First off, why you rushing them? They're reversing for you, you can see they're not finding it easy, so stay back and give them space.
Secondly...YOU go in the space. You're on a bike and can easily nip in and out of there, as you did after complaining about it.
Were you expecting us all to take your side?? 😅

The passing place was on the car's side so they should have used it. Either they was just being a dick, lazy, useless or probably a bit of all three.

I lived in a village called Buckland Brewer. I don't think you would have made a tractor reverse on those lanes. You would end up with a flat bike.

Please he was not a cyclists he was on a motorbike. As most cyclists would have moved over for the car

There was actually nothing wrong with their reversing...and why didn't you move into the passing place on the right hand side straight away which is obviously what they were waiting for you to do? instead you made a big drama of it!

And why did you just assume that it was the motorist who needed to reverse?

I had a similar situation in a narrow Devon lane. I was coming down a very steep hill and came nose to nose with a 'lady' driving a Range Rover. She totally refused to reverse into a field gate entrance less than 10 yards behind her. I had to end up reversing almost 100 yards uphill to the next field gate. All I could smell was my clutch burning, didn't do it any favours. The 'lady' didn't even acknowledge me.

Should learn proper clutch control then.

You need patience and good will to drive along Devon lanes, or you could end up looking like an entitled twat. How about thanking the driver for reversing? It may not have been a perfect manoeuvre but a little give and take please!

Who was rushing? Every day event where we live. Someone who cannot reverse even when the pull in is right behind them. Makes a change from meeting some entitled big bird in a 4x4 though!

Just looked at this and there are two vehicles and the selfish one on the motorbike who could manoeuvre a lot easier just expecting the car to move for him. He obviously can't reverse or turn so should not be on the road

I would expe t that none of those people have ever ridden a motorbike, let alone taken a good look at one. We get a lot of these drivers here in dorset, many of them locals who just don't seem to understand how to use a passing place, and others who don't think it should be them who have to use it.

I live in Devon and have spent 45 years driving and motorcycling in lanes like that, it's not difficult if you drive sensibly and with patience. Yes you can easily turn even a large bike around in a lane like that, it's a bit of a faff but doable. But he didn't need to turn around, the car was reversing but absolutely no need to be a twat at the passing place he could easily have moved to the right to let the car past.
