    Thanks so much for this review. I have a couple questions that I'd love to hear your feedback. What was the name of the lav mics that you bought? Also, do you know if you can have input coming from the XLR as well as the top 2 inputs (technically able to hook up 3 mics)?

    I bought this to use with my Samsung. It's cool, but until the problem is solved of getting stereo into your phone, it's limited (phones only have a mono input)...

    • @geekazine
      @geekazine  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, you'll need a solution that doesn't use TRRS. Direct USB, like with an IK Multimedia Rig I/O or something like that.

    • @Samos12
      @Samos12 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've been searching for a direct to usb stereo unit that could interface with my phone's video recorder, but no luck so far... I feel no reason to even use an external set-up on my phone just for field audio recording, when I can just use a zoom or something. I think this smartmixer is a cool device, but I also think they are intentionally misleading people into thinking they are going to have a stereo image going into their phone when they will not...

    Hello Brother, God bless you, I have a question for this device, can I hook an out from sound-mixer (analog console) out to the XLR inputs of this device.?

    • @geekazine

      I don't see why not. You'll need the mini XLR or 1/8" TRS jack adapter.

      Many thanks for your reply. I will use this device to stream on Facebook, using iPhone, our local church meeting from the Middle East.As we do not have the return policies, I would not be able to buy the device and if not suitable return it.
      And as you have already invested in this device, may I ask you to try it with a (mixer out), let's say a (group Out).
      what I think of is to have one input from the mixer, and the second from one of the supplied small mics (for the live congregation worship). in this case, which volume will control which mic? I understand that I can control the Group volume from the console (mixer).
      i really appreciate your help.

      It doesn't matter where the signal comes from. The Saramonic will send to phone.

  • @medicmanfd
    @medicmanfd 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks for the review. I am confused regarding whether or not this device actually has true left and right stereo channels or if it mixes both down to mono and only supplies a mono signal for recording? Likewise if it does supply a true stereo (left right) channel for stereo recording, does the headphone jack only allow monitoring in mono?

    • @geekazine
      @geekazine  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It mixes both channels in a stereo output.

    • @geekazine
      @geekazine  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      First, make sure you're using the right 3-pole cable for Android (maybe even trying the iOS one). Second, clean out your headphone jack (a toothpick works). Sometimes pocket lint gets into the jack and causes all sorts of problems. If that is not the issue, then I would try some other mics to see if the noise still happens.
