I love this opening. The animation is so appealing to me. The beginning is like opening a pop up book and being introduced to wonderfully colourful characters. Then later, bam. Everyone's fighting. That part was so well done, the build up was nice and the lyrics, top.

(Sorry to revive old post) Roughly the 1st half of season 1 (maybe even less) goes along with the manga and is "canon". After that it... derails. Thankfully Book of Circus happened to help get the anime back on track. This arc was really good.

I like yaoi. I like Black Butler. And I'm actually thankful that Black Butler is not a yaoi. And I'm actually thankful that the fanservice was toned down in this season to focus more on the dark moments. Besides the asthma attack, the yaoi fanservice is little so I am pleased.

This is still the best intro in the Black Butler series in my opinion. Everything, the animation, the storytelling, it's all captured so wonderfully in such a short animation. Maybe. Joker brings you into the circus at the beginning. All members are there. And at the end if we came out from the circus all corridors are empty and Sebastian end the show. The show isnt over if someone is alive. So we can say Sebastian is the devil who brings death to the members of the circus and end the show.
Every single opening in the series is amazing in its out way, but there's something about this on that really stands out and I have no idea what it is but it's been my favorite ever since I first saw it. Book of Circus, imo, has the best openings and endings out of them all!
kind of spoilers~ For anyone saying "Ciel is terrible and he shouldn't have killed the circus group" they need need to realize that Ciel did that because they were threatning his life. they went to his manor to attack them and the Phantomhive servants did what they were supposed to do which was kill any intruders. As for joker he knew what he did was wrong and I do know he felt bad but he helped kill multiple children and then tried to kill Ciel and as for doll...I do feel bad that she died but she also kidnapped many children and she could have stopped or said something but didn't. When Ciel laughed at the deaths of the circus group people are calling him a terrible person but they have to rember that Ciel went through traumatic things as a child and is broken. He cant cry anymore because he is so broken so he laughs. Also Ciel does regret killing killing the circus group at least a little bit (if you read the manga you will see it.) So please stop calling Ciel a stupid brat that deserves to die and all of the other terrible names. He is an amazing character with a terrible past that nobody could possibly think about having. He lost a lot so he blocks off his emotions and doesn't show weakness or kindness to anybody (except possibly lizzy) I'm sorry if this offends anybody but people have to stop blaming Ciel for everything.

i’ve noticed that ciel smiles more throughout each season and while this season was very dark i saw ciel smiling and laughing a lot more which made it very enjoyable

This is still the best intro in the Black Butler series in my opinion.
Everything, the animation, the storytelling, it's all captured so wonderfully in such a short animation.
And as another commenter said (Fawkes Pryde), "The beginning is like opening a pop up book and being introduced to wonderfully colourful characters. Then later, bam. Everyone's fighting."

Maybe. Joker brings you into the circus at the beginning. All members are there. And at the end if we came out from the circus all corridors are empty and Sebastian end the show. The show isnt over if someone is alive. So we can say Sebastian is the devil who brings death to the members of the circus and end the show.

This arc was one of the saddest. It has the full package of action, gore, betrayal, erotic, etc.
Every single opening in the series is amazing in its out way, but there's something about this on that really stands out and I have no idea what it is but it's been my favorite ever since I first saw it.
Book of Circus, imo, has the best openings and endings out of them all!

For anyone saying "Ciel is terrible and he shouldn't have killed the circus group" they need need to realize that Ciel did that because they were threatning his life. they went to his manor to attack them and the Phantomhive servants did what they were supposed to do which was kill any intruders. As for joker he knew what he did was wrong and I do know he felt bad but he helped kill multiple children and then tried to kill Ciel and as for doll...I do feel bad that she died but she also kidnapped many children and she could have stopped or said something but didn't. When Ciel laughed at the deaths of the circus group people are calling him a terrible person but they have to rember that Ciel went through traumatic things as a child and is broken. He cant cry anymore because he is so broken so he laughs. Also Ciel does regret killing killing the circus group at least a little bit (if you read the manga you will see it.) So please stop calling Ciel a stupid brat that deserves to die and all of the other terrible names. He is an amazing character with a terrible past that nobody could possibly think about having. He lost a lot so he blocks off his emotions and doesn't show weakness or kindness to anybody (except possibly lizzy) I'm sorry if this offends anybody but people have to stop blaming Ciel for everything.
CielPHANtomhive rocks YES he's not like this because he wants to his horrifying past got him he has ptsd, asthma and more problems on that. he is dark in the manga much darker but a amazing character with a horrible past!
