    Hi Mark, thank you for all your videos, they are really fantastic.
    Is it enough to clean my BCD as you explained, or is it also essential to send it to service or replace the K-valve once a year or something?

      @ScubaDiverMagazine  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It's good to have your BCD inspected and serviced at least once a year. Most inflators can be serviced and replace any worn O-rings. If your BCD has a K style inflator and you're fairly tool savvy then it's something you can do yourself.
      If you're ever unsure though you can always take your BCD in to your LDC and they can service it for you. Some inflators require special tools and some are non-repairable so, once they're faulty you replace the whole inflator assembly.
      I made a video about disassembling a K-style inflator here:

      Thanks a lot!
      I bought XDeep Zeos BCD after you reviewed it, and I found it very comfort and proffessional BCD.

    What was the name of the detergent to wash my BCD?

    • @ScubaDiverMagazine
      @ScubaDiverMagazine  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It depends on how nasty the water is. For clean water then I just use regular dish soap. For something stronger I'd look at something like GearAid Revivex or Chemgene HLD4L.

    Would you dump water through the dump valve to rinse that too? What to pressurize the bcd when it is empty to remove last water through the dump valve?

  • @danielpritchard9188

    For a back- inflate BCD often I need to rotate the BCD and pull the dump valves a few times to ensure that all areas of the BCD have been drained. With storage of my BCD in a hot garage in California I am concerned that I am not doing enough by just flushing - maybe the detergent is a safer option. Thoughts?

      Absolutely no harm in whacking some cleaner inside the bladder - it won't do it any harm, and it might just get rid of any stubborn germs hanging on in there that don't get flushed out by simply rinsing.

  • @BingSurjawan
    @BingSurjawan 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Whenever I try to dry the inside part, theres always a few spoonfuls of water left inside the bladder since neither the purge nor the hose is flat on bottom when hanged. Wondering how to get a bone dry state though.

    Covering the new recommendations for cleaning/disinfecting regulators next? Seems like you'd want to be able to clean both at the same time.

    Cold water, hot water?

  • @PedroOjeda

    Everyone says dry it... But how the heck do you dry the inside of the BCD? Do I leave all the dump valves removes for airflow or something?

    • @alaincaspar2148
      @alaincaspar2148 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you drain it as much as you can and then you inflate it, let it with some air for a day or two, deflate it and repeat the process several times, the water inside will evaporate and the moisty air will be replaced by dry air (at least that's what I think !). It should be dry after a while... Removing the valves, it depends of the BCD and the valves, sometime it seems effective, sometime not.
