DJI AIR 3 RANGE TEST - How far can it go before losing signal? real world scenario

- Welcome back to Movie Masters! Today, we're embarking on a distance test of the DJI Air 3 to push its limits and see just how far it can go before losing transmission or running out of battery. I've chosen a familiar testing ground, similar to where I've tested the Mini 3 Pro in the past.
To ensure an accurate test, I'll be maintaining a straight-line flight path, a tip for maximizing distance. After updating the home point and setting the drone to a height of around 30 meters, it's time to launch.
In this test, I've opted for sports mode for a quicker journey, although it tends to drain the battery faster. Flying over forests and mangroves at a steady 19 miles per hour, I quickly reach the 1100-meter mark, pushing onward with cautious optimism.
Despite some initial signal loss around 1500 meters, the connection resumes, allowing me to continue the journey. As I approach 3000 meters, the weak signal indicators persist, but the drone soldiers on, reaching a record-breaking 3850 meters.
Switching back to normal mode for the return journey, I observe the battery level at 52% and two bars of signal strength. However, shortly after hitting the 4000-meter milestone, the connection weakens, prompting the drone to initiate its return to home protocol.
With relief, the drone safely returns, having completed the impressive 4000-meter flight with battery to spare. Reflecting on the test, I note the importance of flying in a straight line for maximum range.

Keep those Antennas at about 45 degrees and see what happens Mate ! Remember that your Remote is held in your hand at about 45-degrees and the Drone is in the air at about the same and better yet ! That Angle changes as the Drone goes further away from you thus making it more sense to have them at about 45°, so to compensate for the difference in angles , you use your Antennas on the RC and you wouldn't have to keep moving your RC up and down trying to get the best Signal all the time . Just my way , doesn't have to be yours though !!!! Even If I Am Wrong On The Degrees , Just Remember That It's The Flat Side Of the Antennas That Are Most Effective !☺️Anyways , I am No Expert Myself and I Enjoyed Watching Your Range Test , Take Care 😀
Watch my latest one. I tried that and flew from a top a mount and got twice the distance
@@Sonymoviemasters, Nice !😀
Cool
Hi there mate . I noticed your antenna’s laying out flat . Apparently from all other TH-cam vids I’ve seen recommend having antenna’s up ways . I always fly my mini 4 pro with antenna’s that way helps signals stay connected. Besides all said I enjoyed watching your range test which was not that bad for 4000 meters. On ya buddy great footage 👌👍👍
Your right! I think im going to have to test this again! Im going out to some mountain's tomorrow or the next day where I should have nothing blocking me, I will test it again with the antenna's up and see how far I can get.

@@Sonymoviemasters so basically you need to have the flat side on the antennas facing your drone . And hopefully you reach far more distance 👍 I think I’m already subscribed to your channel. I’ll wait for your next flight test .

@@Sonymoviemasters thanks buddy . I watched the whole video. I’m sorry I had to witness the last part . My heart was literally racing watching the drone trying to make it back . Hopefully you have care refresh
Pon las antenas bien y dale altura…-
Great video ,but not exactley real world senario. not everyone flys in that kind of area , most of us fly in built up areas with higher amounts of wifi interferance.
Ill do another video in the city.
30m height is the problem go at least 120 for longer range
I did another test after and got twice the distance.
That's a piss poor range. I do over 7000m regularly with mine
Check my other video. I did it again and got over 8kms
@@Sonymoviemasters Now we talking.
Had to google for the conversion but enjoyed the video and I thank ya. 😊
I reckon all your drones disappeared
No wonder it's your record...
watch the video after, I did the test again. almost 18km return.
Your a rookie bud...
You too mate, love watching all your content... lol 😆
