- Howdy! We've been doing some Boat Trailer Modifications on the new rig recently. In this video we Rust Proof it , install a Gangplank and a EZI Guide system. If you have a tinny of your own, these modifications are super easy to do on your own trailer and will improve your boating experience.

Hey Sammy, any chance of a update on the ezi guides now there adjusted. I’d love to see how they actually work and if they have held up. Really considering putting a set on the trailer.
Excellent video thankyou for the advise on the ezi guide installation specially when you said the back of the boat needs to sit on the ezi guide otherwise the boat will be trapped
I know this is 5 yrs old now - I was researching the ezi-guides - one thing that might have been a negative influence of moving your winch back 100mm (and therefor the boat too) would be that it would lighten your tongue-weight which might lead to instability on the highway.

Its a good idea rust proofing ya trailer i use fisholine spray or tectyl works well to but it probably isn't the best looking makes the trailer dirty brown colour good vid mate 👌
golden pineapple juice cheers mate! Yeah the Xtroll still looks half decent when it on there. But probably takes a bit longer to paint on rather than spray
Sammy, mate if you dont mind, where did you grab the rust proofing from and has it affected the look of the trailer at all, l have purchased a new quintrex trailer myself and would like to take this step to look after it. Cheers

Great idea the spring loaded guides at the rear, my 4.29 mtr tinny is on an oceanic trailer that has the cut out across the back in the middle that I have put a wobble roller on either side that guides the boat just like your spring loaded guides.
yeah mate they work a treat. very happy with them!
I adjusted my winch back 100mm and the trailer wouldn't tow. Got the wobbles because i changed to center of gravity, couldnt get over 30km/h Wouldn't mind a fix for that
I wonder if having the ezi guides mounted just behind where the boat ends is not a bad idea? That would lock the boat in for sure, and you just have to secure them in a down position for launching. Just a thought.....
Interesting one mate. Wonder how much of a pain it would be to get the boat back over them then when launching?
both easy guiges need to adjusted closer in with less gap between them

Great video! Was your retrieval at Weinam Creek? Bugger of a ramp for a solo launch / retrieve! A real shame because the rest of the facilities are top shelf. Thanks for the tips on the rust proofing and gangplank. :)

@@SammyHitzkeFishing You sure? 'Not much of an easy guide then' 😆 Would have scraped the metal side of the roller if not adjusted by hand.. Still a great product though if set up correctly I reckon. Thinking to get one, thanks for the video to see how it's supposed to work!

For starters, learn how to load your boat properly. You NEVER load the boat with the rollers or bunks out of the water. That is the best way to rip off the bow strap hook.
For starters, looks like it worked pretty well... 1.5yrs later and still haven't ripped off the bow strap hook!
When I was a kid my families boats and others were beached launched by rolling the boats off trailers onto inflatable tubes and rolled down to the water, retrieved the same and loaded onto a trailer out of the water, can’t recall ripping off any bow strap hooks, possibly testament to Aussie built boats.
