Where's your email? I just checked Amazon UK, and you can get the donut flavored coffee. I was about to order, but don't have your PO Box, and can't find your addy in the description.
Hey Adam, when you do conversions to pounds you have to break it up break it down to a simple people here in United States. OK I personally don’t know what the dollar value to a pound is nor do I really give a shit so please break it down for us please signed Gen X
I found it interesting that he’d never heard of Jersey. I grew up in New Jersey USA which is named after Jersey in the Channel Islands. I assumed the original Jersey was more well known than it apparently is… or maybe Adam is just really clueless with local geography haha.
Costco sells a few things at a loss to get you in the store. Their rotisserie chicken is delicious, twice as big as what you find in a regular grocery store, and $4.99 (sometimes up the $9.99 in a regular grocery store.). The fast food gets you in, sated, and the good feeling of getting a good deal. Then you take that happy mood and go spend more $$$ in the store. Deviously brilliant.
Costco member here. I think standard membership is $60/year, I pay $120 for executive. Petro/gasoline is super cheap compared to gas stations. On day of release regular 87 octane is $3.09/gallon, premium 93 octane is $3.65/gallon. Average in my area for regular is $3.39/gallon. Costco in general sells fairly cheap, not more than a 5-10% markup from wholesale prices. There market research shows that if you carry 1 or 2 items of a style of product you are more inclined to buy, where if you go to a regular store for a say "soda/coke/pop" if you have figuratively speaking hundreds of choices, you will generally leave buying nothing. So they select 1-2 higher quality items for sale. Food court awesome. 14 inch pizza for $10. A slice ofpizza is$2, a hotdogs withdrink is $1.50. Its cheese or pepperoni but it is good for a low cost. I have found really good wine there, and got at the time of it just being released an MSI GE76 Raider for about 30-40% less than regular retail (and it has all the bells and whistles). Important thing is occasionally you will see something priced at .97 (only identifier its clearance). Apart from gass i go maybe twice a month.
Don't forget the rotisserie chicken for $5-6. They intentionally sell it for cheap to get people inside, then you end up leaving with a dozen things you didn't know you needed until you see them... like the barrel of cheesy poofs. 😅
You are forgetting that if your spouse tries to shop without you present, CostCo treats them like a theif for not having their own membership and cancels your membership.
@@Leviticus_Prime I never encountered that at all. You can add one person to your membership (like your spouse) and they get a card as well, as long as something shows that they live at your same address (like a driver's license). My wife (now ex-) was on my membership.
Costco does everything. Including Caskets. Tires. Booze. Pharmacy. Eye/Ear exams. Roast whole chicken 4.99. There are good buys and products are all good quality. things come and go so you can't count on finding things a second time. Food is bulk so you have to either have a large family, share, or break things down and freeze. Getting out of costco for less than several hundred dollars is a feat.
CostCo membership is $65/year for a private person, $130 for a business. The hotdog deal is legendary, especially when you can load up with all the condiments, pickles and diced onions you want and get free self-serve drink refills. Pizza is also very good-- in addition to the slices they have fresh-baked pizzas to go for very low prices (my fave is the Supreme with about 6 toppings). As mentioned elsewhere, well-fed and happy shoppers tend to stay longer and spend more in the long run. Many of the package sizes are for large families, events, office parties, etc. and the savings are tremendous. Many people go on group buys with friends and load up using one membership.
We do a Costco run once a month. We get all our cleaning supplies, paper goods, personal care and pet care items... Plus a few few bulk frozen foods and pre-made meals. They also have tremendous prices on electronics, clothing, tools and household items. You can buy a box of enough smart LED bulbs to convert over your entire house and still have a couple of spares for the same price as a four pack at a normal store. They also have an optometrist and eyeglasses, hearing aids, tires and discounts on travel (hotels and airfare etc) And member discounts on new cars.
So glad you reacted to the Beesleys. Their channel has 3 strikes thanks to a channel called Flucus. Hopefully that strike gets removed and their channel doesn't get deleted. Thankfully they made a backup channel.
I worked at a Costco in Scottsdale Arizona for a Christmas season one year. I was very impressed with their business acumen. They treat their employees well, and generally pay a little higher than other stores, but you WORK when you're there. Everything runs like a military operation and they don't sell anything that doesn't fly off the shelf. There's no sitting around and lazing about. I know lots of people who have worked at Costco their whole adult working lives. They are famous for sending their employees to school to learn how to run a specialty area (hearing aids, optometry, pharmacy, food court, auto tires, car sales, the list goes on and on). They'll hire doctors or pharmacists for the jobs that require them, but they'll train employees to manage the area. When I was in Scottsdale, it was the store that sold the most Christmas poinsettia plants in the entire country. My job was to run back and forth with a hand-operated hydraulic jack with 2-tiered pallets filled with huge poinsettias in their pots pulling them out of the warehouse and depositing them in the store, then bringing back an empty pallet and grabbing another full one. That store had 2 enormous semi-trailers every day delivering only poinsettias already packed onto the pallets. I was running the whole day. It was fun; my friends called me the poinsettia queen.
Thats actually amazing, and like you said, fantastic business acumen. Sending your employees to school can only benefit you if they're loyal bc you pay them a decent wage and treat them well ❤
Last Saturday I stopped in at my local Costco to pick up some bulk items for a 4th of July party we are having in a couple of days. Before leaving I stopped at the food court and purchased a hot dog and drink ($1.50) a slice of pizza ($1.99) and a whole pepperoni pizza (6 slices of the same size they showed on the video - $9.99) Before heading home I got a tank full of gas ($2.86 per gallon which is around .80 per liter). I love Costco but not for everyday shopping - only for those things that I need in great quantity like coffee!
'Kirkland' is a brand. their HQ started in Kirkland, Washington, then they moved to their current location in Issaquah, Washington, an eastern suburb of Seattle. because of this they named their store brand 'Kirkland' and they buy wholesale from manufactures and slap their store label on it and sell it with their normal minimum mark up. so it's usually the same quality of name brand products but cheaper. they sell a VAST range of products from foods to household items.
Costo and Sam's Club are warehouse clubs that you pay an annual membership to be part of. They are competitive with each other, and they have everything from aspirin to food/groceries to furniture to large screen TV's to auto service like tire service. They have concession stands that you can stop and eat something as you'll see. It's bulk shopping at its best
We use Sam's Club pharmacy (diabetic) and also go there for all our vaccinations. Perfect fruit and vegetables. Those 4,99 whole rotisserie chickens can't be beat and we love the bakery. Pretty nice fine jewelry dept also. Nice seasonal products
Macarons are a French sandwich cookie. The top and bottom cookie part is like a baked marshmallow that have a crispy crust but it’s got a little bit of the gooey texture inside with either a jam or buttercream filling. Absolutely delicious but ducking hard to make yourself. EDIT: They use almond flour so they are also more of an almond cookie.
@@Lynn-kh5rs yep, it just has the texture of marshmallow to me. The meringue is what makes them soooo difficult to make. You have to fold in the superfine almond flour without losing the fluffy meringue too much. Then you also have to bake them at two different temperatures. I’ve only tried making them once and while they were ok it wasn’t good lol
Yes, the "Jersey" they're talking about isn't the state of New Jersey. It's an island in the English Channel, which New Jersey is named after. There's also a breed of cows called "Jerseys", which are named for the island.
Nobody pays the theoretical retail price for that stuff. Moderately expensive places that want you to *think* they're budget friendly (e.g., Kohl's) put that price on the tag so they can have perpetual 30% off sales and still turn a tidy profit. Places that are actually budget-friendly, sell it for less than that "sales price" even when they're not having a sale. (And even then, at least half of what you're paying is for the logo. If you can't find a polo shirt for less than $15 you aren't trying.)
@@jonadabtheunsightlyits not about the polo style though, its about the brand. Which you wont find for that cheap anywhere else, I'd assume, just based off actual retail prices.
Costco is what is called a "warehouse" or "big box" store. You have to pay annual membership to shop there. A similar store is Sam's Wholesale Club, owned by WalMart. In general, variety of a particular thing is limited, but at Costco, quality is usually pretty good; not the top thing on the market, but mid-level or higher quality. (Sam's tends to have a bit cheaper quaility.) When I was shopping for a household of 4, I shopped at Costco almost exclusively. Now that I am a household of 1, I still shop there, but less often. For example, the beef cut I buy usually comes in packages of 4 to 5 pounds or more. I I bring it home and immediately freeze most of it in 1- or 2-serving packs. I try to keep my serving sizes between 4 and 6 oz, so 4 lbs of steak is about 16 servings. :)
I lived in Alaska for 20 years, and the Costco there sold reindeer dogs at the deli. Same $1.50 price with a drink, spicy and delicious. They sell the exact same dogs in the store in 18-packs.
It is a wholesale warehouse. You have to pay for an annual membership to even shop there. You can get a lot of groceries in large bulk but you wouldn't shop there just for your weekly shop
In the south my favorite weekly shop is Publix. Their deli subs are the 💣!!! So the other wholesale store is Sam’s Club here in America. I’ve been a Sam’s Club member for over 20 years, it’s exactly like Costco but its parent company is Walmart. A Sam’s Club membership is $99/year, we recently got a Costco near me so I went to check it out & they wouldn’t even give me a day pass to look around & their membership is $150/year. 😉 I will often go to Sam’s just for lunch!! My Nana loved their hot dogs & it was a hot spot for she & I to visit. A hot dog deal (which includes a VERY large drink, free refills too) is only $1.25!!! ❤❤❤ I think the pizza is the same no matter what you get on the pizza it’s still only $1.25 & includes the drink. 😂❤❤❤
I've been doing my weekly shopping at Costco since the late 90s. I've got a large freezer and a fridge/freezer where something needs to be restocked every week. The $5.00 whole rotisserie chicken is a must.
Yeah, I agree with you. I just went recently and spent just under $400. I try to avoid all snacks and such and stick to basics like milk, butter, eggs, flour, sugar. But their premade dinners and lunches always get me! This last time I bought a pack of 12 croissants for $6.. I don’t regret that one bit!
3:51 that's not a t-shirt. It's a Nike polo style shirt. They sell for around $42-$50 at most places. Right now they are $50 at Kohls department stores here in the US.
The hotdog combo price hasn't changed since sometime in the 1980s. When costs were getting high enough that they were going to have to raise the prices, they built two processing plants to become their own supplier. Same thing happened with their rotisserie chickens. The market prices got higher than they could sell for their price, so they started raising their own chickens. There are videos on their business plan that explains how they operate.
The Costco return policy is also legendary. You can return stuff years after purchase, once when I was in there doing something at customer service, another customer was returning all the unopened booze left from a wedding. (not sure how they had so much left... if they just bought out the store, or ifjust weren't big drinkers, but whatever)
I get all my gasoline and do most of my shopping at Costco - the exception being fresh fruit and vegetables. We are only a two person household so we can't get through the produce before it goes bad. However, it has great deals on many things. 20 pound bag of jasmine rice for $17, for example. For other things, it's the quality that I can't find in my neighbohood grocery store. My favorite coffee, while more expensive than other coffee in the stores, is way less expensive than finding the one I like online. We also got our patio set, washer and dryer, beverage refrigerator, a couple of floor lamps, a buffet, a dining room table and chairs for 8, a couple of computers for our business, plant pots, potting soil, plants for my garden, and dog treats and toys. And a whole lot of alcohol - the Kirkland brands are typically very good. The clothing is hit or miss, there's no where to try things on but they have an excellent return policy. And you can't discount the enjoyment factor of a good treasure hunt - you never know what you're going to find.
Exactly. I can't wait for him to come to Vegas for his friend's wedding; we've actually put together a list of spots for him to get his grub on, all OFF STRIP (those placed are wallet raiders). Full Western breakfast for 11.99, with 12 oz. Chicken Fried Steak or 12 oz. Ham Steak, 3 Eggs, biscuits and gravy, 4 sausage or bacon, and either shredded hashbrowns or homestyle diced potatoes.😊
when you checkout, you have to have your membership card for the machine. that's why they can't buy stuff. but usually you can get a temporary card called a 'day pass' that is active for that day only. this is sort of a 'test drive' for the store to attract new members. I don't know why they couldn't get one, they don't explain, but all the stores do it. so it's really good for visitors (from other countries) BUT you don't need the card to buy from the food court. and they won't kick you out for not having a card, the door greeter will just direct you to the customer service desk.
Costco requires a membership to shop there. You can basically get anything there. The annual membership fee is $60.00. I personally don’t shop there as I live alone and buying food in bulk would be a waste for me. And who has room for that much toilet paper! They do have good hot dogs!
Costco has great deals but for most things, you have to buy in bulk and if you are a single person or don't have a lot of storage in your home, that's a problem. Most people don't do regular grocery shopping there but will pick up some grocery items when they go. Neighbors often get together to make a Costco run and then split up what was purchased so they don't have so much to store. Costco is a massive warehouse that has just about everything you could want, as well as services such as travel, Optometry, Audiology, pharmacy, automotive, etc. and a food court with dirt cheap prices. There are different levels of membership, the cheapest right now is $60.00.
I have a membership ($55 per year) to a competitor of Costco, the unfortunately named "BJ's Wholesale Club." BJ's has stores in the eastern U.S. only. For groceries, their prices are about two-thirds of those at supermarkets/grocery stores. The trade-offs for lower prices are less variety and buying in bulk.
Costco is the same price basically. Its $60 for the basic membership I paid $120 for executive. With the $120 I get a percentage of everything I spend back at the end of the year. So it basically covers the price difference. We have Sam's here too I used to be a member at both but I like Costco better so I dropped Sam's. They are building a BJ's here now too not sure when its supposed to open. Never been to one but can't imagine its really much different than the others.
@@JesseLJohnson BJ's also has a "premium" tier, or whatever they call it, that works the same way. I don't know anyone who shops at Costco, since we don't have any here in Rhode Island. The nearest one is 45 minutes away without traffic in Massachusetts. We had Sam's Club but no longer; the closest is even farther away. As an experiment, BJ's opened a first-of-its-kind "Market" mini-store just 5 minutes away from me. It's smaller than my supermarket and almost all of what they sell is what you'd find at a supermarket (no patio furniture, TVs, clothing, tires, etc.) I think it's great and hope they open more of them. Obviously, some things are not sold at this smaller store, so I still make the occasional trip to the regular store that's a longer drive. In 2010, I spent 2 weeks on Kauai, in Hawai'i, a once-in-a-lifetime trip. We bought a one-year membership at Costco just to do one large grocery shopping. It was cheaper than the other options (I remember paying more than $6 for a half-gallon of milk at the convenience store near the resort). That Costco was at least double the size of a BJ's store.
Costco member here. Live where Costco started. You can buy a pack of 48 rolls of toilet paper for very cheap. After the United States decided to adjust the liquor laws, Costco got on board and now sells booze for a big mark down. The pumpkin pie is huge and phenomenal. The twenty packs of huge muffins is cheap. I just bought a 75” LG flat screen for about $450. Find one
They have a Costco in England but you have to be in a profession like a nurse, teacher, police etc, to have a membership or if your company supports it and can get you a membership. My brother works for DHL over there and has one through his company. But he said they don’t have half as much as what we have and their bulks are smaller.
There are three wholesale warehouse stores. Costco, Sam's Club (owned by Walmart) and BJ's. For all three, you need a membership card to shop there. Many things are in bulk. A basic membership is $60 a year.
Favorite store of all time. Quality jeans for $15. Quality jackets for $40. And quality sneakers for $20. Not to mention the bulk food and their food court. Best store ever
Costco is great if you buy 50 pound bags of rice , 12 packs of canned soup, 24 can cases of soda,48 roll packages of toilet paper, etc , etc .They do have good prices on reasonable sized packages of meat, cheese, and produce . Ours doesn't have a lunch counter. Costco also gives out cash rewards if you use your Costco credit card . We use ours to buy gas for the car and get 4% cash back on that
They probably could have asked any American in the store if they would temporarily adopt (sponsor) them for their one time visit by using their membership card at the register. Occasionally family members and friends will loan out their membership cards to each other. The cards just authorize the purchases to be scanned. Sometimes customer service will give a promotional day pass with a temporary membership card to entice a return trip. Shopping at Costco is typically a four week supply for the price of two. Bulk shopping is why our refrigerators and freezers are so large and versatile.
We get so much of our household things at Costco. Food and sundries, obviously, but we also buy indoor and outdoor furniture, electronics, tires, toys, prescription medications, clothes, books and even our eye exams. 😂
Costco has everything in bulk. You get your pajamas, televisions, books, games on one trip. Maybe groceries especially meats, crisps, cookies, cakes, and or furniture on another trip. Everything you can think of at Costco. It’s worth the membership. Also grab a coke and a slice of pizza. Fun to watch newbies walk in. It’s enormous! Bedding, towels, playgrounds and toys, snacks… on and on. Donut coffee is in all grocery stores here. 😊 What flavors do you like?
Sam's club is usually cheaper. But Costco has more high end merchandise. The Beasleys live in Jersey, Channel Islands. Costco membership is $60 per year.
Costco is awesome! $60 total for 2ppl for a yr. You can get a 40pk of eater fir $4.00, 20 rolls of ppr towels for $15.00, etc. They have food that you can't get in regular stores.
the $1.50 hotdog and drink are a staple at costco... the drink itself is $0.55 so that means the hotdog is only $0.95. and it comes with lots of free condiments and free refills... the condiments are ketchup, mustard (sometimes hot mustard), relish, and fresh chopped onions, and some places even have bbq sauce. AND they are out by the drink machines..... and the pizza slice is $2... also, you can get the whole 18 inch pizza for $10. sometimes when we're already out and on the way home and we don't feel like cooking when we get home, we'll just call ahead and order a pizza and pick it up on the way home....
These places require a membership card to shop in there. That's why they wanted to get a day pass. Costco, Sam's Club and BJ's Wholesale are wholesale warehouse stores. This is "buy in bulk" shopping so everything you see will be in larger/multi-packs than you'd get in Walmart even. Sam's club basic membership is $50 per year and the premium is $99. We don't have Costco near me so it's Sam's Club for me. Yes Costco has 29 locations in the UK. Glasgow and Edinburgh are the closest locations to where you are I think since there aren't any anywhere in Northern Ireland or elsewhere in Ireland. Membership for you there includes an online shopping only subscription of 15 GBP and a basic membership of 33 GBP per year. Don't know if shipping directly to you would be worth it. We get free shipping if we spend a certain amount. There are three other types of memberships available to you but all have a set of requirements to see if you qualify except the online shopping only. Anything you can buy in a grocery store or department store, you can get in these places. YES the food is that cheap in Costco and also in Sam's. I'm not sure if BJ's has a food court. When Jolly went to Costco, they showed the menu board with the pricing to confirm it is that cheap. A macaron is a French sandwich cookie made with almond flour, whipped egg whites, powdered and regular sugar and can have a buttercream, jam or ganache filling. He thought that maybe Costco UK wouldn't have as much but from what I understand, they do. They have one in New Zealand and the family did a vlog of it and looked just big and stocked as this one.
Sam's Club and BJ's are the same concept as Costco. They're all membership warehouse stores, where you buy in bulk to save money. So, you have a choice between the 3, they carry the same type of merchandise, and for a moderate membership fee, you can shop there for a year. My daughter went to Sam's last week and came home with a nice inflatable boat, with a Bimini top and oars (it can also be fitted with a trolling motor) for less than $300! We used it last weekend, and it is GREAT! VERY sturdy, and will seat 3 people. So, you'd be surprised at what you can find - and how little you'd pay - at these warehouse clubs! Costco membership is $60/year. Right now both Sam's & BJ's are running specials for $20.
My favorite Costco purchases? First place is the cases of Butter(scotch) Beer for $9.95 last holiday season-it was just as good as the Butterbeer you buy at the Harry Potter Parks, a 12 oz cup for the same price as the 12-bottle case😂 I love buying my GoPro cameras for my free diving trips at Costco(there is always a couple of updates between trips, so I need the latest model). I have a medium/large family, so it is a weekly grocery run for us, and fortunately, our Costco is a whole 8 kilometers from my house👍🏻. Come to Utah when you are here and we will show you Sundance(Robert Redford’s ski resort where he started the film festival) and I will let you use our Costco card to go wild, plus, I wouldn’t be surprised if Costco has the option for you to send your purchases to your home a’la Amazon mode.
There's a Costco in London now.You can even by caskets there at my local Costco the caskets are by the makeup department and mine has a ridiculously big alcohol section.
I love Costco! It is a yearly membership for $60. We buy mostly regular stuff there like toilet paper and paper towels in bulk. We also buy other stuff there when we see something fun. We have bought printers, computers, iPods, etc at a big discount.
In Jacksonville, FL, the pizza slice is $1.99. The hot dogs are always $1.50 w/ a drink. They're all beef as well. Just went on Sat w/ my b/f for lunch & it was $3.20 w/ tax for 2 hot dog specials. Very filling!
Costco member here - I live in a semi rural part of Colorado in the mountains. We head to Costco every other month or so to stock up on things in bulk. Stuff like peanut butter, frozen meat, chips, toilet paper, paper towels, etc. I know some folks who live so close to Costco it makes sense to go there for their weekly shopping but its an hour drive or so for us. We realistically don't even have to but we have had the membership for like...20 years so why not? If you want to buy something in bulk Costco is just outright cheaper. And Costco's brand Kirkland is actually very very good.
if you are in the Northeast of the US, the absolute best grocery store chain is Wegmans. Mostly New York (western) and the northeast, but hands down the best anyplace i've traveled
In SW Louisiana, we don't have Costco. We do have Sam's Club though. Adam, you have to remember that the UK is an island, so things are going to be more expensive. You should see the prices in Hawaii.
Costco is a membership store, however you do get a rebate check at the end of your membership year. If you bought something expensive like a washer and dryer, refrigerator, etc your rebate check can be quite large. A regular membership is $60.00 per year and an executive membership isn$120.00. Even single people shop at Costco, if you have the storage space you can buy paper products; toilet tissue, facial tissue, paper towels, etc, also personal care items; toothpaste, shampoo, soap, etc. Many of their store brand items (Kirkland) are actually made by big brand names, for instance batteries are made by Duracell. Their rotisserie roast chicken is an amazing $4.99 for a giant chicken, in the grocery store a smaller one is double the price. The food court items are really inexpensive, and they taste good. They also have excellent prices on big appliances, as well as small ones like vacuum cleaners, microwaves, etc. In Washington State they have a liquor department. Their gas prices are amazing, my savings on gas alone during the year probably covers my membership fee.
You have to be a paying member or buy a day pass. Costco is usually overkill or it is great for a large family. Buying a huge case of toilet paper for the first time is a religious experience.
They buy in bulk lots and pass the cost savings on to members. So most stock rotates heavily. They also have Kirkland branded products, but if you go in looking for a very specific item, you probably won't find that, but you'll likely find a similar alternative at a big cost savings. And it isn't just groceries. Eye and ear care, tires, prescription drugs, insurance pools, car sales at fleet pricing, vacation packages, full jeweler services, financial planning services, and referral discounts to professional services like auto mechanics, real estate agents, brokers, contractors, home cleaning services, etc. For some people they can save the $60/yr membership in the savings from a single month of prescriptions. The goods are problematic if you don't have lots of storage, a business, or a family, but there are lots of other membership benefits.
Costco always has cool stuff. So far, I've gotten a foosball table, an arcade machine that plays multiple different games, a couple outdoor Halloween decorations, some Amaryllis bulbs, patio furniture, etc.
There are other stores like Costco. There is Sam's Club, which is owned by Walmart and BJs. I actually belonged to 2 because of location and the difference in some products. But, while raising a family and extended family, we would buy and split up the large quantities. Some actually have great in-store bakeries, including cakes, cupcakes, breads etc.
Costco is what we call a warehouse store. It has a ton of different kinds of products. Many times you have to buy in bulk, but obviously not for electronics and such. The rest to eat food is cheap because it's a loss leader, which means they may take a tiny loss or sell it at cost in order to draw people into the store, or to show them to eat a little bit of something so they are full and will continue to shop. Many grocery stores in the US have done similar things for years, even decades. You bring someone in for something that's cheap or offer a particular service and it means they will come to your establishment, spend more time, and most likely more money.
The chicken bake at the counter is delicious as well. It's basically chicken, cheese, sauce wrapped in a yummy dough that's crispy on the outside. It's $3.99 but is two meals for me. If you do ever visit a costco, try it, along with the pizza.
this is the costco membership near me. Costco offers two personal membership options: the Gold Star Membership for $65 per year and the Executive Membership for $130 per year. Additionally, there is a Business Membership available for $65 per year.
In addition to Costco and Sam's, BJ's is another wholesale club that operates mostly in the northeast US and Florida. Insert "insert" joke here, haha. On top of wholesale pricing, all three have store brands, which tend to be noticeably cheaper. OH, and the BJ's bakery department is dope. I can't speak for the other two.
Costco is great! You can find almost anything there. It's called the Costco treasure hunt. I often buy Costco delivered and get many of our groceries and other things that way. They carry everything from milk to fruits/veg to bread/bakery to deli goodies and meats. You really need an American sized fridge to hold the Costco big/cheaper groceries.
Been shopping Costco since they opened in Washington. You usually avg. $10-15 per item at check out unless something special. Online members can find many luxury items, electronics (tv, computer, phones), jewelry, vacations, cars, precious metal (gold), furniture, etc..
There are 29 Costcos in the UK, mostly in England. IF you have a friend who has a card, you can NOT use their card as they check the photo on it at the check out, but your friend CAN buy you a CASH CARD. That cash card allows you to enter the store and to buy things (even over the value of the card)... but once the card has no value, you can't keep using it. You can also go shopping with your friend, but the FRIEND has to pay for whatever they buy. Of course you can either pay your friend up front or reimburse them afterwards, but the MEMBER or Cash Card holder has to be the one who pays. Literally, if the husband has a membership and the wife tries to use his card, it's not allowed. A lot of their profit is in the membership. I have the executive membership and usually get more money back than the cost of the membership. Standard memberships do not get cash back at the end of your year. You can switch the level (eg: go from Standard to Executive) at ANY time at the membership/customer service desk.
I usually get a slice of pizza when I’m in Sam’s but I also get the whole pizza to cook at home but some ovens aren’t big enough for it! And you have to cook it directly on the rack because I’ve never seen a pizza pan big enough for it in any store
I live in Florida we have a Costco but its about 30min from me we have a Sam's club which is the same type of place with similar prices. Those are the same prices as Sam's for the food hotdog and soda (free refills) for $1.50 and the pizza is $1.50 they are very good. Well worth it. When my kids where little we could go just for lunch and only spend $10 - $15 for the 5 of us and thats with getting ice cream the kids could share a slice of pizza and have plenty. I do the majority of my shopping there. We do have some stores that are just grocery stores but even all of them at least have a pharmacy in them.
My ex and I owned a restaurant on eastern Long Island north fork. We had 3 kids, so buying in bulk was handy. I bought a 52" Aquos TV there, great price too.
I'm Canadian, and we have Costco too. $1.50 hotdogs with bottomless drinks. You don't need a membership for the food court!!! I pay $120 per year for the executive card but I get a cheque back from them yearly of approximately $300. It depends on how much you spend per year!!!
Costco, Sam's Club, BJ's warehouse, etc. They all have membership fees yearly. The NIKWE Polo shirts are usually up to $50 so those were a good deal. (pronounced NIGH KEY)
Some of our stores are huge. Costco and Sam's Club are membership stores and look similar inside. Wal-Mart and Target are also huge. All 4 stores I mentioned are buy most things stores.
You can literally buy any thing at Costco from home decorating furniture backyard decor and furniture, clothing, vitamins and protein powders and workout machines/ Weight sets sometimes Cars and trucks, camper trailers, your Dr is there medicine, eye dr, and then there is the Pallets of food everything in bulk and the meat department with rotisserie chicken for $7. Then the lunch counter the $1.50 hotdog and soda. EVERYTHING!!!!
A Costco I lived near had coffins for sale, like the impulse buy they are on the way out of the store. Right next to them were baby cribs. Cribs, coffins, and everything in between they sell it all there.
I bought a grand piano there and the price wasn't even that bad. my costco also advertises other businesses, so that's nice. There are free food samples. I also got my airpods for $50 less than even the next cheapest company. BTW, certain costco memberships will give you back some money to spend for future shopping. costco truly does have EVERYTHING.
You have to pay an annual membership to shop there but u can buy anything pretty much. Even a car or a vacation. But it's all pretty much in bulk so it's not all advisable. The rotisserie chicken is fantastic.
The Kirkland branded items are co-pack items. Kirkland coffee is rebranded Starbucks. The Kirkland booze is from major distilleries. All of the Kirkland foods are name brands with a different label. The Kirkland batteries are Duracell. The list goes on…all good buys if you shop wisely. The hot dog and soda for $1.50 is the second best deal in the store after the $4.99 roasted chicken. Neither of those prices have gone up in decades.
Adam, yes the food court in Costco is famous for their low prices. Membership is required unless you are getting your medicine at the pharmacy. Don't know if they still do it, but you used to be able to order certain new car brands.
There are 29 Costco's in the UK. 25 in England, 3 in Scotland and 1 on Wales. Hotdog and drink $1.50 with FREE refills and pizza also $1.50 no drink. I used to manage a pizza parlor and a large pepperoni pizza cost us less than 50 cents to make.
Hi Adam, I see my fellow cometators have answered your costco questions. We do our monthly shop once a month here in mexico and save a lot. Over there in the UK you also have the "too good to go" app where you can get food cheaply. AND you have Rogers Discount Warehouse in several locations in the UK where you can save from 60% - 90% and some things are FREE. All the Best Jim Mexico
Costco is membership-only. It used to be like $50 a year. I don't know how much it is now. They have their own in-house consumer products ratings system. So instead of carrying say all the different TV brands and models, they will only carry the top rated 4 brands/models, and because they buy in such large volume they are able to sell these items for the lowest prices. They are no frills warehouses. You can buy electronics, clothing. Mattresses. Fine jewelry and designer handbags. Appliances, books and cd's fresh produce, household stuff. Gifts, fresh Meats and fish and frozen foods in great variety, they have a pharmacy and optical departments. They have everything!
Its $60. The executive is $120. I have that. Pays for itself since I get a percentage back at the end of the year on my membership and more back on my Costco credit card as well.
In America there is a marketing term called "lost leaders". Companies like Costco offer numbeous insane bargains to get you to come in. They know that chances are you will spend a considerable amount if they get you in the door.
I've never been to Costco, but Sam's Club is basically the same (but it's attached to, and owned/operated by Walmart.) The biggest difference is that you can bring friends to Sam's if you're a member, and they can buy whatever they want as long as someone has a card to scan during checkout. Every time I go, I buy at least 100 lbs of rice ($30) so the shopping carts hate to see me.
Yes, a day pass, because Costco is a membership warehouse store for buying in bulk at a lower price (doesn't always mean you're getting a low price though). You pay for membership by the year. They have huge variety but most of it is in jumbo/bulk quantity.
Only cool cats follow pls🎉 www.twitch.tv/adamcouser
Closest thing to you would be Musgrave Market Place in Dublin.
Where's your email? I just checked Amazon UK, and you can get the donut flavored coffee. I was about to order, but don't have your PO Box, and can't find your addy in the description.

Don't forget the food samples. If you come at the right time you don't need to stop at the food court. Just fill up on the samples.
And the chicken is 4x bigger than other stores 😁
I always go in for milk and come away with a cart full and about $500 lighter! 😂
@@rhyannanhipkiss457 Me too 😁
They cook more chickens than they can sell. The leftovers go into their chicken rolls, pot pies, and the like 😋
The lunch counter doesn’t profit. It’s a loss leader. The hotdog and drink are $1.50 and the slice is another $1.50.
Their biggest losses are the rotisserie chickens. They've kept the price because it's a big draw. Their losses on chickens in 2022 were 2.5 Billion.
That is insane 😂
@@MoreAdamCouser and they’re really good too. The hot dog is pretty big and I love the pizza. You can buy a whole pizza for 10$
The food counter is the bait. 😅 🌭🍕🥤
The rotisserie chicken (whole rotisserie for 4.99)is a huge lose for them
FYI - Donut Coffee is a brand. The coffee is not donut flavored. It typically comes in breakfast blend, medium roast or dark roast.
Though that does exist as well
It's supposed to remind you of the coffee in a donut shop...which is all just the name brand stuff anyway...
When Trump gets back gas will be back down to $1.99 a gallon again

We too do a once a month run... It's a 60-mile round trip... It's so worth the membership fee!
I can get a whole pizza here in England for £ 1.99 .

There is also BJs they have a deli for fresh sliced lunch meat and cold salads, I belong to all three and they all offer something different.😊
The top & bottom cookie part is made of whipped egg whites & sugar. It is a type of méringue and is baked till the outside is crisp.
Love the Beesleys! They just did a U.S. trip.
I think they are from the Jersey Isle in the UK.
Yes, the "Jersey" they're talking about isn't the state of New Jersey. It's an island in the English Channel, which New Jersey is named after. There's also a breed of cows called "Jerseys", which are named for the island.
Under $30 for a Nike polo shirt is less than half regular retail.
Still horribly overpriced considering they only paid the kid that made it $1.50 a year.
(Sam's tends to have a bit cheaper quaility.)
When I was shopping for a household of 4, I shopped at Costco almost exclusively.
I will often go to Sam’s just for lunch!! 😂❤❤❤
We raised 5 kids (4 boys) we have a Sams Club not a Costco but we were there every 2 weeks.
Ive actually never been to a Costco! I had no idea they sell appliances too!

when you checkout, you have to have your membership card for the machine. that's why they can't buy stuff. but usually you can get a temporary card called a 'day pass' that is active for that day only. this is sort of a 'test drive' for the store to attract new members.
Gas. The cheaper gas is worth the membership
@@nicole06964 I don’t have a Costco close by so driving there to save a few bucks on gas wouldn’t make sense for me.
There are plenty of things there that you don't have to buy in bulk.
@@5stardave true but it's MOSTLY bulk buying.
Right now both Sam's & BJ's are running specials for $20.
for the drinks/juices... if it's a multi pack (2 or more) then the bottles are usually 64oz but if it's a single then it's usually 96oz.
My favorite Costco purchases? First place is the cases of Butter(scotch) Beer for $9.95 last holiday season-it was just as good as the Butterbeer you buy at the Harry Potter Parks, a 12 oz cup for the same price as the 12-bottle case😂
I love buying my GoPro cameras for my free diving trips at Costco(there is always a couple of updates between trips, so I need the latest model).
Facts
Costco and Sam's Club are Membership Warehouse Stores. In Phoenix we even have a Costco Business Center.
In the business world, that $3.00 meal is a Loss Leader, something to get you to come back.
Costco wholesale warehouse is the whole name, Walmart has a version of Costco called Sam's club... Both require memberships to offset the deals
Costco is wholesale membership club everything is larger size and you can literally buy anything there I Love it Adam 👍❤️
Costco has promise never to increase the price of the hot dog with a fountain drink at $1.50
Costco always has cool stuff. So far, I've gotten a foosball table, an arcade machine that plays multiple different games, a couple outdoor Halloween decorations, some Amaryllis bulbs, patio furniture, etc.
Love the Beasley's channel as well. Glad to see you found a vid of theirs
Costco is my favorite place to shop!
@MoreAdamCouser That box of donut coffee you spotted are kcups for a Keurig coffee maker. The Dunkin coffee displayed is ground coffee.
Pizza slice $1.50; Hot dog and soda $1.50 Total $3.00
Crazy 🤣
There are 29 Costcos in the UK, with store #30 under construction, according to Costco's website. There don't seem to be ANY in Ireland or N. Ireland.
It's good too! I commonly stop by just for a hot dog and ice cream sundae.
Gifts, fresh Meats and fish and frozen
foods in great variety, they have a pharmacy and optical departments.
It's "loss leaders". Items sold at a "loss" to bring in customers.
FYI, Adam, the Isle of Jersey is a British island located just a few miles off the coast of Normandy.
You can also buy caskets at Costcos. Along with gold bars and fine jewelry. It’s wild to me too and I am an American.
