  • @American_Made
    @American_Made 10 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    is this usually the part that needs to be replaced when the fan motor speeds aren't all working? mine isn't working on high and I have already replaced the switch under the knob.

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If the fan works, but certain speeds don't work, that usually indicates a problem with the resistor.

    question. i replaced resistor allready because it was not working at all. Now it works on highest speed only. could it be a defective resisitor or bad blower motor?

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +J.R J.R Thank you for checking us out. It could be wiring to the resistor, or the HVAC control assembly on the dash causing this issue. 1aauto.com

    Alright I'm stumped, I have replaced my head unit for AC controls, my blower motor and my blower motor resistor. And it still will not work on the high setting. Checked all my fuses and still nothing seemed to fix it. Please help.

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +crazyhaloman1a It could be the blower relay actually. Look for that under the hood. If that's not it, some people have trouble with the actual plug behind the switch in the dash. I guess it loosens up over time and doesn't make good contact. Try holding that in place while turning it to high and see what happens. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com?TH-cam&CTA%20Comment&ATony 866-403-3393

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Amber Foster Thanks for watching! The resistor is the only part responsible for controlling the fan speed other than the actual controls. You may need to look into the control unit if changing out the resistor did not work. 1aauto.com

    Replaced the AC clutch and the resistor but the only the highest setting doesn't work, everything else does. Did I do something wrong and how do I correct this?

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      +icemany617 Since there could be multiple reasons why you’re experiencing this difficulty with your vehicle, I strongly recommend that you have a reputable mechanic inspect it. They’ll be able to troubleshoot the problem and tell you what part or parts you’ll need for the repair.

  • @edwardkeene7045

    Easier if you have little hands and xray vision! The wire connections do not come apart easily on a 25 year old truck. There is also a restraining cable on the glove box that's a little tricky to remove. I defy anyone to do this without swearing.

    How do I know if the resistor is bad and not the blower motor itself?

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching. If a resistor goes the blower motor will only work on High. If the motor fails it will not work at all. Hope this helps

      Gary Brown You may want to check the blower motor resistor to see if it is damaged and needs to be repaired. Sometimes the plug into it may heat up and become damaged. We carry blower motors and also blower motor resistors for your 1995 Chevy S10 on our website, here's a link to them if you would like to see what we have to offer. www.1aauto.com/1995-chevy-s10-pickup-parts/y-mo/1995-38?TH-cam&CTA%20Comment&ATony
