Many years ago, rather young, and listening to others instead of the man himself, I realized later than I should have what an intelligent & good man Pres. Reagan was. I have listened for some years now to all his speeches I may, on internet...also have read books (and hear) the many speeches of President Kennedy and find out what fine men they both were. I hope/pray we will have leaders like these two men soon. In 2022 I say this. This a great speech.

I was born in Liverpool England in 1982, so I don’t remember much of Reagan. But I do always remember growing up believing he was a sort of joke figure. I think it was popular culture that lead me to think that way, but I’m not sure. This speech blows all those thoughts out the water. Wow! The world needs a leader like this man, right now. Impeccable.

How old are you? Gorbachev had intellectual prowess. Reagan, republicans, Washington underestimated Gorbachev; initially thinking that Gorbachev was a typical Soviet mold of old stodgy generic leadership. As soon as Gorbachev became leader of USSR he was on a mission to transform the country into a modern family of the world. Washington was stunned when Gorbachev brought down the Berlin Wall. Absolutely stunned. They didn't trust Gorbachev. They actually thought it was a trick! I remember that. But they were happy later. I was there

I'm not ashamed to admit i almost teared up at times with Reagan's beutiful delivery about Russia's history and culture and the hope for peace and freedom.
How i would have loved to see the US and USSR finally come together in peace after all the decades of conlfict they went through.
This being towards the end of the cold war with the Soviet Union undergoing rapid reform and change, finally opening up to things like this.

As one, well in age "old man" life has shown me that it's not about me, but what I can and should do for others. I stayed lost most of my life searching for the good life and working for something that escaped me. Marriage, companionship, children so full of life, wealth, and friendship, but I had nothing until I was free. After years a hole in my soul was filled in an instance and for good, because of my salvation in Jesus christ. President Reagan, a great man, a great American, still causes a stirring in my heart with his words of peace and strength. We need that so much today. President Trump, in like manor, stirs my heart today and causes me to stop and reflect on that feeling, which brings me to my knees in prayer, for he and his family, my country and we the people. God bless the children of God, Our Flag, our family, and peace to everyone

Thank you so much for your great messages Mr President Reagan always will remember and Appreciated the Sentiment of university of Soviet Union and United States of America founded on the fact time for choosing I am found this counsel to be true with faith and sacrifices we support forward throughout the world to make changes for better consequences and don't cause unnecessary stress to each person, President Donald John Trump with power effectively forcing the Republic Government, also we were taught about the plan of salvation during pre-earth life which Jesus Christ our lord 🙏 was chosen as the saviour and the light of the world and that through Him we would be able to overcome the effects of our wrong choices and the important part of our Heavenly father plan was for us to come to earth to received a phisical body and to learn to make correct choices, sometimes we would not remember living in Heavenly father is presence but He give us the ability to know right from wrong.

I disagree. Reagan worked tirelessly to support a unified America. #45 did more to tear us further apart than any other president. Reagan was a moderate, conservative in some policies while progressive in others. He wa a great proponent of the first amendment. Trump's "personality" was a problem, but only a small part.

@@lisabauer9123 Regan's being "progressive" was within the normal meaning of "progress". Today the word "progressive" somehow stands for Socialist, a gateway to Communism.

@@lisabauer9123 I disagree about your comment on President Trump. It’s the media and the Democrats that divided this country. The biggest problem with Trump was he has zero restraint. That ultimately was his downfall. Nothing about his rhetoric suggested he was a racist, misogynist, or some sort of “divider”. The media’s tendency to take his words out of context and ultimately the Democrats opportunistic and deceptive actions are the problem (and still is). To be honest I never wanted Trump to be president due to his poor public perception that made it easy for his opponents to attack. But I voted for him because there is nobody capable in the GOP. There was nothing wrong about Trump’s policies.
RIP President Reagan there will never be any leader like him again.
