- Opening my second collector box of Magic: The Gathering Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle Earth Special Edition. This box was... bad. Compared to my previous box, this was really bad. This is a rap on the LOTR sets for me unless I find an incredible deal.

Dang, you got this down to a science when I saw it was only about 9mins. Started off really strong, but I still need one of those poster Witch-Kings. Overall, the box wasn't terrible but if you didn't get that Argonath, this would have been really rough. I was going to get one more box, but I think I'll pass now. Just too hard of a hill to climb. Thanks for the content, dude!

This is why I don't buy sealed product anymore. That and overproduction plus downsizing. I'm happy to support the secondary market
What do you think about the scroll treatment in the release? Im not really a big fan.
It would be cool if there wasn't so much negative space on the sides. I feel like they could have done a ton better.
this lord of the ring set got me into to magic and im so much more happier now but also broke haha

I completely avoided this set because of how overpriced it is, but randomly decided to buy a single draft booster today of the set because I was out shopping and pulled a orcish bow master from a single draft pack 😐 the absolute gamble of buying packs is wild especially so because of the price of buying the collector packs
Grats on your bowmasters! All the sets, especially the ones where all the value sits in a few cards, feel very swingy. Its either amazing or a total dud.

Weird looking at this with all these legendary locations and foil, but no value.
For example you can draw Saruman the white and its meh. Then you get Legolas quick reflexes, I mean its only ability and its great.
Yep, so much value is tied up in how "good" or "playable" the card is and whether a format needs 4x copies vs 1x copy....
What’s The all time best collector booster box?
For fun? Opening the first LOTR set collector was pretty cool. It was really cool seeing the cards in person for the first time (and I got some decent hits :) ) Baldur's gate was also pretty fun for me too, for much of the same reason. So much nostalgia and cool factor for seeing these things I loved on a magic card for the first time.
The poster cards are fucking lame.
I think they are really cool art pieces and perfect for that pop-LOTR flavor.
