- Arboretum Dam on Euroa is one of the many stocked small fishing waterways littered across Victoria.
It is stocked by the Victorian Fisheries Authority regularly with Silver Perch, Golden Perch and trout in the winter months.

I know I'm late to the game, but thought I'd say thanks for this one anyway.
I'm heading out that way in a few weeks to take my son on his first overnight camping/fishing trip. We're passing through a number of places, but Euroa caught my eye with the creek running through it. So here's me thinking, 'I bet Robbie's been to Euroa at some point.' And I was right - but it was at this dam (and more than just once)! So looks like this is where we'll be stopping. Thanks, Robbie!

Hey buddy it still does. They put them in there in the winter months. No doubt this will be stocked with trout again these winter school holidays.

*It's stocked VERY heavily with fish making it sustainable.
*It's there for everyone, not just 1 or 2 selfish arseholes.
*My licence goes towards stocking this waterway every bit as much as there's does, meaning that I (and everybody else) own it every bit as much as they do.
*Euroa businesses with not hate me. If I can drive traffic to their small town to spend money then that's a very good thing for the Euroa community.
These locals you speak of, surely they're not that selfish are they? I hope not.... because I have 2 more videos being released from this spot very soon.

I have caught rainbow trout here, silver perch and some yellow belly over 30 cm. Also did get a turtle one time.
Awesome little fish. Apparently there is Macquarie perch in the creeks and river near me haven't got one yet 🪱🤓

Hi mate, I think it is being caused by the wind. The windier it is the weirder my voice becomes. LOL
You might have to try some weed, as the silvers are omnivorous, it is believed the diet changes from shrimp/yabby/worm to a vegetarian diet in larger fish. Could explain why they seem to disappear in lakes; who fishes for them with weed/algae?
Thanks Ross, I have heard that. Apparently they get some monsters in fish surveys thay never get caught on bait.
I do think that these ponds are only new fisheries though, so we need to allow time for them to grow.
@@robbiefishing heaps of silvers were released into Lake Hume years ago, with little return to anglers, probably because they had turned all vegan!!!

I believe there is a very healthy population in cataract dam. I'm not sure whether you're allowed to fish there or not though.

Cataract is near here but is water catchment for Sydney water, so no go. Although, there have been talks to open some of the catchment dams, which would be amazing. Here's hoping.
