So I imagined a pioneer woman in Australia or America, when she said, "we have hot water and shower?!". You are super hero 10x over and won her heart. Good job! That shows you are concerned about her and her needs. You earned a billion "man points". Awesome, just awesome.
Started watching your channel about 5 or 6 years ago when you were stuck in Guatemala. Thought your journey was amazing, but figured it would take you years. Haven't kept up on the latest episodes, but here I am years later. Congrats on your engagement!~
The kombi is looking absolutely gorgeous! The shower/closet combo is pretty ingenious. I bet she's going to be a lot more comfortable than the last kombi when you hit the road, I hope all this hard work will definitely be worth it
It's so great to see you two back together again. The build looks fabulous! Thanks for all the hard work you put into preparing and presenting this to us. Get 'er Done!
Oeh, it's building time again😊 Nice to see a more detailled progress-video, impressive how you fitted all those boards together and construct a solid interior with it😀 Cheers to you guys being united again😊🎉
Going for super thin plywood to save on weight? Sometimes it might be better to go for the thicker option and place cut outs where-ever you can - removing material (and by that weight) and adding strengthened assemblies.
Everything is really coming together great guys. You are so lucky to have a lady that’s easy to please. I smiled from ear to ear when she saw the hot water heater. I hope you plan on beefing up the suspension and shocks a little. Lots of added weight. They do make a lift kit for a Kombi.
Great News and great progress. Have you checked the safety, mounting and operating instructions? As most of these instant propane water heaters are designed to be run on the outside of a van due to heat and exhaust gases!
Great to see you two reunited! Ben, great work on the cabinetry, but I have SERIOUS concerns about the water heater. I know you had a fire in your old Kombi, and frankly, I think you're potentially setting yourself up for a fire in Boomerang. The water heater you've bought is designed to be used outside. They vent heat, and carbon monoxide--neither of which you want in your van. The wood shelf above the heater exhaust is a fire hazard. Please, please, please, rig up an external mount for the water heater! It can be stored where you currently have it, when you're not using it. Just a concerned enthusiast, keep up the great work!
You can get an instant pop up camping room for a few dollars to make an instant private outdoor shower in case you need a shower and are located someplace without privacy. It can also be used for an instant private outdoor bathroom.
you guys are just awesome, pure inspiration, hope one day we'll meet in some awesome place , totally wanna shoot something with you and your gorgeous van 😍
Boomerang looks fantastic. Well done 👍💚🚐 So nice that you and Leah are able to finish the build together. The hot water reaction was brilliant ⭐ On with the exploring 😁 ♥️🇨🇦
Consider a garage in a box and a construction propane heater... Also with everything going on in the world today that you are about to travel through, a few more items to consider....a very good, easy to access climbing rope in case you get stuck in flash floods, also a small two-three person portable raft- it can be the blow up kind for same reason. A personal fire extinguisher that covers electrical located near primary exits (this isn't to put out engine fires (I know you have that covered) but to put out or reduce ANY fire enough that all of you can safely exit the vehicle.
Leah seems to be happier seeing the hot water heater than she did her engagement ring. Maybe you should have brought a bigger backpack and use it to propose to her? :D
I have to say when i started watching hasta alaska when i was finishing up highschool i had no idea how much effect your videos would have on how i view life and what kind of experiences i look for on this earth. Loved the first series and this one is off to a great start now. Happy travels from finnland :) hope i will get my chance to get on the road one day.
I'd be cautious of the water heater in the confined spaced. They work great but whilst it would likely be fine with rear hatch open for shower it would have far less ventilation should you use to wash dishes, etc. Love the vid and the build
Im so happy for you two im really proud of you and i wish you two on a amazing journey And we all love you and will give you all the support that we can give you :)
I've heard that this hot water heater can't be used in closed surfaces because there can be a problem with the unsealing gas. Another problem can be with the pressure of the water pump. Greetings from Poland.
Hi, found your channel recently and I’m really enjoying the content. Watching both your current series and your Pan American series. Regarding your current build and your comment about ventilation in cupboards. I would recommend you add some caravan insect vent covers to your apertures. This deter most unwanted visitors including rodents. In a caravan which is my experience, they are mainly in the floor. For larger apertures places like B&Q sell plastic vents or you could add some small stainless steel mesh. Cheers from John.
There’s no way you’ll be able to stand up in that wardrobe to have a comfortable shower😂. You’d be better off fitting a bath in the glovebox. Seriously Boomerang is looking great.
If you use lithium batteries I recommend they are in a fireproof box. If you charge lithium batteries while they are frozen they can catch fire. Which may explain the fire in Alaska if the solar panels were left connected to a lithium battery pack that froze.
Question about the roof braising issue you had, how or why did none of the experts pick up on this when it was being re-sprayed or or getting the new rubbers and motor fitted.. definitely looking forward to seeing the complete rebuild..
11:30 I know the feeling lol. I'm busy building my furniture in the van at the moment and it's that measure, cut, measure cut, measure, cut, ##### go buy a new piece of wood and start again.
Final Episode of Season 2 Next Week and then we are ON THE ROAD!

This show is sooo much better when these two are together. Otherwise, it's really sad. Love you two!
Hey you. Howd you get the vdub on your name..... Super jealous.

Best part - seeing Leah back!!! Second best - watching the progress on Boomerang.

Very nice to see the three of you back in the same place.
It's so great to see you two back together again.
The build looks fabulous!
Thanks for all the hard work you put into preparing and presenting this to us.
Get 'er Done!
What a smooth startup after sitting for so long. That's a seriously well built engine. Don't even think my subi swap could start that easily.
Love the simplicity y’all make me happy

Yes progress was much quicker with Leah to stop me procrastinating 😄
Leah's responses were so beautiful and genuine, wow, you guys are so special!
She is so beautiful! I can't wait to see her on the road touring! I'm so excited for the 3 of you!
The moment Alaska saw Leah again was everything!!! So excited Leah's back!

C'mon TH-cam. Get these guys to 500k! Been stuck at 498k for far too long!
right, what's up with that!
I feel your pain with fitting that sink. I have the same one and also made a template. great to see you both back together and so happy.

Yeah, I have a flue kit to exhaust through the roof with mine.

Your looking so much happier now your working together again.
You are a perfectionist. Just get it done somehow.
The way he said "Boomerang" was sooooo cute and heartwarming. 2:31

Killer progress and turnout so far of the kombi! You truly did an excellent job and it looks well laid out and thought out.
Great to see it all coming together, looking forward to some great footage, all the best and wishing you a safe journey.
The ending always get me wanting more. Till next Thursday 🤞

I really didn't want this episode to end.
Love all your videos. Cinematic editing always uplifting keep them coming
It was great seeing you travel to Malaysia, but it was also so weird seeing you travel without the Kombi. So glad you're back working on it
Propane instant hot water....and instant VW sauna heater.
.
.
Venting has, of course, been taken into consideration......
It also exhausts heat at the top, and there's a wood shelf in the way. Unless I missed something
Great to see you all together again! You both Light up when you are together! Thanks for sharing your journey! Love to you all! God bless from CT

I fucking love this series not enough people tuning in tho :(
...right?!
You are the master at cliff hangers
I dont need to see the whole video to know that I was going to like it, so I pressed like right away. I am that kinda guy :)
Thanks for supporting Kombi Life

Thanks for sharing your tips John.
You guys need to get a snowboard rack on the Kombi zombie and hit NORTHWEST.MT.Hood all the great 👍 places!
Love these kombi life videos!
Can’t always wait to be ready. Sometimes you just have to jump off the ledge.
I hope you are going to add a chimney to that gas heater and vent it to the outside... Also, a gas/monoxide detecter is essential
Wow you have done so well!!! It looks amazing 😍😍😍
Congratulations!!😄
Excited for the next episode. :)
you kombi is looking amazing
Can’t wait to see you guys back on the road! 👌🏽🍻
Home. Sweet home!
Awesome video, we live on our sailboat so it is very comparable! lol!

Thanks Paul - the Battle Born Batteries that we are installing are taking care of all those problems. Vid coming soon
"Leah cannot see the van in this mess"
*Leah edits video*
Leah: -_-
haha!
I was hoping soon mr. and mrs.kombi! 👌
I would have used window blocking wood as a base for a solar pannel. Would have had extra features in one solution.
Question about the roof braising issue you had, how or why did none of the experts pick up on this when it was being re-sprayed or or getting the new rubbers and motor fitted.. definitely looking forward to seeing the complete rebuild..
Well for a wile although it is very late, I'm watching your vlogs. You have technical drawing skills. What is your proficiency?
Great creativity! That bed tho, is wide enough for one person
My reaction when i saw the video notification, yesssssssssssss! :)

Love your videos keep up the good work
Have you considered video editing using Luna Fusion on an 11" iPad Pro? It's a small powerful solution.
3D printing some small plastic parts might work.We have a 3D printer at our library! :)
Keep up the good work
I wish I got a high top. I can’t find a roof anywhere and I would prefer one over a pop top
perfect again!
