    Ali's first loss was to Frazier, Frazier's first loss was to Foreman, and Foreman's first loss was to Ali. If that doesn't tie the legacies of these legends even closer, I don't know what does.

      I had the privilege of being at that fight - and also at Ali's training camp. All the build-up was that Ali would keep dancing and would be too fast for Foremen. In fact he did just the opposite and simply soaked up all that Foreman could throw.
      When Ali hit Foreman and even sitting about 25 yards from the ring I could see the big splash of sweat spray.
      Just for the anecdote, I was working at a bank at the time and, a few months before, a delegation came in to the manager and asked him to provide $10m for financing the fight. He laughed them out of court. A few minutes later a squad of soldiers came in and carted him off to prison. It was the President himself, Mobutu, who wanted the bank financing and he didn't take kindly to being ridiculed.

Bc of inactive of almost 4 years ali lost his speed, reflection and dancing ability. Once Ali was knocked down by Henry coper but Ali won that fight by TKO and that time still he was not Cham. After Henry cuper fight Ali fought Sony liston and became Chap and that time begins Ali's prime. He was Cham at the age of 21 by beating Sony liston.

    We never saw a prime Ali as he lost his 3.5 best years when he was stripped of his title. Convicted murderers were allowed to work while waiting for the judicial process to be completed, but Ali was not allowed to fight or travel. The judge and the Boxing Authorities in the U.S. wanted to make an example of Ali though soon regretted it as 57 thousand American young men were killed in Vietnam and the American people began to protest and agree that Ali was right. Ali gave up the greatest sports title in the world, lost all of his wealth, risked a 10 year prison sentence, and all he had to do was put on a uniform and do boxing exhibitions overseas. Ali would not have anything to do with the war because he knew that blacks were being drafted 5-1 over white young Americans. Ali despised the fact that even though he was both an Olympic and Heavyweight champion, there were many restaurants that would not serve blacks, including himself. So, he gave it all up to stand up against sociopathic racists and a war that was all about money and using minorities to make the military contractors more wealthier than ever. Ali regained his title by beating big George and it took a total of SEVEN years to regain the Heavyweight Crown. When Ali was exiled from boxing he was just coming into his prime. When he returned to the ring, his legs lost their spring and his reflexes were slower. Every boxing pro knew it and that is why Ali had to come up with the rope a dope in this fight. He had to become a toe to toe fighter in many of his later fights and this took a great toll on his body.
    In his prime Ali was unbeatable because no one could catch him. Watch Ali vs Brian London. It was a 3 round fight and Ali threw 12 punches in 3.5 seconds. By the way, 2 hours after the Foreman fight was over, everyone with Ali was celebrating while Ali was showing a poor African child magic tricks. That is why he was, is, and always shall be the greatest of all time.
    I spent an hour with Ali and he had the heart of a child. Many people also do not know that Ali would allow homeless people to sleep in his living room. If you asked to see Ali at his home he would actually let you inside. I have never met a person that exuded such love. He loved every person of every race and was the ultimate gentleman.
    Does everyone remember how he went to Iraq to meet Sadaam Hussein to request that the hostages be set free? Many people forget that Ali brought several of them home with him. One of the hostages was quoted as saying. "An Angel dwelled within that giant body." Ali grew spiritually to the point that he exuded love and personified love. This is the ultimate accomplishment in life and why God put us on this planet. I look forward to seeing you in paradise Champ, but not yet.!

      No not really. George was young and naive and bought into the myth of Ali being better. He was defeated mentally before the match started. Also Ali had the ropes a little more loose to keep him from taking hits from George when he would be pushed against the ropes as is what made George corner opponents and made them vulnerable. A more mature and mentally stable George would have destroyed Ali even in his prime

    • @realdiamondshow
      @realdiamondshow 3 ปีที่แล้ว +55

      @@c.galindo9639 what utter drivel. How do you magically think a " more mature and mentally stable" version of Foreman....was going to be as fit and strong as the mid 20's George was? Once George actually WAS wiser...he was much older....You have an imaginary impossible version in your dumb head...just to suppose this never existing version beats Ali. Sad, and pathetic.....stick with the reality. Ali won..and deserved to..but, you need to imagine an impossible scenario where he loses??

    • @c.galindo9639
      @c.galindo9639 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@realdiamondshow yeah no. George won the Heavyweight title in his 40s so he was more better focused than his younger self and I also didn’t say him at his older age only if he was wiser. You decided to throw in age but to make it even. Foreman at the same age as Ali and wise like his older self would defeat Ali. You also didn’t know George Foreman well. When he fell he actually questioned himself if he should stay down. He wasn’t even in the full match. Also how he fought against others in holding himself together compared to how he looked against Ali. It was apparent he wasn’t mentally prepared to face Ali. Ali had fierce rivalries and demolished his opponents because he got too much into their heads. He is excellent at that. I give him props on that but if he relied on his skills alone without his mental tactics. He would have lost a little more than he did in his career. Do you even know fighting also requires mentality to better yourself if you have the skills. You can go so far with each but have both and you are more of a threat than relying on one alone. Calm down son.

    Ali's timing and strategy was crazy. Foreman hadn't gone past the 4th round since 1971.He dragged Big George to the deep end n drowned him. He would continously pop Foremans head back with lightning combinations. Completely threw off George's rhythm and ability to set up shots. He ended up swinging wildly hoping to connect. Also in every clintch Ali would either push George's head down or rake down his arms to drain his strength. After the 4th n 5th round he was done..Completely worn out both physically and mentally... what a masterclass...

    Remarkable. I never get tired of watching this. It was obvious on Ali's face that he knew it was only a matter of time, he was "almost" toying with Foreman for several rounds before the knockout.
    And Ali was chirping at George for the entire fight, which had to have had a real psychological effect on Foreman, as if he didn't already have enough on his plate dealing with Ali's strategy.

      @@godislove9273 Ali did NOT turn down a rematch with Foreman.
      Foreman didn't box for 12 months after Ali knocked him out, and he was never again ranked as the mandatory challenger to face Ali. In his last chance to earn the right to face Ali again, he was beaten on points by Jimmy Young, in 1977 - after which Foreman retired. Ali had already beaten Young, on points, in 1976.
