After our Civil War, we failed to eliminate the sick and demented culture of the south. General Sherman failed to complete his tasks.
Out of that came the rebels' hatred of America, hatred of black people, and the modern GOP.
We should complete Sherman's mission, IMO, so we can have a country that isn't being attacked by evil. That way, we can stop the vile Repubs from ensuring that all criminals have access to murder weapons.
Hard to help a now sinking ship. The country is 3rd world when it comes to a means to live. A small minority is still a voice in America. With voting restrictions and certain American individuals only want this country for themselves. No one else. America is the big gun toting cowboy we always have been. I blame this on the fact that our nation is that compared to a teenage angst child.
America still likes busting into places with guns blazing, how elegant? NOT! The USA has turned to crap. This nation is still far too young to learn anything about cultural differences and humanity. Being a young nation, it can’t even begin to take advise from other established nations that have been here for centuries. No, USA wants to still be a kid in diapers with its guns.
Today I was reflecting on George Floyd. I remember several countries protested. I told my co-workers, my friends - that this would bring change. My co-worker said, "no it won't, things will just go back to normalcy." I think he was right. Same thing with mass shootings. We always say, "this is the last time." Then 24hrs later, I read the news. NOTHING IS CHANGING! I'm disgusted, furious, and I'll admit - hopeless.
Sadly, mass shootings have been the "normalcy" for the longest time now. Hardly a day goes by in the US without at least one. Statistically, there are even several per day. Some get more media attention than others, some aren't even mentioned, because they happen too frequently.

As kids in Schools continue to die from shootings Politicians say "we can't make new laws to Restrict the Type of Guns available, How they are stored or who is entitled to own them because of 2A"
But those same Politicians have no problem Creating Laws Banning Drag, Books, Classes teaching the True History of Blacks in America & talk about LGBTQ Understanding in Schools because "We need to protect the children".
Funny how they can't do anything because of 2A, but F**K 1A Freedom of Speech & Religion "We need to protect the children"
Feeling the same way
As a country we have chosen to sacrifice our children so that the politicians can continue to get NRA money. Only 1/3 of Americans own guns and the vast majority of us favor more strict gun control. The gun nuts often say they need weapons to protect the country from tyranny. We are living under their tyranny and every child is being terrorized as a result. Tragic is too weak a word.
We have had countless mass shootings but for some reason this one is bothering me a lot more.
I hate this feeling of hopelessness and I wish I could believe all politicians would start to feel the same way but I highly doubt they care.
They continue to say the same line after every shooting with thoughts and prayers to the victims.
“They can’t be shamed, because they aren’t acting out of integrity”. That’s it, in a nutshell
We ARE ashamed and embarrassed of her. This hearing was so important......she has to go.

By population Georgia has voted blue a surprising amount, but the districts have been gerrymandered to give backwoods rural rednecks and hillbillys a disproportionate wight. She will keep winning unless the people running Georgia substantially redraw district lines in a manner that would kick nearly all of them out of office.

My Dad fought in WWII also. Plus, he worked as a custodian at an elementary school. I'm pretty sure he would not have been happy that the kids would have to participate in active shooter drills.
