I feel like the beter option is to take it apart and soak it in your home made stuff and scrub them with a wire brush. that way the corrosion will be gone for good.
You're absolutely correct! However, I didn't want to take this apart only because I'm not familiar with it. Once I get more comfortable with this device, I'll consider opening it up and giving it a proper cleaning.
