Thanks so much for the question! The army design I did was a war machine gun line with a counter punch (cavalry). With this style of list the bsb isn’t as important as raw damage so I took a second lvl 4 wizard instead. Thanks again!
Such a great video! And congrats on the win :D been loving your content, I'm especially enjoying the insight you give into the role of each unit in your army and how you'd like them to perform! Would love to see some more pics of the games if possible, maybe one pic per player turn? Though maybe that would be more practical in a video focusing on a single battle? Looking forward to following your channel, will be sharing with my mates too :)
Thanks so much! Thank you for the feed back, I’ll try to take more pictures in the future. I’m just so use to only playing the game it’s hard to remember to take pictures, lol.
I will get everything painted, just takes time. What color scheme do you think it should be? I was thinking nuln or a custom boarder prince mixed detachment look?
only just got into Old World and collecting Empire. Love to see them doing well. I have loved using the Demigryph so far they love to wreck face. Had fun with the Hellblaster giving a high elf player a hard time with it after killing a chariot, an eagle and a unit of Dragon Princes with it
Other than the runefang and crossbowmen (I use more Knights...), that is nearly identical to my take on the empire of man! 3 cannons really gives you the tool to dictate the battlefield, but maybe I should test out some state missile troops as well. I was wondering if you had found a use for greatsword's as you mentioned having 60something in your previous video. And again, well played and congratulations with the win! 💪 I appreciate you telling how the games went from start to end, giving reasons why you make the choices you make. Most people don't realize how costly your own banners can be if you're not carefully with them, especially on msu. I hope your channel grows, as you have become one of my favorite wtow content creators.
Nice! Yeah, knights are solid for a core choice. Initially I was going to run 3 units of 5 but i felt the units were too small and wouldn’t have enough punch so I went to 2 of 7. I felt the cross bows were useful and contributed in all 3 games. I will get the great swords going and see if I can get them to work as they are my favorite looking empire unit. Thank you so much! I will keep grinding and push for success!
Great list (and happy to hear you had fun)! How would you deal with flying units and mounted scouts that could get (or even start) behind your lines pretty quickly?
Thanks! Great question. All the cavalry has counter charge and the wizards have 2 fire balls. Behind, you never allow (deploy close enough to the edge they can’t deploy). In the last game vs TK I had to deal with 2x 8 man units of scouting horse archers. Fire ball and a last second charge did them in. I still lost a cannon to them but not everything is perfect. Thanks again!
I was going back and forth with the grand master and the general of the empire. I needed to save some points so went with the general but I totally agree that the grand master is great and a step up. Thanks!
I gave up on cannons but maybe it is mistake. Although with Ward saves you probably wouldn't be able to kill this dragon. I am not sure about spending this much on runfang with only 3A. You can thnik about this that you sepnd 33 points on every attack. So you pay 17 points for Grandmaster and his suborn, master of battle and counter charge wich is good deal IMO. Did you like running with 2 mages? I used to take 2 of them but had fealing thta thr weren't contributing that much. Congratulation on your win and greate battle report.
Thanks for the comment! Ward saves can be hard to get through sometimes, for sure. I approach it with volume of fire, that’s why there’s 3 cannons. I get one more attack on the general of the empire with the dark wizard (battle lust) also adds rerolls to hit (hatred). That’s how I justify the rune fang. It also is in the list to do that last wound the cannons never seem to be able to do, lol. I’m all about 2 wizards, they always make up their points, ether with damage (fire balls) or force multipliers/dividers (battle lust/word of pain). I’ve found empire needs the later as they have human stats (str and t 3). Thanks again!
@@causebadguys9524 I recently played similar list and casted Blood lust on unit of knight. How do you play with frenzy and hate on mounts? I asked a few people and it seems like most people play that this spell doesn't add frenzy to mounts but they add hate for them?
Great question! Battle lust casts frenzy and hatred on the target unit, if it’s a unit of cavalry, both the riders and mounts are affected by hated but only the riders are affected by frenzy. I’m glad other players have also told you the correct answer as well. Dark magic is great! Good luck on your games and remember cause bad guys!
Was there a reason you kept the crossbows in a block rather than a line so often? Only firing with the front 5 seems like a lot of the unit are doing nothing most of the time?
Great question, both times my plan was to target the large targets in my opponents army (abomination and dragon) the other reason was to help with combat resolution if they got hit by a charger. They never hit combat but was able to fire at full effect against the large targets.
As far as I am aware, it would still only be the front rank that can shoot at large targets, all ranks being able to shoot at them is a previous edition thing, in Old World the rule is only the front rank can shoot (nothing about LoS) the only 2 exceptions to that rule are the Volley Fire special rule and being on a Hill, its why I've struggled using them effectively, because otherwise a Priest of Ulric in a unit of crossbowmen would be great giving them all 2 damage crossbows to shoot at big monsters.@@causebadguys9524
Sorry for missing this response for so long, ever model in a unit can shoot at a large target as ever model can draw line of sight, as long as the large target is in each models firing arch and it’s not obscured by intervening terrain (ie hill, forest, building). Large target special rule pg 172. 2 damage crossbows would be great at taking down large targets! Nice find!
It is more about internal balance. If you want to play in tournament more then half of empire army is unplayable or much to expensive. Witch Hunters, empire captains (with 2A),pistoliers, mortars, hellstorm, basic infantry is unplayable. Warrior priest (with there Ld7), empire general (with A3), outriders (no reserve move), flagellants are way to expensive. ST is very tanky but dose almost no damage. Warrior priest on war altar is strange and hard to use properly. Inner circle knight are good but Demis are better. So your are stuck with cheep mages, cannons, hellblaster, engineer, cavalry, Demis and maybe some monster. All competitive armies will be very similar.
I totally get you. Currently I’m putting together an army that has a lector on alter and great swords. I really want to make them viable, we’ll see if I can, lol. Thanks again for the comments!
Curious why you did not run a BSB, as empire I always regarded that as super important.
Thanks so much for the question! The army design I did was a war machine gun line with a counter punch (cavalry). With this style of list the bsb isn’t as important as raw damage so I took a second lvl 4 wizard instead. Thanks again!
Love you this style of report. Too many channels post "reports" that are just two hour videos of the battle and not summaries at all.
Thank you so much!
Great tournament overview, the pictures combined with your narrative made it easy to know how the battles went.
Thanks so much!

Keen to see the army painted, Empire looks really impressive all painted up.
I will get everything painted, just takes time. What color scheme do you think it should be? I was thinking nuln or a custom boarder prince mixed detachment look?
Hocland is the best looking in my himble opinion
Right, I’m stuck right now on how to paint them!

Nice! Empire is fun! The demigryphs are great, and the hellblaster does hellblaster things, lol!
I love your battle reports man!
I have seen you always try to put two big mages but here we play 1999 to avoid it in most armies.
Thanks!
2 mages is powerful, their force multiplier can be nuts. So I get the limitation.

Thank you! I appreciate it!
Glory to the Empire!
Cav n guns - it's pretty good list. But I also prefer 1 inf block
The empire roster is very deep and has a ton of ways to play it for sure!
@@causebadguys9524 tottaly agree. Faith, Steel n gunpowder!

I run a similar list but with a grand master with ogre blade.
I think the immune to psicology is a must in an empire list.

I love your br and hate you for winning a tournament with the empire. A dream for me :D
Thanks! I’ll keep the BR coming! lol, empire is an up hill battle for sure but totally doable! Keep the dream alive, faith, steel and gun powder!

what models are you using for your knights?
They are the age of sigmar freeguild cavaliers. I put lances and halberds from the demigryph kit to give them different weapons.
Skirmishing skeleton archers charged by your knights in game 3 ranked up incorrectly. Should of been more archers in second rank
Thanks for the comment and pointing it out
Are those original canons or 3d printed?
They are the cannons from age of sigmar cities of sigmar, so still a GW model, I just didn’t model on the shield and crane.

That first game 🤦
Totally, I wish there had been more action in it but I couldn’t through my cavalry away, black orcs are no joke!
@@causebadguys9524lowest scores evers haha, blows my mind he scored zero points 😳
lol, yeah low scores for sure. The game did make me realize the value in capturing banners and how much it can affect a game’s outcome.
Nice. I don't buy this empire low win rate nonsense this early in an edition.
Same, I think more data needs to be collected and players are ironing out rules/learning to pilot the army.
