Why not just cut straps off a coke bottle or water bottle or some thin plastic like that and slide in between grommet and housing? That way you don't have to worry about the grommet constantly trying to pop put as you're wedging it back in sideways? Would this work? Believe I've seen numerous g/z videos doing it that way. Pretty sure all the nissan models use the same door catch system
Not sure. That may work, but would likely need to be thicker than water bottle plastic to hold up long term and something thicker than that would be difficult to slide in there. Give it a shot and let us know here. I'm sure there's several ways one could fix this, but I knew this worked from having done it before and will hold up for as long or longer than the original door stop grommet did when it was turned the other way. 🤷♂️

Just bought a 2008 FX35, my power lock on the front driver side doesn't work, any idea on how to fix it?
probably needs a new door lock actuator. That happened in my G35.
