Paris is awful. Go to the catacombs, go see the Eiffel tower, and then go directly to Versailles. The people are nicer, the food is better and it's WAY cleaner.
Yeah I've seen several comedians, podcasts, politicians, actors and musicians say the exact same thing about New York with the garbage and rats. Capitol cities generally are disgusting unless it's China.
@@OGDoe he said Paris is fine to visit, but lower your expectations and don't bother with a lengthy stay. According to him, the areas outside of the city were much nicer.
Anyone that wants to go to Paris, either go to the coutryside or the main attractions like the museums and the monuments. After that there plenty of other places in France that are beautiful I live in south of France and there plenty of good destinations around here. Monaco, Saint Tropez, Nice. Bordeaux is beautiful as well.
Sorry, 90% of the tourists in Paris are repeat visitors and they plan to go there again. That's how you become the most visited city on earth for years. Or how facts will always trump t olls on social media.
Nah. I’ve been lucky enough to experience it. Imagine New York, but greyer, with dirtier streets, the smell of smoke literally everywhere. There is no escape from it. Litter is everywhere. Honestly, if you want a bang for your buck, go to Amsterdam. Beautiful place.
Nah... He was on point. I went just to see it during a trip, zero expectations because the thought never really appealed to me; even with ultra-low expectations, it was a huge disappointment. It's disgusting. It's filled to the brim with shtty, awful people. It costs about $5 to breathe. It's the only major city to make LA look good in comparison.
Paris is amazing If youre a history buff or just a fan of arcitechture. I remember just walking down the streets randomly and seeing the most amazing buildings i have ever seen on every corner. The metro was dirty as hell tho.
@@burnesbaby everywhere brother. Paris is a fun city, with everything you can desire. If you take the time to speak to the people they will help you. Parisians can be hard to reach. Like in every major city in the world. But we are nice people tho

What this guy means is he couldnt find a thousand American food options France is renowned for there food . Everybody being dirty means people ain’t bougie even though the bourgeoisie started in France . Something I find really weird is almost almost every musician since the 1800s loved France. Plus Americans buy stuff from France religiously from from champagne wines designer cloths . I’ve always lived by when in Rome ! People go to other countries and want it to be just like home instead of checking out the other place’s culture

Never been to Paris but i imagine it might be the same underwhelming _(to put it VERY nicely),_ feeling I got when I visited the "Hollywood Walk of Fame" a while back. That area is dirty AF and no 'glamour' about it.
I wonder how much of that has to do with hype. I've lived in/near NY my whole life and there's a lot I like about it but I feel bad for anyone who comes here expecting it to be a magical experience lol.
@@mabeylane7163 all of it is hype tbh. You're right, there were a few good things about it, it's just that nobody prepares you for the bad ones that are a huge part of the package as well.
I love Paris 😂😂😂 The buildings were so beautiful and historical and I had some really good food there too! I also went in fall though so idk if it smells or not. I will say the Eiffel Tower was underwhelming IRL. They make it seem like it’s so massive in photos but it isn’t and in daylight it’s very plain looking. 😅
This makes sense to me. A guy I was friends with was from Paris and moved to the U.S. He asked me to go out with him romantically but I always thought he had BO so I kept politely saying no. One day in conversation he tells me that Americans ruin their skin by showering too much and using too much soap. 😂😂
My grandparents went to Paris back in the 70s. They said it reeked of urine. I love history and I read a travelers comments about Paris back from when he first visited the city in the Middle Ages. And he even said it reeked of piss as well as a few other things that partially quote Tyler’s description of Paris. Apparently it’s always been a shitty smells city. At least since Rome first had it
Yes you are so right! Base your opinions off other people's experience, stay home and do not travel the world, do not open your horizon, do not experience exquisit cuisine, architecture and history!! Yes, you are sooooo right!!!!
@giuseppinarestifo1093 don't get upset. It's probably an American that has never, ever traveled outside the US and who bases his/her opinions on what other people have said. I can't take these people seriously, you shouldn't either! Do you think someone from the US without travel experience would know what history, or historic buildings are? Nooooo...exactly!! Ignorance is a bliss, lol
The smell of Parisians in summer on the metros and trains, is something I'll never forget, i was in disbelief, the land of expensive perfumes, and home to top 10 of most renowned brands, but the local regular populus have no access to them, i had been to 24 countries across the world at that point and nothing prepared me for that, mind you i lived in south africa for two years, worked in angola for Chevron for 5 years, our American mindset would make us think this experiences are reserved for third world countries, now the south of france is very nice and pleasant, and folks smell little better
Yeah that’s sure , it’s their culture they have challenging relationship with soap and water and washing their clothes , they look nice from a far , but just stay there lolll it’s not only them many of the surrounding countries are the same , you hear bad things being said about poor countries all the time but this they keep under wraps, I was shocked myself that first world people are hygiene intolerant 😅never in my life had I experienced such things , at home even the mad people you see showering in the gully or rivers in the evenings. My French said it’s their cultures sooo it’s not just my experience, he admitted that it’s normal that people stinks even in the winter , actually it’s an everyday thing.
My grandpa went to Paris in the 60s and he said the whole city smelled of urine and he couldnt bear going into a smoke filled resturant were people used cups as ashtrays.
Wen it gets really hot and humid outside the piss in the streets turns to vapors and you can’t feel the thick piss air ur breathing 😂…. This is what I heard a cop say about downtown LA ….. so I will guess the same thing goes for Paris 😂

I’ll never understand how men used to have intercourse with women back in the day before there was better hygiene. I know that scent had to be kicking like Chuck Norris back then.
That depends on the individual. Overall that’s a European thing in general, because of the cost of hot water, electricity ..higher than in the US. They use the bidet. If the ppl you were around smelled, they prob weren’t washing their clothes frequently enough. I had some Spanish friends who wore outfits (shirts, pants) 3-4x sometimes more before washing
@indigonai1565 its not about the cost. Its about finding the balance between staying clean and keeping a healthy skin. Look up how much of your body is made up by bacterial cells and the importance of microbiome for your skin. It is different for every individual and activity level, but washing everyday with soap even if you have been sitting all day without sweating is overkill. It's the same as the approach to teeth: americans keep their teeth whiter and give more importance to aesthetics, while Europeans don't necessarily care about that but have healthier teeth overall.
FR. It doesn’t smell there though- not of sewage at least. But it is dirty and I don’t understand the appeal. Ppl be like, “everything is open late.” And?! I don’t go out and certainly not staying out late

Sad . Paris is a beautiful walking city. Beautiful parks and Museums and the architecture of the old city. The food is amazing. The street food is delicious and inexpensive. If you go with an American mindset you have a hard time but if you go to enjoy all that "The City of Lights" has to offer it is a blast.
Okay interesting! Finally someone saying they like it. Do you think people complaining about the food is just Americans wanting a hamburger because I could totally see that being an issue.
Not every non-American country is great and holds up to good living standard. It has nothing to do with “culture shock” bc we all know that we wouldnt be doing those things if we built are own. Out cultures are artifacts of past lineage, and that includes any adversity it had along the way.

Paris is awful. Go to the catacombs, go see the Eiffel tower, and then go directly to Versailles. The people are nicer, the food is better and it's WAY cleaner.

That depends on the individual. Overall that’s a European thing in general, because of the cost of hot water, electricity ..higher than in the US. They use the bidet.
