Trent made some good records, but he was a scene-hopper. 242 made the EBM scene and their music is timeless. Trent is industrial for people who don’t really like industrial.

Hooking up the power, nothing but a good pair of welding gloves was the only thing between you and death. Good food & good times in the Detroit area a hundred years ago in another life.

@@Michael-df7di You are so right. Front 242 has so many accolades but also they created irony in electronic music and that seems to be overlooked. I think they have been pretty successful in USA considering how little marketing was helped by their labels.

heard FRONT 242 in the eighties and was thunderstrucked from this moment. Baught all venyl LPs and later same as CD. They we’re the pioneers of techno long before Elektro and Techno started. Since then I‘ve been a fan. Unbelievable it lasts almost 40 years! Only a few years ago (maybe 2017) I saw them in concert in the „Turbine“ in Oberhausen Germany.
I got a job writing DNA blogs for a DNA testing site. For some reason, this IS the soundtrack for that. I have tried chill step, the theme music from horror movies (Alien usually works), instrumental metal....nothing else.
Have to say....again..........this is a fucking damn awesome mix..........damn!!!!!!!!! Even better now.....that I heard the whole thing........have to say....that it SUPERSEDES the Depeche Mode mix I loved!!!!!! Nice job doing this....keep others coming...
The fun part is...We played alot of stuff underground and never really knew the actual artists or track names, they came to us from local raydio stations to spin, the were needle in grove vinyl and were played with dish soap water sprayed on, so the labels disintegrated, I.D. numbers meant nothing except vaguely memorized to reference what it might be
