Although I am a subscriber, I found this video because I was searching for anyone who might have walked this walk. It is identical to a walk I took with a friend in high school. We were working on an art project.

Here's a way you can get to Philly cheaply by train when you plan to return in the future:
    1. Take the subway to Penn Station
    2. Take the NJ Transit NE Corridor line from NY Penn all the way to Trenton
    3. Take the SEPTA Regional Rail Trenton line from Trenton to either N. Philly, 30th St., Suburban, or Jefferson stations (all have bus or subway connections)
Tip: Get a SEPTA Key card because paper tickets have been freshly phased out.

Yes youse have to run up the museum steps. Lol. Cmon its Rocko. Ive been here twice. I always wondered why Stallone didnt go the full length. Theres more steps to the museum entrance. *yes, i have actually entered the museum once. Lol.
Thanks for doing this. I amor Philly. Beautiful city! Especially the historical points and Center City. Yes not as huge as NYC but very prideful. I consider Phila as 1st City. Brotherly Love. People should visit at least once in their lifetime if able.

I wouldn’t say it’s a big city, it’s a much smaller city than New York and doesn’t even compare.

@@ActionKid In terms of averages, Philly is comparable in land and population to one the the NYC boroughs. It is a city of many unique neighborhoods, though, where each neighborhood is a small cluster like a typical small town. Historically, D.C. was the political city, NYC the financial city, and Philly was America's major industrial city. With tech jobs replacing the old factory jobs, Philly is becoming more like the center of a large, dynamic metropolitan area than its old role were Center City was to concentrate the high-brow cultural needs of the top ten percent. After the malls moved all the retail stores from downtown, the vast population, with average taste, stopped going downtown. Now, with the upsurge of well-paying tech jobs and startup businesses, Center City's culture is replacing the deceased industrial ten-percenters with the much larger fifty-percenters, the young professionals. [The old industrial leaders left behind some great architecture, that you won't find just anywhere. The Art Museum as their crown.]

It was obviously shot on a Sunday; note the dress on the tourists. I used to live in Philly; crowds then (1960s) were similar to Manhattan.

ActionKid Nothing compares to NYC. Nothing in North America anyway.

@@ActionKid Philly is approximately half the size of NYC @ 160 square miles to NYC land size of 309 sqmi. That's still pretty big. The population of Philly is about as big as The Bronx at 1.6 million, and smaller than Brooklyn at 2 million. Much of Philly was divested in the 1800s. Our five counties were all apart of the city limits at one time and would have made Philly one of the largest cities per square mile. Also, many of the residence in the early 1900's had the city at 2.5 million people. We lost much of the population due to manufacturing jobs leaving the city in the 1950s and 60's. People followed their jobs to the suburbs, Delaware and NJ.
As mentioned below, tech companies and the academics are bringing jobs and modernization back to the CBD. However, Philly will never compare to NYC, but comparable to Boston or DC as a east coast city.
