How EXACTLY did DRX Upset T1? | DRX vs T1 League Of Legends Analysis

- I hope you all enjoy my analysis of the 2022 worlds finals. For context I am a challenger player from OCE. I played at worlds myself in 2018 but never made it past play-ins (if only I could be as good as these guys).
I hit rank 2 on OCE server this season (2023) - www.op.gg/summoners/oce/UDYSOF (check the tier graph, I let this account decay because of my fulltime job taking up too much time)
Let me know what you guys think of the video and if you like this style!

So in the final game, the analysis that blows my mind is that Kingen was so good at finding that flank from behind the base that T1 actually thought he TP'd there which made them make the call to tp to backdoor and end the game but when they saw Aatrox's tp, they knew they fucked up.
Yep, Kingen is a finals MVP for many reasons, and this is one of them. Trophy-winning play by him.
T1 fans are saying non sense sht as Aatrox ban would win them the game but Kingen was patient even with the Camille game he was so patient. he was also baiting arrows just to buffer it with camille e.
couple points to note:
Players hear white noises and so they don't hear the crowd, plus the fact that there is a delay between what player sees in game vs what the audience sees on the big screen.
Deft suggested the Bard pick because besides the immobile varus and viktor, DRX botlane knows they can't outpush varus karma, and so the bard pick is basically saying they are not going to try to lane and have Bard roam around instead.
With regard to Beryl's playstyle, he likes to use himself as bait to try to bait out the opposing side's skills. There is a reason he's stepping up forward and miraculously surviving with single digit health. It is a very heavy high risk high reward kind of playstyle.
As seen in 31:28, Beryl had no reason to be within vision range of T1, but because he was there, he got both Viktor's ultimate and flash as Faker wanted to secure the kill.
Another point is at 31:58, the smite fight was not 50/50 because Beryl Bard ulted Oner to force him to step up or use his flash, if Oner flashes away, he wont be within smite range, if he steps up (which he did), he gets killed right away and DRX secures elder while he is in GA animation
Lastly, T1 decided to go with the TP play because the two main carries (Viktor and Varus) both have no ult no flash, and they are playing against Caitlin, Azir, and Bard, it is basically impossible for them to walk up this late into the game as both Azir and Caitlin have the necessary items to damage them from a longer reach.
While another factor to consider is that T1 lost vision of Kingen's Aatrox earilier in the fight, only for Zeus to discover him at 31:44 which may lead them into thinking Aatrox had TP'ed to get behind him.
The thought of Kingen having no teleport plus the elder fight become very difficult with both Viktor and Varus flashes and ult down could have been the reasons as to why T1 chose to backdoor.
for the crowd i think they can hear it through other players mics. At least for valorant thats how it is

He literally lived one 1 hp, it was clearly a mistake and he got lucky af. Had oner ulted properly he woulda inted and made the elder 4v5 for T1 and T1 woulda probably won the game
@@KhoaNguyen-ty9tw clearly you didn't read my sentence stating "It is a very heavy high risk high reward kind of playstyle."
The fact remains he lived while getting Faker's flash and ult, which puts DRX at a massive advantage.
If you want another example, check out 10:24. Yes he walks up far, but look at what abilities and summoner spells he got out of Aatrox and Viktor.
@@jiafu6784 hes just lucky, lets be real. no way anyone can calculate that they will live on 1 hp and also accounting for the enemy missplaying (i.e oner missing his ult on a tunneled target) it's not worth the trade off making the game 4v5 during elder spawn for viktor flash and ult. i believe it was just positioning mistakes, i really doubt people bait like this
@@KhoaNguyen-ty9tw perhaps he didn't calculate for 1 hp, but maybe he did for 100 hp.
There is a reason he's two time world champ
Really good Analysis, but Sivir wasn't that bad as you mentioned in the first draft, she's really good as a supportive Adc with heavy bruiser comps as we could see for example in Fnatic vs T1 games, where T1 was playing Sivir, Sejuani, Sylas and completely overrun Fnatic. Also Deft didn't have much of a choice, most meta ADC's were banned or they would struggle in Varus, Renata matchup.
Also Sivir is a self sufficient ADC. Makes it easier for BeryL to be able roam.
I definitely did see why they picked Sivir, I was just trying to make the point that now their comp is very one dimensional and will probably lose. Sivir is okay, I agree with that for sure
@@coachudysof which adc would you have picked?
@@coachudysofstill waiting for your adc pick
@@datube2686 I think the comp was trash before the adc pck, no adc solves this draft, pick vayne and pray he's Uzi.
Keep it up! This is just awesome!!! Can’t wait for this channel to grow and help players understand more about how the pro game brake down works!
Wow this is actually a great analysis of past year's worlds, I didn't even know I would like this type of video, please make more!
Glad you liked it :D
You talked about crowd influence on the game. I attended not the finals but the DRX quarters against EDG and there was definitely a delay between the players playing the game on their monitor and what was shown on the big screen, I would guess somewhere around 15 seconds. I suppose there are some extremely rare scenarios where crowd cheering could affect the live game the players are playing 15 seconds in the future of the screen.
When you attend a live event youll notice when the game ends when you look at the players they are already out of their chairs beginning to hug even though on big screen they are still piloting their champs to finish off the nexus. Thats shows theres def a delay even live
Great point, thank you!
Wait, wouldn't that kill the vibe tho? On the big screen they're destroying the nexus but the team already got out of their seat?
Is this for real?
@@suisus3780it didn't honestly
@@suisus3780youre too caught up in the action if its a good game to notice trust me lol
definitely i would like to watch more videos like this great work and great effort

Great analysis! What a final
loved this video, super entertaining!!!
I love seeing pro games broken down so many little things you miss while watching live
I love these indepth pro league analysis. i hope you will be making a JDG/T1 @ msi (2023) soon !!!
i watched the whole thing and just at the end i saw your sub count ! very well made video keep it up and you will make it big in no time :3
:3
Hey man, love the videos, especially the ones where you go in-depth on certain champions. I loved your video on Jarvan IV and would love if you did something similar for Lee Sin! Keep the lovely content going man!
I tend to do videos on champions I play a lot - haven't been playing much lee sin as he's pretty average at the moment, but I might reach out to some other onetricks and making videos with their help. I just want to make the best quality vids so for focusing on what I know best to start :D
thank you very much my dude ! Appreciate it
@@coachudysof
this was really well made
could you do these for past worlds finals aswell?
you can really feel the pressure when you see kingen miss 3Q flash at 32:10
This is an amazing analysis, I myself didn't catch how many mistakes were made when I watched the first time!
More analysis like this one please!
I just watched this entire series again today. Such a great finals. Kingen was a legend. Deft and Pyosik got carried all series by Kingen and Zeka.
I rewatch it often, it was too good.
It’s insane how people were praising Deft too on social media, meanwhile if Kingen/Zeka didn’t go 2v8 this woulda been a 3-0 for T1.
@@Biginjapanx maybe you don't see all layers of skill in the game
i cant believe this series was such a fucking a banger
very nice work :)
Cant help but think about the Malmortius value on the last play there. You see his healthbar go up and down cuz of Malmortius and DD + Aatrox passive.
Man you deserve more subs
Great channel. Needs more views/subs
great video thanks
I had so much fun watching Kingen for the whole tournament
Deft going deathless in game 5 albeit Kingen died for it but it was the smart move since they would meet Caitlyn with Azir to counter the future siege.
this video gave me goosebumps
pyosik's no smite challenge went hard fr
holy this such a great and interesting video, please make more...
tho do be careful in making result-based analysis
REALLY GOOD VIDEO
actual very good recap.
great video
9:55 I must back to start of this teamfight to see those ashe's r
Watched the whole thing, feels like you can explain things better rather than just saying what’s happening on the screen.
Thanks for the feedback 👌
Last game seen with t1 fans eyes:
-Luckiest Bart player in lol for surviving so many times with 1 hp
-Unlucky smite with last elder for oner
-Kingen is a goat for seeing that flank, it would have been game i think
-Faker did not do faker stuff
Better luck next time t1😢
I don't think it was possible for Oner to win the 50-50. He has to either Flash out (and lose Elder) or stay and fight, and get bursted down. It was impossible for Viego with no Heartb(R)eaker to have won that fight. I think that Keria on a Carry would have won this game, but getting stuck on Karma duty lost it for them.
2:30 is outdated, with new camp reset ranges it's no more possible to hide both yourself and the buff, but hiding just yourself is still possible
Oh yeah my bumbass recorded this commentary in season 12. Let's just say I kept it in for histories sake 🤣
Still relevant to the video
This game wasn't played on s13 though so it don't matter.
actually the the 2nd ashe arrow in game 2 came from sylas ult in river bot side
Worlds finals version of Zeus is something else
man even rewatching this series you don't believe DRX will win until they actually do
I can't remember any world winning team with a bad jungle like this one. It was always the jungle who made big difference. But this time around Kingen and Zeka really carried the team.
Deft with impeccable positioning, kiting and 0 deaths 🤔
Arguably even Beryl should get credit since T1 overstepped and used flash just to fail in killing his Bard. 😅
@@azralia4265 The deathless feat is actually very overrated. Kingen/Pyosik were throwing their bodies up, ready to sacrifice themselves.
The last teamfight of Game 2 was his real hero moment. He doesn't go ham right there, they lose 3-0
@@nathanhosea489 It still means he had great positioning all game and never got caught.
Thanks to you i don't have doubt anymore that Gumayusi is inting, wtf was that flash + get bodied 16:50
2022 Aatrox gameplay
Hey brooo this is good... Can you make video about draft analysis and how to draft on both ranked games and tournaments?
I will try my best ! - drafting in ranked games is a pretty hard thing to teach since you can't control your other teammates. I'd just say focus on getting good at the champions you like rather than focussing on drafts.
@@coachudysof cuz here’s the thing sir, i have my group of friends and i wanna increase their chances of winning by learning how to draft for them
hoping for your vid sir 🤗
what pisses me of is that pyosik had no right to win this he got hard cariied by mid top, that world skin should have gone to anyone else but him
In game 5 T1 panicked when DRX didn't ban Cait and they thought DRX has some secret strategy so they took the bait and didn't pick Cait. DRX locked her and that was it.
soooo this is basically kingen 1v9 world
as a bard main i can confirm that is peak bard
Beautiful profile pic
Bro,can u do a video about the difference between 2019 skt and 2022 skt

I don't know how I only just found this video, but I wanna say I thought this video was amazing and extremely entertaining as a league fan. No technical feedback from me, I just would love if you could include some audience/caster audio occasionally to help me relive the hype. Otherwise, superb content!
Great idea! Thank you :D
5:53 Keria 😂
You should make more vids 😢
Working on one now :D
I always hated Elder Drake, I see it as an lazy coin flip way to turn games around.
Riot has been making the games faster for some seasons now (because server cost money and the bilions they make are not to keep them running while you plebs play), every play has more impact and strong early/mid game champions can destroy games.
To the point that junglers can leap ahead everyone else and carry the game if they managed 3 or 4 ganks in the first 12 mins of the game.
Great video, youtube took a while to recommend it but I'm a fan now.
like who is sayas
He said pyosic loves making content😂
27:31 bard moment
I just open the video but i only going to say, t1 should ban aatrox
Why did you stop uploading?

This is epic
ayo wtf Udysof has a youtube?
who would have known
@@coachudysof probs rogue and that's it
Pyosik smites when not needed and doesn't smite when needed lol. Got carried.
Problem nowadays what T1 has is they play too much on towards Faker
Yes, he is god like player but many teams already have changed how they go towards T1
So their Bot and Top lane are more likely to fail more often
If you notice in this series, DRX played more towards top and bot lane
T1 will have this problem unless they change how they come up their game plan
They need get off Faker's popularity and focus more and top and bot when meta demands it more so they need junglers who are more active on dmg side other than supportive side what is common T1 strategy for years, T1's bot lane always have been good but their jungle doesnt really play towards top or bot side so this will effect how they perform in the future
This aged like milk. T1 lost so bad against so many teams now faker isn't with them. But i do agree, they can focus on guma instead.
it was really just beryL diff
I’ll make this simple... BAN AATROX!!!!!!
30 .25Why doesn't the faker speed up? He will live.
Viktor need buf on r i just saying 😢
He is not even in military
Yeah he got it delayed
@@coachudysof Actually deft already said he would delay it before worlds, during LCK playoff. It's on DRX youtube channel
Nah they just spawn attrox for the win

I Remember, that day i was in tears... T1 deserved to win, they we're Better, maybe if instead of banning random champs they could ban aatrox in last game they could've won. And if instead of going karma First pick they went with faker's azir.... Well i'm not a proplayer so i Just have random ideas, good video tho
Rough day for T1 fans
DRX was the better team because they won.
@@ConquestM nah, i don't agree, Just wrong draft and some missplays by T1, u're saying drx better team when jng was not able to smite, and now in lcs he sucks, deft and the supp got carried by aatrox metà, only good player Is zeka
@@bbryan__515 But misplaying and drafting are apart of being a better team or not. During this one specific time DRX was the better team. And I'd say it's more impressive they won after getting so many objectives stolen, imagine if so many steals didn't happen it would've been way more one sided. The players might not be doing amazingly now, but for 2022 they won worlds therefore they were the best in 2022.
Drx didnt win this. Stupid riot balancing decisions won.
Based riot blamer
Faker and T1 Adc sucks. Waste of room. T1 adc's plays and positionings make my eyes bleed.
So an adc that plays better then 99% of all professional adc players let alone regular players suck? Peak backseating
@@WatchSchoolDays 99% my ass. If 99% then why did they lose? t1 Adc cant 1v5, 1v4, 1v3 etc. Regular players dont count. Hes in the professionals. Out of all of the pros, hes the lowest of them all. His positionings and plays make my eyes bleed so much. t1 support did all of the work for him. Gtfo
