Paz was a legend.. in his own mind. On the other hand if Macho lacked the power of a real lefty on his left hand though he made up for it with a very stiff jab a right upper cut and his lefty stance and great mobility made him very awkward to fight.
Pazienza won the bouts he won due to loose rules enforcement by the referees. He was a dirty fighter who used illegally used his head, elbows, anything that worked on the street to damage his opponents. He was never a boxer, just a street kid who knew how never to stop swinging. He should have never been allowed to participate in the sport.
The most disgraceful moment was when paz beat Duran at age 90 years old and celebrated like was the champion of the world?? It was pathetic! Anyone in the crowd could have beat Duran! And paz thought he changed boxing history??? Lol

I never paid much attention to Pazienzas career, but judging from this video he was awesome. Much respect to Camacho's career and accomplishments. He was one of the greats. This was a good fight.
Don't know if you watched the fight yet, but Hector won, Paz was swinging wildly and missed most of his shots as Camacho was boxing and kept it cool. Still a nice fight even it was kinda sloppy, I love boxing.

It was annoying living in Providence at that time. Did they hype the crap out of Paz. Don't get me wrong, Vinnie had tons of heart...no doubt. And he was a standup guy around the club scene from the very few times we ran into him. I recall Vinnie buying shots at Barry's nightclub in Warwick. But as a boxing fan, he was over hyped locally. I liked him as a guy but couldn't get behind him as a boxer. But a stand up guy in my opinion.
