@@Eamonod No, not really. A rip off is something that lifts its entire concept and core aspects from another creation, and if you remove that it pretty much doesn't exist. Like The Shadow and batman. Conan has indeed certain similarities with Tarzan but Conan is mostly its own thing in a genre if it's own.
Dark haired muscular warrior wonders through strange lands and civilizations. Could be either character in my opinion. He-Man has earned his cred as it's own thing also in my opinion. @@heroesytumbas

If you stretch it a bit more you could include Mowgli there too, which was an influence for Tarzan, but again, they differ a lot and are on different categories. Tarzan isn't a warrior per se, and none of the civilizations Conan visited were lost or discovered by him. Also, there's no drama in Conan. Both characters are pretty different from each other and most importantly, their stories read and feel entirely different. MOTU literally originated from stealing the idea to make Conan toys but without licensing, and its important mostly for action figures and nostalgia consumers. But let's agree to disagree. I've no horse on the race, I'm a fan of both Tarzan and Conan, and much more of a Thundercats guy than MOTU.
