Even with snow My colony hibernates yearly and they really need it While not every queen is caught in Shangdong, it's very uncommon for them to be caught in the regions that doesn't have a colder season Ironically also the reason why from most youtubers, the colonies start having issues, massive die offs, drones at young age, etc

I think they are one of the best ants to keep. I've never had a problem with these ants. I like them very much and can recommend them to anyone.

will they do Okay without a heat cable or is one required for them ?.
They do ok at room temperature (20-22 degrees) but will do better a bit warmer
