I just love both of you! You are so sweet and are excellent teachers. You break everything down step by step and speak clearly. You make learning this craft fun and easy and I appreciate the time it took you to make these videos. God Bless. :)

The shelf paper is a good idea- I'd heard of just drilling into a block of s submerged scrap wood before, but never this. I'll give it a try, thanks!

I am mystified as to why you would use a glass backing UNDER THE RUBBER MAT instead of wood. This seems counter intuitive and wrong. Wood should be the preferred material, not a thin, fragile piece of glass to drill on top of.
This is the same question asked by the person below my comment. I understand why you used the rubber mat. The question is why did you use a glass sheet instead of a wood block behind the sea glass you were drilling?

I use the same type of material i am drilling thru so the bit doesnt jump when it hits some different material, I also dont want to drill thru my little water filled tub, so the glass helps with both of these. I am sure some people have used other methods but this one has worked well for me for over 30 years. I hope that helps explain it a bit better. Thank you for asking and viewing my video
