It is all not "efortless". The guitar was probably recorder few times not in one take. Vocals are processed AF as always with Charlie (not dissing. I like his style, he is always admitting that he is doing lots of autotune on himself and i respect that ;)

I don't think he forgot his song at this moment, he just did it for fun, it definitely does happen to artists though. I think it worked because of how repetitive this song is...I wish the guitarist didn't make some mistakes here and there, otherwise this would be my preferred version of the song to listen to. I love how he sang this song!

I thought the audio was prerecorded ..until 2:25 .... I was like what!!!..

The audio is live recorded with probably no retakes, but his voice is still edited. Then they just shot a video to the audio. So yea pre-recorded. His mistake was real, but to go as far to record the video and "fake" the mistake, hmm.
Guys its actually pretty obvious that this is pre-recorded... How did they record the acoustic guitar so cleanly? And vocals? No microphone on guitar, no microphone on vocals and if it was from cam's microphone both vocals and guitar would pick up room reflections and it wouldn't be such clean audio...

Charlie reminds me of my last year college life, I used to copy lab work from others and make a slight mistake in the middle and used to go to teacher saying "it is almost done, but this thing I have tried several times, but nothing is working out."
