    Thank you so much, Erica! This answered so many questions for me. I have a couple of clients who are interested in setting up gated content / courses and have been using 3rd party platforms, but I've wanted to pull them over to Member Spaces to keep things on the site. The biggest thing Squarespace is still missing is a forum - this is a request from everyone who asks! Thank you thank you

    • @BigCatCreative
      @BigCatCreative  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes so handy to have everything all together! But yes, that is something there missing! Not sure if it’s in the pipeline. Make sure you reach out to squarespace and request, this is the best way to get things in the works!

    incredible video - 2 questions:
    1. Anyway to have video progress shown for members? Ex: they're going through a course, they'd see a checkmark or "completed" so they know where they're at when they return.
    2. Anyway to have quizzes or questions accompany the videos?

    • @BigCatCreative
      @BigCatCreative  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I don't believe either of those are available natively yet. Really, member areas is just a way to gate part of your website behind a password, but, they don't really have any extra "course" features like this.
      If you want to embed a quiz, you could use something like Interact, but it's not something that is natively available in Squarespace!

    you are amazing this has been the best video about this topic i've seen so far. i have one question when i am setting up the course can i copy and past like from a word document to squuarespace

    • @BigCatCreative
      @BigCatCreative  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! Yes for sure. On any squarespace page you can add a “text block” then you can paste content from anywhere into the block. You might have to tweak the formatting a bit but it should be ok.

  • @geneva_ellis
    @geneva_ellis ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Erica, thank you for this - so helpful! What video recording system do you use? I've been using Zoom or Simple practice to record, download and then upload video content and it sounds like Descript might be a great alternative for this. What are your thoughts?

    • @BigCatCreative
      @BigCatCreative  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! For courses I generally use QuickTime to screenrecord (mac) and Descript to edit and host. I used to edit in iMovie but editing course content in Descript has been a game changer.

    Hey Cat, do you know if I'm able to drip feed content and have this set up for future members? E.g. I have a course that's launching in a few weeks. Aiming to have people live & a facebook group. Wondering for people that join in the future if they could have Module 1 - Week 1 and then automatically release Module 2 and 3 the weeks after? This was super super helpful.

    • @BigCatCreative
      @BigCatCreative  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Josie! I don't think it's possible to drip feed content based on when people join. Definitely message Squarespace and request this, I think a lot of others already have :) But don't think it's in the pipeline. If you had a set start date you could 'enable' the content yourself as the weeks go, but it's not ideal if you want it to release as people join.

    Hello, great video as always :) I love your content I always learn a ton. I have a question in regard to fonts I hope someone can point me in the right direction. So I have chosen a font for my website (Squarespace ) headings, my paragraphs, buttons and Miscellaneous. I would like to have the same font for the subheading as well as a button. how do I go about this?

    • @BigCatCreative
      @BigCatCreative  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes sorry, that did not make too much sense :D So what I want to do is to have two different fonts in the heading section alone. so one for let's say H1 and a different font for subheading. I hope this makes sense. Thank you for your help

    • @BigCatCreative
      @BigCatCreative  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@klaudiawos94 Yes so you can do this with CSS! Here's our tutorial www.bigcatcreative.com/blog/upload-fonts-squarespace
      If you don't want to actually upload a font file, but just change one of your headings to a font that already exists in the Squarespace library, you can skip the Upload font file step and just added the code eg
      h3 {font-family: 'font-name'}
      You just have to know the name of the font code. Usually it's just the name of the font eg 'Arial'
