The situation got so shitty because of it (with now Laura being the target and added to their discourse) that they were forced to go on camera as a divorced couple and talk about it. Saying that they re "bad for filming a private drama" is so disrespectful and ignorant towards the two.

The right-wing legislators in this country have made it their goal to ban abortion as widely as possible to the point of wanting to prosecute women who have abortions, anyone who helps them go to get one, and any medical professional who assists with the procedure (some of them even want it banned in cases of rape or incest). It’s so bad that many hospitals in states where they have now banned abortion will refuse to provide medical treatment in emergencies where removal of even a nonviable fetus is required to save the life of the mother, because the right-wing nutjobs might consider that too close to an abortion.
