Ahh! Blooming! That guitar solo and outro. Always gives me goosebumps. So damn good.
Kanami's persona changes once she plays the guitar. She's actually very timid and adorable, always smiling and looks very innocent during interviews. Also she has a huge crush on Saiki. 😂
Yea this one is my favorite song of BAND-MAID it has everything.

In case anyone in wondering who was keeping up the harmony with Miku when Saiki switched back to main vocal it was Kanami. She often sings on harmonies but isn't usually shown on camera singing.
A big shout out needs to go to Akane in this video. Her drumming was just off the charts in this one, seriously some insane beats.
In your quest for checking out Japanese bands you should check out this up and coming group *BAND-MAIKO* I think they might have a bright future….. 😊
They're on their way up. They've been signed to Revolver Records, the same label as Predia and Bis. : )
To be honest, I don't have hope on them. After a song, and then mini album, they are doing nothing. They have a good potential but they really need to try harder or at least not fooling around.
Hope they are not that affected by the 'flu' and will be back in the future.
Saiki laugh when I walk in with a Band-Maiko Tee at the meet and greet - she don't seems to like them a lot.

Akane, the drummer, also just got sponsored by a company that makes drum heads that she uses. So they are becoming a world recognized band! They deserve it, they are great to us fans and absolutely love them!
MISA the bassist is shy and she drinks on stage. Also MISA and Akane the drummer attended the same music school In Tokyo. And were part of a backing band for a Japanese Idol for a while.

I think they might "play" with the equipment idea in videos now and then. Their video for endless story, for example, is filmed on a volcanic island, where plug sockets would obviously be at a premium. Whenever Miku is is shot, you see her guitar attached to a lead stretching about a quarter of a mile into the distance.

The live version off of the recently released concert DVD. From that performance on February 14th of this year in Japan. Is just as amazing as this here. It's the second song in the concert. And the whole concert, though it was up on TH-cam for a week. The whole show is incredible. These ladies know what they're doing !

To be fair, they don't have an official live version of this song. I hope they release on from the 2/14/20 show, which is where their new Blu Ray was shot.
I would think that the lights on the amps would throw off the effect of the lights.
As far as your crush on Kanami, take a number, mate! The line for Misa is even longer. But don't discount Miku! She also has a great voice, and her guitar skills are improving by leaps and bounds!

I think it's safe to say that if there is something present or missing from a BAND-MAID music video--even a small detail like equipment lights--it is very likely intentional. Quite a lot of meticulous thought goes into all of their aesthetic and production.
Band-Maid is my favorite group on the planet right now, i enjoyed all your reactions this week and look forward to many more from their catalog of awesome music. Lovebites are pretty awesome too and unique in that all the lyrics are in english(except one song) I'm pretty sure your gonna love the 2 guitarists in particular. Japan is where the rock scene is these days and the ladies are leading the way. just incredible how much talent in Japan

@@panorama4526 Well, if you start to categorize like this, then you step on a slippery slope 😉 They love to experiment, and they hate to be self-repetitive.
I would say, for example, that the album version of PAGE is rather strange-sounding for me-although we know from the interviews, that it's one of the band's favourite songs, and they were very excited about it. They called it "fresh," etc. The live version at Libe Cube Shibuya sounds actually pretty much like a variation of Endless story, the same sort of anthem-type arena song. OK, we know it was written not exactly for arenas, but for weddings, but it's a similar setting 🥳 I should listen now to both versions in turns, and figure out what they did there...
What about At the drop of a hat, then? It's unlike anything they've done before, but I am just in love with this song. It's very much "non-BAND-MAID," but it's so beautiful and nice, I'm so glad they've created it! Saiki's voice is just magical there.
Of course, we know that The Dragon Cries should properly be called a collab, it's rather "BAND-MAID ft. Tony Visconti." They were eager to learn from him, especially that Saiki is an avid fan of David Bowie. I think she was excited to absorb as much as she could from the guy who produced Blackstar. I just listened to Blackstar again yesterday, and I should say, this was a good influence on BAND-MAID. But at the same time, it's still very BAND-MAID-like song, Kanami was the ultimate composer of it, in end. The same structure, at least.

Kanami was asked, how she liked the production Visconti did, and she expressed her happiness to be able to absorb new influences.
I‘m not Japanese, but it‘s possible that this means „No, thank you“ in my language. It‘s also possible that I‘m completely wrong.
It‘s so hard sometimes to conclude what is what in Japanese culture, and Kanami seems to be a complicated person, and absolutely not in a bad way...
Sometimes she strikes me to be as smooth as silk, but the next moment Japanese layered steel is shimmering through.
Band Maid are free to do and play whatever they want. They learn as they go along, and they are very good at it.
I grew up when „Deep Purple in Rock“ and „Abraxras“ were released, later I discovered jazz and Bach, and stopped listening to rock music without even noticing it. Today I think it was because rock began to be kind of boring, not the music maybe, but definitely the demeanor of many rock groups. Jazz and classical music were so much more interesting back then.
Five young ladies from Japan changed that. Sometimes I don‘t know if they realize how unique and brillant they are...
@@panorama4526 Yeah... It strikes me each time I listen to BAND-MAID, how incredible great they are. When I take my headphones off, and return to the "real world," I am kind of expelled from the Garden of Eden, and the mundane side of life dominates, where even a hint at such greatness seems impossible, ridiculous, scornful. But then another quiet moment occurs, when I can put my headphones back again, I turn BAND-MAID on again, and I'm immediately struck with the feeling of unbelief. "What?! How is such a greatness even possible?" BAND-MAID is what makes me Carry On Living...

If you go back through Kanami's Instagram posts she had a video a while back showing a play through of this song's solo at half speed.
I think the equipment lights were probably a design decision. The music video is all about lighting, and they likely decided that the lights would interfere with the colour of the lighting, going from cool blue to that intense red, having red and green of equipment lights would make that less interesting, and might draw focus of their audience from what they want the focus to be on.
Not saying that's the right decision, and that it's better than your opinion, just trying to think of why it might have been a conscious decision and not an oversight.
Some movie directors go as far off as putting some flashing LED lights on top and around the cool-looking equipment 😂 I remember when I was at a training for mass spectrometers at the production facility in Walnut Creek, CA, the host has mentioned that this instrument was used in a movie, and the director has put inside the Christmas-tree set. Of course, any scientist who has seen such an instrument in a lab and worked on it, would laugh her ass off upon seeing it.

Blooming is composed chaos, so much noise and it all sounds so good.
Please can you you check out Nemophila and their song Oiran, awesome Japanese metal from some top talents who decided to form a group.
Also there is Messgram, a Korean post hardcore group with their song Karma. Two reasons for them: 1 they are awesome, 2 they show Korea has more than Kpop and ballad singers.
We definitely all pick out our own things to focus on, that's for sure! Not a music guy, so I didn't even see an amp, let alone whether it was plugged in or not heehee. But movies, videos, comics etc., with motorcycles in them? Auuuugh! Harleys often turn into dirtbikes in mid jump, sportbikes with street tires suddenly have knobby tires in the dirt, comics can have brake lines going to spark plug connections... lol lol lol

Regarding their personalities, Miku on rhythm guitar is usually the one they let talk in any interviews. Everyone else seems to be shy and don't talk as much as her. Miku will just keep talking, cute little pigeon that she is.
Love Bites cannot copare to BAND-MAID, but then, no one can.
Band Maid is my favorite hard rock band. Po! Lovebites is one of my favorite J-metal bands . No need to compare them, they are both awesome. Just enjoy the music.I just feel sorry for the band that would have to follow either one on stage.It would be nice to see them both at Inkcarceration next year. I was so close to seeing Band Maid this year, but of course, the beer bug cancelled it.

It's a relatively new song with speed and power, and there are no extra commercials in the middle of the MV.
"Shadowmaker", which would have been recommended at the same time, suddenly breaks the sound in the middle of the song and the commercial enters, so everyone is puzzled and surprised.
When you watch "When Destinies Align", please turn off subtitles and watch it.
Turning the amp lights on is a good tip, not a complaint. Don't be too disappointed when you discover that those other Japanese band suggestions are waaayyy behind BAND-MAID when it comes to quality of sound and performance. I know I was.

check out 'alone' - as far as I'm aware, that was the first real track they had complete control over themselves. kanami _unleashed_ and of course akane murders the drums like a monster.

You should check the interviews or some japanese shows they've been if you think the bassist is shy. Quiet and reserved aren't enough to how withdrawn that girl is, lol. The singer surprisingly is also very quiet during interviews, is like they space out and is super awkward to watch them. Then the girl on rythm guitar is quite the opposite, so it gets very strange quickly but luckily for them they are very talented and skilled as band.
Many reactors actually react to some of the more interesting interviews by BAND-MAID. For Timoty, I would recommend watching (maybe reacting briefly, or doing a quick review) of that long interview with MISA, where they drink beer, eat some nice snacks, and discuss MISA's childhood and what music she loves. It's very entertaining and unique half an hour: th-cam.com/video/nuP2K9-jlts/w-d-xo.html You can hear that MISA is not really silent, she can speak well-and her voice is actually very pleasant to hear. She definitely lives in the world of her own, but she's a nice and friendly human being... Especially if you give her some beer and snacks 😁

@@VladimirChupin I first just sat and listened to that interview when there was no translation available. Then I listened to it again after the translation was provided in the comments. Then once more when the translation was embedded in the video. And once more after that. Then I read this comment and couldn't resist clicking the link and listening to it again. Yup. Blooming is one of my top 3 MV from Band-Maid. Don't You Tell Me and Bubble are my other 2 favorite MV from the ladies followed closely by Real Existence and Non-Fiction Days.
As for what to look at next you need to check out Maximum the Hormone. This band is absolutely nuts in an awesome way. Think Japanese version of System Of A Down. Band-Maid is my favorite band at the moment. But, the best metal guitar player in Japan is not Kanami. The best is a young lady named Saki who plays in a band called Mary's Blood. Type in BAND MAID shake that-fan and you will get a version of SHAKE THAT recorded about a year ago at a live concert. There was never a clip for this song its an early one but it's still in great demand and quite often makes it onto the play list. The girls are having fun and putting everything into it and the quality is good enough for your show. I mean obviously you get on your show so the quality threshold isn't that high. I'm sorry the amps weren't turned on but there's a sort of movement happening where people show just a little consideration and try not to needlessly poison the planet. You environmental bully boy / thug / eco terrorist. For your next video I want to see you generating your own electricity on an exercise bike so that you can show contrition for your lack of environmental accountability and micro aggression.

why would you pick on the amplifier...you've seen them live, haven't you...it's a video, nothing more!)) I can give you a ton of examples of bands that sound great in-studio and haven't got even a single great live performance, a ton of posers, and radio-friendly bands that violate the true hard rock with genitalia big enough for an elephant to feel!!! this band is worth seeing only live and this isn't their best song, actually, none of their songs are skippable and giving the fact you haven't seen Turn me On, Take me Higher, Don't you tell Me...even Puzzle, all live, I am sure I am missing some, but this isn't their best song musicianship wise...! Wait and see, I hope you read this and rectify your statement in the next reactions))) way to go and don't be jealous of Kanami, Misa and Akane - we are all walking in your shoes))) furthermore, everything you like about them, all the admirations and praises go to Micu, the little bird on the rhythm guitar, the founder and the main producer, songwriter, she takes care of everything about the band...
