Glen loved to sing & he loved playing the guitar. His love for his craft shines thru his performances. One could tell he didn’t mind at all to d so big a song 100’s of times. And was a virtuoso on that guitar.

Big fan of Glen Campbell's. I especially like to see him and Roy Clark get together with their guitars. It's like magic!!
I grew up with a radio, falling in love with the studio versions of songs. I realize that they, sometimes, can be hard to reproduce live and there are many covers that are better than the original. I also realize that some reactors like to see the artist performing instead of a thumbnail. 😉 I'll be back. 👍

Wow this really brings back memories of watching the The Glen Campbell Hour. I think it was called. Our family never missed an episode and he always had some great guests. He had a very unique voice I will never forget. 🥰✌❤

Glenn Campell grows on you like champagne, He's so musically gifted, he can play anything, One of my favorite performances of his, is not country, but it blows my mind and I can't get enough of it. "Mull of Kintyre" A Paul McCartney. song. Glen is performing in Ireland, his voice and passion is spectacular, and then he takes it right over the moon...picks up a Bag Pipe and plays like a dream. "Glen Campell Live in Dublin" Another performance that I can watch over and over again, (not country) is his "Classical Gas' on guitar. He was a studio player starting out, ( legendary Wrecking Crew ) became a 'Beach Boy' for awhile, but he is country at the core, born and raised..

Please, please check out Glen's concert in Sioux Falls that was produced by PBS! His incredible talent is on display, but he's as humble as can be. He performs with the SD Symphony, which is something he was doing then around the country. He performed with symphonies that play his music while he totally crushes it on the guitar! And the bagpipes! I really think he was at the top of his game at this concert. Sure, he was older. But he's just so comfortable doing his thing. It's mesmerizing!!!

The pride of Delite Arkansas. He the triple threat playing singing and writing. He was having trouble getting this song played on the radio. Merle Haggard took thousands of his 45's and wrote a message asking the radio stations to play this song. It went completely through the roof. A lot of Merle's early songs had Glenn playing on them

You can never get enough of Glenn Campbell. Although I am not strictly a country music fan I have all of Glenn Campbell's albums I bought when they came out. His death was a tremendous loss to the music world.

I remember when this song got a lot of air play in the late 1960's both on Country and Pop AM Radio Stations. Thanks for posting the video! Glen Campbell had so much talent, it just flowed from his very being. His vocal phrasing is on the level with C/W singer/vocalist Patsy Cline (she is the best)! I don't say that lightly... his improv in this live performance is great, but it's different from the original recording, but yet diminishes nothing in the performance. His master use of guitar is off the charts, yet it looks as though it is effortless!

Glen Said goodbye before his passing while still able, with two incredible Albums. Ghost on the Canvas and appropriately, Adios! His 63rd and 64th albums. The man could do anything. His song, I'm not gonna miss you! His goodbye to his wife! The foretelling of his demise from Alzheimers. Left me speechless! Adios was released after his passing. Fabulous! RIP GLEN

Yes hugely talented. When Elvis was putting together his TCB band in the late 60s he asked around to see who the best guitar players were at the time. He was told that Glen Campbell and James Burton were. Glen was a star doing his own thing so Elvis took on Burton . Thanks for another classic PJ.

This is another great song that GC did that was written by Oklahoma's own Jimmy Webb. Notice how the protagonist of the song ends up in Oklahoma.
Glen does this live version with more of a funk type groove than the original studio version. Hadn't heard it before, thanks for posting.
Glen actually did quite a few demos of songs for Elvis in the 1960s, and an album of these songs was released not too long ago.

Thank you, reminds me there is a short clip of Waylon winning male vocalist of the year in 1975. He already wasn't in a good humor with the award shows. Glen Campbell was the host and he and Waylon were friends. What he says when Waylon left the stage was priceless. Especially for 1975 on the CMA awards.

To me the lyrics are elegant. It conveyed the end of a relationship. How the person that is leaving plays it over and over in their head. My only complaint is the guitar solo could have been a little longer. Great pick and reaction P. J.

Most of what Glen recorded had a strong pop flavor to it. This is a very Country sounding song, The Hand That Rocks The Cradle. A duet with Steve Warner. Glen did a lot of duets with a lot of different singes, but I thought the voices of these two blended well. th-cam.com/video/5xbGY48bNWo/w-d-xo.html

I’ve been sitting here trying to figure out which Glen Campbell tune you should do next. Try A Little Kindness, (on my mix right now; great guitar intro,) Where’s The Playground Susie, one every part of his voice’s range is not only showcased but celebrated all in one three-minute song, Rhinestone Cowboy, It’s Only Make Believe, albeit a Conway Twitty song, Glen stole it and that’s that… Country Boy, You’ve Got Your Feet In LA, a song that has rescued my soul while tangled up in those LA freeways more often than I can count. Naw, you may have to make a whole new page just to explore Glen Campbell fully. Hahahahaha!
