I just recently bought the new manfrotto 608 nitrotech fluid video head, it's fantastic. It works great with my DSLR and 500mm f4 prime lens. It has made my gimbal obsolete. It can hold up to 17lbs of rig in tilted position forward or backwards without you having to hold on to the gear, no fear of the gear tipping over.
@@AlKulla I saw another video for the same video head that you reviewed, and he said the head has lots of creep, and is not advisable to let go of your gear without tightening the knob. th-cam.com/video/lzNEiywD9es/w-d-xo.html My question is can you let go of your gear while it is tilted forward or backwards, I did not see you do any of this in your video. I made a short video clip of the manfrotto 608 nitrotech fluid video head on my cellphone, where I show how the counter balance system works on this head. th-cam.com/video/Fngk0SUnmBs/w-d-xo.html
I use its baby brother, MV500AH. Doesn't have that red adjustment ring that the 502 model has. Still alright & lighter for long hikes. It is a one for all solution. Replaces the ball head , & gimbal. Great for multi row panos , long lens, etc. if you do any of that type shooting.
thanks for the video, i would like to know if you turn off the lens stabilizer when mounted on the tripod........... i only do photography but it seems to me that this support for the lens is much better gimbal.
Hello Al, Interesting video, there are quite a few that use the Manfrotto 502AH and 500AH for landscapes and wildlife. Would you recommend the Gitzo 3-way fluid head to replace a ball head and a gimbal? Was asking because that Gitzo can rotate the camera to vertical position, when not using lenses with collars. Is the 502AH a better option than the Gitzo 3-way? BTW, I noticed the base of the 502AH is bigger than the base of the tripod, does that affect stability? Thanks in advance.
Hi! I use a Leofoto tripod. I bought it off of amazon and I have been really enjoying it! Here is a link to the video where I talk about it: th-cam.com/video/avjk044wuyk/w-d-xo.html
The benefit of a gimbal is that you can let go at any angle and the camera and lens will remain in exactly the same position; no tightening needed. Gimbals are much worse for video that fluid heads so that's usually the deciding factor.
Hi Al, I use the smaller version on a I-footage Gazelle tripod and really love it, much better for me than a gimbal. Subbed your channel, check mine out if you get five👍 Oh, forgot to say the I-footage has a bole style head so that you can level it instantly which is great for landscapes and footage👍
Hi Scott. Yes, the bowl style is nice to have. Might try to convert mine. Just subscribed to your channel. Looking forward to watching your videos. Thanks so much!!

Awesome! Yeah, I haven't had any issues with mine tipping or even coming close!

Nice! good to know, thanks!
Excellent video, thanks !
This is nice, I’ll have to check it out if I ever get tired of my manfrotto gimbal head
Great video and new sub, keep it coming!
Thanks for the video! What's the reason to put Arca Swiss plate on top of Manfrotto plate?
Why do you need all 4 of those plates? Replace the foot on the lense and be done with it no? Just curious...
Also check out the Sirui VH-10 x I have seen reviews that claim its better but beauty is in the eye of the owner
I’ll have to look into that. Thanks for watching!

No, I always leave it on for wildlife photography
Excellent video..👍🏼
Can you please recommend best compatible tripod for this head ?
New sub here. Great content brother
Thank you man!
What are the manufacturers and models of legs and tripods attached to the 502 head?
Thanks for this video - good review. What tripod are you using with the 502AH?
I was looking for a tripod system that I could use with my photo camera and cinema camera without having to two dedicated ones....I think this is it!
Yeah, I like it and don't have any complaints!
What trip do you have on looks sick!? Epic content btw
Thanks man! It's the Leofoto LS-325
@@AlKulla thanks bruh . Lol and i meant tripod lol👊🏾

Usable. But definitely there are much better alternatives for wildlife.
What kind of tripod is that? Will this head work with most tripods?
Hi! can i ask what tripod are u using? i´m buying new one and i don´t understand anything of tripods:D

@@AlKulla I purchased the Leofoto 324...pretty much the same but 4 sections. It's great.
@@tonytfuntek3262 Yeah I really like mine. Thanks for watching!
Glad I found the review on this head as I'm shopping for head and tripod. Choices are between the leofoto ls 324, 364 and 284

I like ifootage with the exception of the bright red everything...I like a low key look
wearing a hat indoors, is bad luck
what is wrong with you guys? where is the footage, less talk and more footage!! jaja an image worth a thousand words
It literally said tripod review, I think it was pretty clear.
