Great show guys. Front 242 is one of those bands that comes only once in a lifetime.

Just found this interview! Thank you, being a teenager back in the early 80s, a family friend was a DJ in europe and sent me a cassette with Front 242 on it. I was hooked! Big fan of electronic music

The Front 242 origin story is inspiring to us, also coming for a small country with a small electronic music community (Singapore)

@@EBMZEQUENZERI've heard that before and it's very accurate, because it reminds me of what my father said to me when I asked him why The Beatles were so big: "because what they did was new, a new sound, no one did that before". That's exactly why "these are my beatles" referring to Front 242 is so accurate. You can talk about Kraftwerk, JM Jarre, etc, but this sound was something new, never done before.

@@The-Man-On-The-Mountain something happened in the 2000's when they went techno and everything they've made sucked, the old sound was replaced with modern shit noise ..... But then Birmingham 6 got his vox and 32Crash was formed and many guests' appearances emerged, JDM was always there for us

Watched the full interview. Really WELL DONE!
I am a huge fan of Front242 and have been to their concert in São Paulo taxol in the 90’s and it was Fantatsic! I live in Portland, OR USA nowadays and just noticed I missed their last tour in 2022…bummer! I hope they reconsider and come back for more concerts.
The interview was great, as I said, and loved hearing Front242 quickly mentioned my favorite band (Depeche Mode) and was hoping they would talk more abo it DM, as it was another band driving the genre, but more pop.
I wish you had mentioned Nitzer Ebb, which brings the same vibe.
Amazing video and interview! Made my day.

Have been a Front 242 fan for 36 years...since age 16. At that time, it was them, Nitzer Ebb, Psychic TV, Ministry, Revolting Cocks, etc. By time the crap called Nine Inch Nails came around I had already bathed in the waters of great Industrial. So, NIN sucked to me!

I was always asking if tracks like America is waiting and Mea Culpa from My life in the bush of ghosts were influential to Front 242 music. I think i got my answer. ;) Really cool interview.

They’re not. That’s why they are so good. They don’t fall into the usual scales modes and other highbrow conservatory educated folks out there. They design sounds and make songs.

They are not musicians, but their arrangements are as orchestral as any band in their music phylum. For example, who cannot imagine Masterhit being performed by a traditional orchestra? This was a very interesting interview but I could have listened to even more detail about their creative process.

EDM and electronica are NOT the same thing, so to say that Front 242 were the precursors to EDM is an aberration.
