HGSS using only gen 2 pokemon is borderline impossible because it has the most atrocious pokemon placement in the series, but that could be cool for any other region
@hei7876 Absolutely not impossible - there's not a vast amount of variety, but there's several great Johto pokemon available to you before the elite four.

Great timing on this one. I just started a new playthrough of Pokémon HeartGold, and I've been thinking of ideas for the team. This will give me some fantastic ideas to stea- I mean, try and emulate.
As a 26 y/o man who can’t remember a world without Pokémon, I’m VERY excited to say that last night I finally beat Red for the first time! I simply had never put in the effort before because his levels are so high, but grinding on the elite four the past couple weeks until I was mid 70’s was a lot faster and more fun than I expected. And I can’t express enough how excited and proud I am to finally be able to say I beat Red! Anywho, here’s the team: Crobat @ Muscle Band - Fly - Confuse Ray - U-turn - Poison Fang Gastrodon @ Amulet Coin - Surf - Body Slam - Mud Bomb - Mud Slap Gengar @ Luck Incense - Shadow Ball - Hypnosis - Confuse Ray - Psychic Snorlax @ Leftovers - Rock Climb - Rollout - Crunch - Giga Impact Magnezone @ Metal Coat - Discharge - T-Wave - Mirror Shot - Zap Cannon And my favorite boy of all time! Heracross @ Choice Scarf - Brick Break - Shadow Claw - Megahorn - Close Combat
My last SS team had: -Meganium -Golem -Crobat -Scizor -Espeon -Tentacruel Not the easiest to put together and use, but I EV trained all mons and had a smooth playthrough. Overall, very good defensive synergy. Offensively, Espeon and Scyther destroyed everything in Johto except for Jasmine. Really good mons. I was mostly surprised at the Chikorita/Geodude combo at the beginning of the game - these two complement each other perfectly. Highly recommended.
My recent team for Soul Silver this past summer was pretty interesting: Typhlosion Nidoking Dragonite Misdreavus/Mismagius Magneton Lapras Typhlosion is of course my starter, which I tried to optimize as much as possible with moves like Eruption. I tried to use items like Charcoal, Choice Specs and Choice Scarf for maximum efficiency. I trained it with a lot of Special Attack and Speed EVs. Nidoking was one of team’s physical attackers, but I also liked to use it as a Toxic Spikes lead, which helped in my battle against Clair, namely her Kingdra. Poison Jab + Adamant Nature is a really good combo. I also packed Megahorn for coverage. Magneton was the team’s resident Steel-type, but I specifically made it to be very tanky instead of a regular special attacker. The one I caught had a Bold nature, and then I EV trained it until it was nothing but a ton of physical bulk along with some HP and Special Defense mixed in. It had moves like Discharge and Flash Cannon, but I also had Thunder Wave to go along with its support role. For Lapras, I actually originally planned for it to be Vaporeon, but you can’t really get one until the post-game except for Fisherman Tully. I tried SO HARD to be patient to get the Water Stone, but it just didn’t happen. Because of that, Lapras was the last addition to the team. Lapras proved to be an amazing alternative though, having a higher BST, and unlike Vaporeon, it actually learns Ice Beam by Level-Up, meaning I didn’t have to do the Game Corner stuff to teach it Ice Beam. It really helped in some of the battles like Lance. Interestingly, I pack Rain Dance on it to not only help it’s Water attacks deal more damage, but also just in case there were instances of someone trying to set up other weather conditions. This helped during my rematch against Pryce, since he had a Snow Warning Abomasnow. My Dragonite was the one you can get from the Dragon’s Den with Extreme Speed if you prove yourself. I commited myself to try to get it to be the best it could be, making sure it had a good nature, then training it up until it had good Attack and Speed stats. I actually beat the League when it was still a Dragonair, but it still wasn’t too weak. Extreme Speed did help. It only evolved into Dragonite after I got to Kanto. Lastly, Misdreavus. Where do I even begin? I really wanted to use Misdreavus on this playthrough thanks to a certain TH-camr inspiring me to try one on my team. After unlocking the Safari Zone, I did everything I could to get one. Thankfully, the one I got had a pretty good nature and I was able to train it up. The awesome thing was that it learns Shadow Ball through level up, so I didn’t have to use the TM from Morty. It also having Psybeam and Power Gem also gave my team some much-needed coverage attacks. This little guy literally crushed most, if not, all of Will’s team, Koga’s Venomoth and/or Crobat (if I am remembering correctly), Bruno’s Hitmontop and Hitmonchan, Karen’s Gengar (and possibly helped with Vileplume and Murkrow too), and Lance’s Charizard. It also proved helpful in other parts of the journey and the post-game, with it helped against some Poison types, Sabrina, Silver (who I named Casper), and did help a bit with Blue. After getting to Cerulean Cave, I finally got the Dusk Stone and evolved him into Mismagius.

Currently finishing up a HeartGold play through following a similar concept as the team at 3:50, but instead, keeping it to Johto-only Pokemon (following how Red’s Espeon was replaced by Lapras to make a full Kanto team) 1. Typhlosion (starter, owned by Jimmy in The Legend of Thunder!, owned by Gold in Adventures manga) 2. Togetic (gift egg)/Togekiss (post-Rock Climb) 3. Sudowoodo (set encounter) The rest of the team is influenced by Red, Blue, and Green’s teams from Let’s Go and other sources: 4. Politoed (core trio water, owned by Gold in Adventures manga) 5. Sunflora (core trio grass, owned by Gold in Adventures manga) 6. Donphan (HeartGold version exclusive like Red’s Arcanine and Green’s Victreebel and Ninetales were in FireRed/LeafGreen, owned by Ethan in Zoroark: Master of Illusions) After beating the Johto League, Kanto League, and Red; I swapped out Sunflora for Venusaur (gift starter from Oak and Red’s canon starter) and Politoed for Swampert ((gift starter from Steven and Brendan’s canon starter (owned by Brendan in Pokemon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea, owned by Ruby in Adventures manga))
My thought about Shuckle. Is maybe he used Power Swap move or whatever it's called that switches it's attack and defense stats. So maybe he buffed with Defense Curl. Used Power Swap and turned it into a sweeper
I think a 'tank' build with toxic, protect, rest makes more sense, as I believe there is no way to give it a priority move like quick attack. Therefore, after you used power swap, the next attack cycle you literally have like 20 defence and anything with a physical attack would shred it before it could hit with it's slow speed.
My team was: Typhlosion Crobat (Togekiss in Post-game) Ampharos Heracross Lapras Dragonite It was pretty much you're best team for HG/SS Remastered but I replaced Espeon with Dragonite and boy it was an amazing pick for me. This team shredded through the entire game I didn't even lose once because of their Movepools I created it was busted af 😭😭
When displaying the base stats for Fearow, you accidentally flashed the stats for Arcanine. Had to look it up because he really would be the best flyer with those stats! Lol
I think choice specs Lugia is the only way to do much in the post game without stupid amounts of grinding. Which is extremely unfortunate since the post game is supposed to be one of the main appeals of Johto. I really just do think Crystal is better. If you disagree the chances are good (but not guaranteed) of you changing your mind if you actually just play the games more and pay attention. Like buffing opponent levels and movesets while simultaneously nerfing EVs is not a good recipe for enjoyment considering what all red and the elite 4 rematches have. And not being able to buy game corner coins is next level retarded.
The shuckle can be extremely powerful, you see shuckle learns power trick, a move that swaps its defense with its attack, since it has stacked defense and sp defense, if you use power trick you will still have a whole bunch of sp defense, the idea being that if you’re facing almost any sp attacker, you will be able to easily wipe them with your insane amount of attack power, Hopefully this helped! (Like this so people can see)👍
This is why they should do a total remake for the switch! Update the in game nuances to be like all the newer games, graphics of let’s go, give the game some villains worth disliking, give us the opportunity to trade and interact with other trainers like on violet and scarlet! There’s so much they can do to make HeartGold and SoulSilver and maybe a great version Of something like PureCrystal would be 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I’ve done several playthroughs and my fav mons have been: Typhlosion, Feraligatr, Crobat, Heracross, Ampharos, Dragonite, Alakazam, Nidoking, Lapras, Gengar, Scizor, Ursaring, Honchkrow & Skarmory
These are my go to teams (not best I just use my favorites) Typhlosion Noctowl Ampharos Herracross Gyrados (ground type) Feraligator, ampharos, herracross, togekiss, Ho-Oh, rhydon
Shuckle was my among my first experience with competitive pokemon. With no exaggeration it got me to best in my school. Pokemon Emerald Battle Frontier stomped me with it, and similar style Blisseys, Lapras, Meganiums, ect. It was annoying but got the job done. Essentially youd have 1 move deal with evasion/accuracy. 1 heal, 1 chip damage, and the last move could be whatever you please. The meganium had a leech seed varient (heal and chip, very nice and surprisingly effective). And i think ingrain. Lapras had sing. Both could have body slam for paralysis too. And blissey was blissey. All could have rest. Shuckle would have wrap or whatever honestly. I usually gave it toxic, double team, rest, and wrap. Sure it's banned but it stopped my runs. I stopped theirs with anyone I told to run that shuckle if they wanted to win. Your best bet against it was ice
Also, I’ve always gotta have Crobat in my team. He’s just a personal favorite because if you cats a level 2 Zubat you’ll get to Crobat super early in the game.
I wanted to use Charizard in Jotho so gen'd it in and together with Ampharos, Heracross, Lapras, Tyranitar and Alakazam went on an amazing journey to beat Red
My ss team was 1. Typhlosion 2. Kingdra (wanted to use one for a while) 3. Tyranitar (one of my fave Mons) 4. Crobat (never used one) 5. Exeggutor (he was rlly good for me) 6. Snorlax (also one of my favs)
I still play Heartgold to this day ❤ My current team: Tyranitar, Charizard, Ampharos, Heracross, Umbreon and Feraligatr. Red gets obliterated every time I face him 😅 (My team is a slight dig at Gold/Silver Red's team that consists of 5 Gen 1's and 1 Gen 2 😅... Just the other way around! 😁😁) It's so poetic. ❤
Buddy and I are replaying the old game. Hes playing Crystal and I have Gold. The team I am using: Typhlosion, Slowking, Crobat, Umbreon, Ampharos, and Dragonite
This is going to be an extremely grind heavy team for a game like this, most notably the Lance rematch and Red battle. There is little real strategy here. I think Scizor with iron head, return, swords dance, and agility is the best bet for sweeping red and dragon dance ice fang Gyarados for sweeping Lance. But you're going to want to lead with something like Meganium that can light screen/reflect and perhaps paralyze with body slam. Magneton can with thunderwave though both weak against Salamence flamethrower. So maybe rather breed Chikorita line with a Mareep to get light screen/reflect/thunder wave without fire weakness. Though at the end of the day light screen is what matters more. Maybe Charm and Captivate/Memento could fulfill the same function.
yeah, the shittiest starter ever. and for some reason, I thought bayleaf evolved into tropius for years and when I discovered meganium, I was super mad.
@ᴛʜᴇ ɢʜᴏꜱᴛ ᴡʜᴏ ᴡᴀʟᴋꜱ Tropius isn't that good tbh. Sad cause I really love both Meganium and Tropius design wise, but yeah, Meganium is defo one of the worst starters ever (If not the worst)
It was the first starter I ever used and pulled me through all the way to the league in Crystal but I do have to agree. It was pretty horrible using it, but combining it with some support Pokémon really made the team more bearable.
Just finished up a playthrough. Used typhlosion, exeggutor, golem, scizor, granbull and tentacruel. Playing on cartridge but I do have access to trades as I still have the 3DSs me and my siblings had growing up.
My team is Typhlosion with the Charcoal, Fearow with the Sharp Beak, Ampharos with the Magnet, Heracross with the Black Belt, Espeon with the Twisted Spoon, and Lapras with either the Mystic Water or Never Melt Ice.
Tbh, my team of Typhlosion, Ampharos, Espeon, Heracross, Crobat and Lapras (then switched Crobat for Dragonite) was amazing for my playthrough, it was one of my firsts teams I´ve ever built, and heck due to HG/SS being my childhood, these pokemons ended up being some of my favs in the whole series period. Heracross made Whitney a joke (even more mine was a Female if I remember correctly), got Crobat and Espeon before Morty ad those two made Morty and Chuck a cakewalk, the only one that gave me a bit of trouble was Clair in terms of gym leaders
@@matthewroberts198 heck yes! Your team is awesome! What a lot of people forget about Johto is any Grass starter would struggle to be your superstar, but you have to play Meganium as mixed-offense/support with its bulk. Right now, and pretty much ever since Blackthorn, my Meganium has had Light Screen, Aromatherapy, Frenzy Plant and Return. Light Screen is great setup for Elite 4 Will, Aromatherapy plus bulk to clear status ailments from Koga, etc.
My team i used in hgss is Shiny Crobat (originally planned to go with fearow, but i randomly encountered a wild shiny golbat, so here we are) Machamp Slowking Ampharos Typhlosion Victreebel
The game is good, but it had potential to be even better with better design decisions. Hiding the elemental punches and great tms like Tbolt, Ice beam and flamethrower behind volt flip sucks. Also the level curve and move pools of some pokemon is why some are just not worth investing in.
Currently making 3 teams, One for each starter and a legendary Beast for SacredGold/StormSilver -Feraligatr Raikou (Salamence/Gliscor, Machamp, Forretress, Alakazam are some of My candidates here) -Thyphlosion Suicune -Meganium Entei (Swampert Is One of the candidates here) Feel free to leave suggestions here
Typhlosion - best starter in the game, best fire type Pokemon ingame Ampharos - against the flying types, special attacker, early to catch Fearow/Crobat - both are fairly easy to catch, Fearow has the highest attack power as a flying type/Crobat is more of a technical member Heracross - worth it, bruh, trust me Espeon - effort's worth it, best special attacker in game Lapras - early to catch, strong and dependable against dragon and ground types (HM Slave) Sentret/Turret
I use ampharos til i get raikou which is very easy in this game. Just wait til u get to Ecruteak City, go to the burned down temple, activate cutscene, and he should be in ur pokedex map. Get a couple dusk balls from goldenrod friday lottery and I usually run up and down at route 36 and 37 until hes near me and I attack til he has red hp and use quick and fast balls then dusk balls to catch him. takes a bit of time but ull eventually get em.
Im currently replaying through pokemon hg again and im using some picks u dont normally see my team currently is: Feraligatr Nidoqueen Miltank Murkrow (your actually able to get via the safari zone b4 the post game around b4 u fight jasmine) Tangrowth Im just having a issue choosing which the last mon i wanna use is gonna be
Hey dude I’ve got a question!! I have a 23 in 1 Pokémon game, and it’s a cartridge with a micro sd inserted, is it possible to modify the games and the evolution requirements using a computer or specific program? Just checking to see if ya know!!
I just started playing Soul Silver. Everything is new and fun!!! I have a shiny Typhosion, nidoking, Umbreon so far. I don’t know how to spell those 2, sorry
I’m currently playing through heartgold, I just beat the elite 4 for the first time and I’m onto the next 8 gyms. I decided to do it without ur heart gold team as I wanted to try my own team. I used ampharos, hooh, sudowoodo, typhlosion, gyarados and nidoking. However here’s my issue Sudowoodo practically solo’s the entire elite 4 with rock smash, with a little help from ampharos and hooh. The rest of the Pokémon where useless. Who can I swap out for the other 3? I like nidoking and gyarados so I’m not totally agaisnt keeping them, but if there’s better suggestions I’m happy to hear it. This’ll be for post elite 4
Currently on my 3rd play through of the game and I’ve just gotten to Kanto and my team is this: Typhlosion Shiny Gyarados Umbreon Togetik Dragonair And Shuckle Let me know what you think (I mainly use Shuckle to tank damage in tricky spots so I can heal other Pokémon because nothing can take that thing down)
Shuckle that I has super high defense and special defense but it knows a move that swaps it's attack& defense stats making it a one hit KO if it K connects
My team was typhlosion, mismagius, togekiss, nidoking, ampharos, and shiny gyarados. I don’t know why more people don’t use a powerful guaranteed to see shiny from the lake of rage.
I think i had a very basic team Typhlosion Hooh Heracross Shinny garados Dolphan Raikou Honorable mentions who didn’t make it to fight lance and red but did help a lot Amphros Noctowl
I don't know. Onestly I don't like too much to have three Pokémon of the team (half of the team) with a same 2x (or 4x) type weakness. Many of these teams you mentioned, although they have strong pokemon with high stats, have this weak side. My favourite teams are: Feraligatr Miltank Arcanine Espeon Ampharos Vileplume Meganium Gyarados Dragonite Tentacruel Umbreon Heracross
It’s gonna be a hassle trying to get the Mons for a particular course but I mostly grinded the Jump Course using the Legendary Ho’oh/Lugia, togetic and some other Pokémon with good jump
I'd take Espeon > Alakazam. More HP, More Def, only 5 less Sp. Atk, and it'll still out-speed pretty much everything. I always went with either Espeon or Jolteon. Has essentially identical Sp. Atk & Sp. Def to Ampharos, can learn Shadow Ball, and will outspeed even Gengar & Alakazam.
Typhlosion Ampharos Politoed Heracross Togekiss Donphan/Umbreon You can get all of them by the time you have surf, just get the stone and crown from pokèathlon
Current hg team is Feraligatr, Tyranitar, Heracross, Ampharos, Pidgeot, and Arcanine. Kinda wishing i went with a different flyer but due to the severe lack of exp, he’ll have to do.
i just started playing last weak, currently running shiny totodile, togatic, noctowl, eevee(going for espeon), heracross and a slave sentret. any suggestions?
I used Typhlosion, Dragonair (evolved from Game Corner Dratini), Shiny Gyarados, Togetic, and Pidgeot + Sandshrew (also from Game Corner) as the HM slave for most of my current playthrough of Soulsilver (currently at 71.34 hours, 16 badges, 3 Hall of Fame entries). Over the playthrough Pidgeot got replaced with Lugia and Sandslash gets replaced with Machamp for Elite 4 runs. I get pretty leveled by any good electric/ice Pokémon but its still fun.
my most recent team is, feraligatr, scizor, umbreon, magnezone, togekiss, and donphan for heartgold i haven’t beaten lance for the first time in this one

Just recently started a playthrough with: Meganium, Magmar, Ferrow, Mamoswine, Girafarig, Tentacruel. Wish me luck
Finally a team that is actually original!
My latest team in Soul Silver was comprised of
Meganium
Tyranitar
Crobat
Espeon
Ampharos
Lapras
I love using Typhlosion. He's my favorite Pokémon.
You can't forget the Pokewalker encounters. Elekid is available there allowing you an Electabuzz
I’ve done several playthroughs and my fav mons have been: Typhlosion, Feraligatr, Crobat, Heracross, Ampharos, Dragonite, Alakazam, Nidoking, Lapras, Gengar, Scizor, Ursaring, Honchkrow & Skarmory
These are my go to teams (not best I just use my favorites)
Typhlosion Noctowl Ampharos Herracross Gyrados (ground type)
Feraligator, ampharos, herracross, togekiss, Ho-Oh, rhydon
I honestly love Voltorb Flip! Its an addicting game, you just gotta learn the basic tricks
My team
Typhlosion
Ampheros
Heracross
Lapras
Espeon
Togekiss (you can still evolve it before any Kanto gyms via the Pokeathelon)
Stealth rock-power trick-bug bite shuckle is excellent if you arent doing a nuzlocke. Can literally sweep special attacking teams
Also, I’ve always gotta have Crobat in my team. He’s just a personal favorite because if you cats a level 2 Zubat you’ll get to Crobat super early in the game.
Thanks for all you do Mystic Mt. Moon of PokéTubers
I wanted to use Charizard in Jotho so gen'd it in and together with Ampharos, Heracross, Lapras, Tyranitar and Alakazam went on an amazing journey to beat Red
My ss team was
1. Typhlosion
2. Kingdra (wanted to use one for a while)
3. Tyranitar (one of my fave Mons)
4. Crobat (never used one)
5. Exeggutor (he was rlly good for me)
6. Snorlax (also one of my favs)
When it comes to togetic in game is that a combination of choice scarf, stab hyper beam, and devent speed. It becomes a very, very effective sweeper.
Tyranitar is always a must for my teams lol
I still play Heartgold to this day ❤
My current team:
Tyranitar, Charizard, Ampharos, Heracross, Umbreon and Feraligatr.
Red gets obliterated every time I face him 😅
(My team is a slight dig at Gold/Silver Red's team that consists of 5 Gen 1's and 1 Gen 2 😅... Just the other way around! 😁😁)
It's so poetic. ❤
Buddy and I are replaying the old game. Hes playing Crystal and I have Gold. The team I am using:
Typhlosion, Slowking, Crobat, Umbreon, Ampharos, and Dragonite
Love that meganium got no love, such a garbage mon.
Ye if it was me though I'd evolve it to bayleaf however it's spelt and leave it on a everstone
yeah, the shittiest starter ever. and for some reason, I thought bayleaf evolved into tropius for years and when I discovered meganium, I was super mad.
@ᴛʜᴇ ɢʜᴏꜱᴛ ᴡʜᴏ ᴡᴀʟᴋꜱ Tropius isn't that good tbh. Sad cause I really love both Meganium and Tropius design wise, but yeah, Meganium is defo one of the worst starters ever (If not the worst)
Meganium, Ursaring, Wobbuffet, Skarmory, Houndoom, Lanturn.
Did great for me
It was the first starter I ever used and pulled me through all the way to the league in Crystal but I do have to agree.
So fitting! I just started a heart gold game! Good options
Here’s a team I had a lot of success with in game: Meganium, Ampharos, Gyarados, Togetic, Espeon and Arcanine.
Hey Meganium! I used Meganium, Ursaring, Wobbuffet, Skarmory, Houndoom and Lanturn.
Did wonders!
Just about to start my first heartgold run. Played Gold as kid on release. Planning my team Got cynd/geodude/heracross/gyrados so far.
Tyranitar - Dark/Rock
Crobat - Poison/Flying
Infernape - Fire/Fighting
Metagross - Steel/Psychic
Garchomp - Dragon/Ground
Walrein - Ice/Water
My team i used in hgss is
Shiny Crobat (originally planned to go with fearow, but i randomly encountered a wild shiny golbat, so here we are)
Machamp
Slowking
Ampharos
Typhlosion
Victreebel
The game is good, but it had potential to be even better with better design decisions. Hiding the elemental punches and great tms like Tbolt, Ice beam and flamethrower behind volt flip sucks. Also the level curve and move pools of some pokemon is why some are just not worth investing in.
Feraligatr, Crobat, Steelix, Heracross, Exeggutor, Tyranitar is what I’m running right now. Can get all mons by gym 5!
Dang. I was really hoping my team would be featured. Hopefully next time.
Currently making 3 teams, One for each starter and a legendary Beast for SacredGold/StormSilver
-Feraligatr Raikou (Salamence/Gliscor, Machamp, Forretress, Alakazam are some of My candidates here)
-Thyphlosion Suicune
-Meganium Entei (Swampert Is One of the candidates here)
Feel free to leave suggestions here
You can actually get Electabuzz early if you get Elekid from the day care egg.
Typhlosion - best starter in the game, best fire type Pokemon ingame
Ampharos - against the flying types, special attacker, early to catch
Fearow/Crobat - both are fairly easy to catch, Fearow has the highest attack power as a flying type/Crobat is more of a technical member
Heracross - worth it, bruh, trust me
Espeon - effort's worth it, best special attacker in game
Lapras - early to catch, strong and dependable against dragon and ground types
(HM Slave) Sentret/Turret
now this is what I've been waiting for
Typhlosion ampharos heracross lugia tyranitar
And either miltank ursaring donphan skarmory mamoswine or weavile. Insane designs all along
My most recent HG team (like 2013 recent) was: Typhlosion, Slowking, Murkrow, Ambipom, Mamoswine and Raikou
Im currently replaying through pokemon hg again and im using some picks u dont normally see my team currently is:
Feraligatr
Nidoqueen
Miltank
Murkrow (your actually able to get via the safari zone b4 the post game around b4 u fight jasmine)
Tangrowth
Im just having a issue choosing which the last mon i wanna use is gonna be
I have a team for the strongest teams for Hoenn:
Swampert
Breloom
Alakazam
Crobat
Manectric
Ninetales
Hey dude I’ve got a question!! I have a 23 in 1 Pokémon game, and it’s a cartridge with a micro sd inserted, is it possible to modify the games and the evolution requirements using a computer or specific program? Just checking to see if ya know!!
And also don’t forget the fact you can pick up the three eggs in violet city!! Slugma, mareep, and wooper!
However here’s my issue
Sudowoodo practically solo’s the entire elite 4 with rock smash, with a little help from ampharos and hooh. The rest of the Pokémon where useless.
Who can I swap out for the other 3? I like nidoking and gyarados so I’m not totally agaisnt keeping them, but if there’s better suggestions I’m happy to hear it. This’ll be for post elite 4
Pinsir is actually pretty good in HGSS. Underrated at the elite four
I had the ff:
• Feraligatr
• Nidoking
• Pidgeot
• Espeon
• Victreebell
• Ursaring
We gonna talk about the Fearow bst error he does not have 555 💀💀💀
Ampharos, Gengar, Umbreon, Dragonite, Hitmontop and Starmie
Togekiss, Gliscor, Machamp, Lapras, Feraligatr, Typhlosion are also ones I have used a lot
Currently on my 3rd play through of the game and I’ve just gotten to Kanto and my team is this:
Typhlosion
Shiny Gyarados
Umbreon
Togetik
Dragonair
And Shuckle
Let me know what you think
(I mainly use Shuckle to tank damage in tricky spots so I can heal other Pokémon because nothing can take that thing down)
Shuckle that I has super high defense and special defense but it knows a move that swaps it's attack& defense stats making it a one hit KO if it K connects
3:49 or simply ethan's canonical pokemon team
I’m playing HeartGold for the first time. I’ve always wanted to use Totadile, so I need a fire type? Which should I pick?
I know they originate in different regions but to me Quagsire always felt like a poor man's Swampert(edit)
My team was typhlosion, mismagius, togekiss, nidoking, ampharos, and shiny gyarados. I don’t know why more people don’t use a powerful guaranteed to see shiny from the lake of rage.
Can u help me with my pokemon game
I never realized how good fearows stats are. 555 is crazy for a 1st route bird
my second playthrough team was sick: Typhlosion, Kingdra, Venusaur, Scizor, Golem, and i swapped in between kenya the fearow and crobat
I think i had a very basic team
Typhlosion
Hooh
Heracross
Shinny garados
Dolphan
Raikou
Honorable mentions who didn’t make it to fight lance and red but did help a lot
Amphros
Noctowl
Electivire is not "post game" if you get Elekid from the free egg from daycare
Billy is cold as hell
I don't know.
Onestly I don't like too much to have three Pokémon of the team (half of the team) with a same 2x (or 4x) type weakness.
Many of these teams you mentioned, although they have strong pokemon with high stats, have this weak side.
My favourite teams are:
Feraligatr
Miltank
Arcanine
Espeon
Ampharos
Vileplume
Meganium
Gyarados
Dragonite
Tentacruel
Umbreon
Heracross
Shuckle think was used because of one of its moves at swaps its defense stats with its attacks that’s making it broken but who knows
Fregilgator best starter
😂
@@ryansilvestri7533 no joke
Watching multiple of your videos I think imma play a spearow line as flyer. I usually use Pidgeot in gen one and crobat in gen 2
My team for HG which I got most from eggs and trades is, typhlosion, heracross, quagsire, Ampharos, espeon & dragonite
Ok dude, you can evolve Togetic by getting a Shiny Stone from the Pokeathelon. It takes a while, but you can get Togekiss.
It’s gonna be a hassle trying to get the Mons for a particular course but I mostly grinded the Jump Course using the Legendary Ho’oh/Lugia, togetic and some other Pokémon with good jump
Would you or have you ever done a team for storm silver?
I'd take Espeon > Alakazam. More HP, More Def, only 5 less Sp. Atk, and it'll still out-speed pretty much everything.
I always went with either Espeon or Jolteon. Has essentially identical Sp. Atk & Sp. Def to Ampharos, can learn Shadow Ball, and will outspeed even Gengar & Alakazam.
I used Meganium, Mamoswine, Pupitar, Stantler, Crobat and Scizor
Typhlosion, Ampharos, Slowking, Scizor, Tyranitar, Dragonite grind for two pseudo evos but so rewarding
I know you already made it but my team for HG:
Typhlosion
Crobat
Ampharos
Slowbro
Heracross
Golem
Man, I feel like mine should have gotten a mention for having a Mamoswine 😔 You know how it hard it was to find a heart scale in that game?! 🤣
Typhlosion
Ampharos
Politoed
Heracross
Togekiss
Donphan/Umbreon
You can get all of them by the time you have surf, just get the stone and crown from pokèathlon
Current hg team is Feraligatr, Tyranitar, Heracross, Ampharos, Pidgeot, and Arcanine. Kinda wishing i went with a different flyer but due to the severe lack of exp, he’ll have to do.
My team is very similar to yours:
Feraligatr
Ampharos
Fearow
Arcanaine
Espeon
Tyranitar
U can get Elekid with the Pokewalker in the early game tho
My second playthrough was:
Typhlosion
Feraligatr
Meganium
Steelix
Dragonite
Miltank
I use
Meganium
Crobat
Steelix
Heracross
Kingdra
Tyranitar
Swampert (dont ask haha) -Crobat-Arcanine-Heracross-Electrode-Exeggutor (OP)
i just started playing last weak, currently running shiny totodile, togatic, noctowl, eevee(going for espeon), heracross and a slave sentret. any suggestions?
1:43 how do we check the location of particular Pokemon in every route
Hey mysticumbreon
I used Typhlosion, Dragonair (evolved from Game Corner Dratini), Shiny Gyarados, Togetic, and Pidgeot + Sandshrew (also from Game Corner) as the HM slave for most of my current playthrough of Soulsilver (currently at 71.34 hours, 16 badges, 3 Hall of Fame entries). Over the playthrough Pidgeot got replaced with Lugia and Sandslash gets replaced with Machamp for Elite 4 runs. I get pretty leveled by any good electric/ice Pokémon but its still fun.
If I hacked HG/SS and made a sequel, I’d add Wyrdeer and Ursaluna.
my most recent team is, feraligatr, scizor, umbreon, magnezone, togekiss, and donphan for heartgold i haven’t beaten lance for the first time in this one
