Beautiful place.Much different down in the valley as I've only looked from the top.Its looks like a rainforest absolutely beautiful,I was half expecting a Dinosaur to come out of the ferns. Great stuff i will have to do it.Thanks 👍
Gosh I love the Blue Mountains ! I am going to do this walk when Sydney comes out of lockdown. Thanks so much for giving me an insight into the terrain. Great video, Luke !
Whilst the Grand Canyon in the good old 🇺🇸 may be larger. however ….. The Canyons of the Blue a mountains are 10x older. The rocks under the Blue Mtns are roughly about 470 million years old, Blue Mtns cover approx 11,400sq klm Blue Mtns National Park covers 2690 sq klm Highest elevation is Mt Werong at 1215m I believe the canyons and valleys of the Blue Mtns would be equally awesome if they were denuded with their rock formations and strata. Seeing as they are much older and have had time to grow vegetation, they have a beauty all their own, with many tracks and paths for everybody easy, moderate and active. Great place to visit for 2 or 3 days, too much to see and do all in one day, but if that’s all the time you have, start early and go for it.
It was quite dark at the bottom of the canyon. I brought a f2.8 lens but it still produced a lot of noise. Next time I will bring a bright lens of f1.4
I love the Grand Canyon loop. An American once said that it looks really pretty but it isn’t grand like the one in the US because the Grand Canyon in the USA is humongous lol
The whole blue mountains canyon is smaller but not that small. It's 17.5 km long with a 6km branch, and some 300m deep. However, it's in a humid climate so heavily vegetated and hard to see the entire canyon. The part Luke has photographed is a tiny branch of the grand canyon.
I haven't yet had a chance to do that walk but damn it is stunning. I had it planned before the really heavy rains hit a couple of years back and much of the area got closed and haven't had the chance to get back since. Not keen on that walk back up though lol.
@edyhekul I need to get myself a little more active before I take it on I think but I'm hoping for a 2 week trip later in the year and this will be one of many planned stops.
@edyhekul cheers mate. Yeah I am planning to get more happening. I have taken a personal break but return next Wednesday with some updates and changes then getting back slowly into my normal content.
Don't forget 2 real canyons, not all that far away - Capertee Valley, even wider than the US Grand Canyon, and Newnes Valley just over a ridge or 2 to the south of it.

Get out there, Mick, you'll love it! The trick to getting back up is to keep putting one foot in front of the other 🤪

The most popular walk in the Bluey's , do you really need to give it more exposure, seriously this is "content'?
