Hand Change Behind the Back.Beginner Rock & Roll Lesson . Learn this fun and easy step

This is another simple little rock & roll step to learn that will fit in easily between some of the other moves you've been learning. A great filler move when you're running short on ideas.

When I do rock & roll, the palm up of male dancer signals initiation of hand change behind the back. I hook my fingers. See 1:32 The girl's palm down offers a grip on the back of her hand. This end with man's left palm down. The next step is for the man to raise his left hand, so the girl can turn left beneath it. The end result is back at 1:32. My explanation may be confusing. I'm not a dance teacher.

Thanks for your comment Sportmuaythai. There are so many variations of these moves, it's good to hear what others do. Did you mean right hand though instead of left hand? This move is done with the man's right hand high with the lady turning under. If yours is with the left hand, I'd love to see that version 💃🕺

@@rockinnagambie Yes, where I dance (Thailand), man's left hand with palm down is raised for the girl to go under. The man's hand is now palm facing upward, at completion of girl's turn,
OK @ 13:05 Change of places left to right. In the clip, the man's palm is facing up. But how I was taught, for change of places, the man's palm should face down
Followed by @ 14:09 Change of hands behind back. Here, the man's palm should face up, which is naturally obvious. I use hooked fingers mostly for jive, and grab the girl's back of hand, and not her wrist as in the clip. I also never let the girl's hand go free as in the clip, so we are in constant contact. The rule of thumb which I learned was, if man's palm faces down, it's for the girl to turn through; Change of place. If the man's palm is facing up, it's Change of hands behind back. May be I dance incorrectly, but that's the way I was taught. I apologize for long and confusing explanation.

Ah, I see. This is a different move to the one we have here. Yours is a Jive or triple step move. We also do something similar when doing jive which will be in an upcoming video. This video is concentrating on single step version. 😁

your vids are nice however pay attention not to stand in the corner to record for it doubles the sound reflexions and harms your speech. Thx for your advices however.
