Nice videos. I lived in Mauritania for a few years never thought I’d want to go back. Now that I’m back into motorcycling and after watching your videos. Think I might just go back via Morocco
Great video and keep up the good work, you are showing Africa as it is and not something to be feared. Some of these places you are staying at are priceless.
Well done you ,when you have the time when you are not riding you can alway right a book of your travels, keep safe looking forward to the next update.🏍👍
Two Wheel Review glad you went by my country of birth Senegal 🇸🇳.i wish they had the Dakar Rally still around that part of the map .but one day I’ll do like you and travel around Africa on a bike since I got an ecowas passport it’ll be a little easier to travel around the west coast of Africa...be safe
Awesome adventure! Welcome to 3rd world, full of "surprises" ("good surprises" and "not so good surprises")! Jaja... My advise (you probably are doing it already): keep your family informed about the route you take day by day, just in case a phone call to the embassy "unlock" you from typical situations in 3rd world... i´m from Argentina, i know a little about corruption problems sadly... Keep smiling! Ride safe!
Harvey my hat goes off to you what a trip this is, you certainly know your stuff i am probably twice your age and i think i would have just caved in and payed what they asked for in fear of something happening but you stood your ground well done. The places you are visiting are totally brilliant and i really envy what you are doing, i think it was your Ireland visit when you bought your Varadero when i told you that you inspired me to do a road trip, well we are just around our country ha ha nothing on your scale, take care ride safe and i will look forward to your next video, Kind Regards Mark....
Been recommending your channel to BMW and Horizons Unlimited friends. I say it's that killer sense of humor and good nature will get you through in fine shape. Another round-the-world friend agrees with me that nothing gets you a better travel experience in strange places than a quick smile (with glances behind you, too). Vouchsafe.
Seriously loving your adventures. Keep meaning to make a youtube channel of my own and travel all over the place - Keep up the good work mate! Love ittt
Just watched your last Africa installment, and had I known, you could have popped over to Cape Point (20 mins from Banjul) for a beer, as Im having a weeks R&R (5* hotel styley) after my multistrada spill in Morocco last October, which Jambo reported. Anyway, safe travels chap, and mind those pot holes.
Just loving these Harvey. I was once traveling through Japan for three weeks and I met the same family about six times in different cities randomly! Six times!!! World is small!
I used to work in W. Africa and had to argue every time I'd go through a road block to and from work! In Nigeria because of frequent power cuts you'd need a generator, the only way NEPA (electric Co.) would allow us to have one was if it went through their meter! So we ended up paying for a generator+fuel and then had to pay NEPA for the electric we generated!
Checked a few times waiting for the next video .We were getting worried about you. You are breaking the myth that Africa is only for the hard core and making it a possibility for Europe riders like myself . Thanks Harvey.
Great context mate. Just wanted to give you a couple tips to add some extra spice to the vids. I think it would be good if you could bring up a map while explaining your location - just to give your viewers the sense of scale on your journey. Also would be interesting to see pictures of you visiting the sites while you’re talking over them - don’t think we’re after 100% video clips all the time. Just my two cents 👌
Absolutely awesome! I had the same issue in Central America with border guards/people in general at the border seeing a gringo coming and just thinking they can make up fees, charges or whatever. Usually I’m smiley and friendly too, but it soon wears thin and I learned to toughen up too! All part of the adventure.
Very brave ride, hats off to you. Be careful with the sealer on the gas tank, seen a lot of problems of it braking off and causing big problems down the road. Better to carry extra gaskets. Which tank did you get by the way?
when you are applying visa in foreign country you have to give your passport to the embassy, right? and it will take 2-3(approx) days to get the visa. so how do you travel this 2-3 days without a passport in a foreign country?
Sounds like there is quite a bit of corruption among the government employees, I’m glad they didn’t try something serious like trying to arrest you or something like that. Looks like you are having an amazing adventure, continued safe travels for you.
As far as I am aware West Africa has been declared ebola free since Jan 2018, Haven't come across many snakes or scorpions, they're typically scared of humans
Lovin' these updates matey - keep 'em comin!
Thanks for the continued support TMF!

I’m really enjoying watching these African videos. I’m up to part 4 (couldn’t find part 3). What a great trip!
Well done you ,when you have the time when you are not riding you can alway right a book of your travels, keep safe looking forward to the next update.🏍👍
Thanks Ian, i certainly am planning on writing a book, theres so much that has happened that not recorded that need to be told :)

Cheers John!
Glad you're stubborn in not paying the bribes, good on you.
Good old character building exercise, sad reality is these border officials are often making more money than doctors and even teachers!

Be careful with the sealer on the gas tank, seen a lot of problems of it braking
off and causing big problems down the road.
Better to carry extra gaskets.

Im following you on the map like I was there.....but at least I have a clean face !!
Aren't you scared of for example ebola?and what's with snakes and scorpions?
As far as I am aware West Africa has been declared ebola free since Jan 2018, Haven't come across many snakes or scorpions, they're typically scared of humans
Two Wheel Review ok....and how do you make safe that you've got enough water and fuel?😅
Maybe youll find your love for life there;) my dad did so and i came out lol
Unluckily his bikw got stolen on kenya and the guy who stole it crashed it because they werent used to such powerfull bikes, ir was a honda xl 500
What a story haha
Why not just tip them a buck or something? You put it in the passport before you give it to them
You sound adrenaline pumped mate dont blame you. Foreign border peoples asking for £ id be the same.
Spot on! Now im used to the process so its become the norm
Spooky thumbnail
Great videos, didn't you expect the corruption?
It's a given at African borders.
Keep up the good work.
So far the only 2 borders I've been asked for bribes are senegal and Gambia! Currently in Benin
