to judge them on posing and how they look and feel like in the pose, as well as personality and attitude (making sure they are bitey or aggressive, because that's not something you want to breed in your bloodlines or show because of the amount of handling that requires).

    • @HollysHollandsRabbitry
      @HollysHollandsRabbitry  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +LPS Riley personality and attitude is not judged. It depends on the judge, but I've seen mean biting bucks and does go up for Best of Breed. Some judges don't tolerate it at all.

    • @bubbleteaproductions15
      @bubbleteaproductions15 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Holly's Hollands Rabbitry I personally try not to keep mean or aggressive rabbits, but judging based on posing comes before that.

    • @HollysHollandsRabbitry
      @HollysHollandsRabbitry  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +LPS Riley lol I don't either, I just meant that judges don't judge on personality or else all mine would win hah

    I've been wanting to find a breed standard rabbit. What are a few things that judges like to see? My black broken tort buck harry doesn't like to be involuntary posed but he does it on his own when he wants to. He doesn't want to hold his head up when I try to pose him. I think his ears are to big and has weak in the hindquarters. How do you see that they have weak bones? I read the ARBA standard I have the same book. But I don't understand it well.
