- Young blind pianist wows Leeds train station and viewers on new Channel 4 show The Piano 🤯🥲
Lucy, 13, left judges Mika and Lang Lang speechless with her rendition of ‘Chopin's Opus 9 Number 1’ on the programme, presented by Claudia Winkleman.
The series sees members of the public take to the piano in train stations across the country.
Judges watch in secret and decide who should go on to perform at Royal Festival Hall in London.

There is no such thing as disability. It is just a redistribution of your abilities. She nailed it.
I watched the entire series and cried at the perfection in every episode. If you get the chance, you must watch it,(tissues at the ready).
This is miraculous! She's intuitive & the music flows through her.
But I wonder why she don't improvise, or compose? She's just copying a ready made piece here.

Actually the eyes are one of the last thing you need to play piano. Of course it helps, especially for learning, but being blind is not that big of a deal when it comes to playing the piano. Same for most instruments actually. Pianists remember pieces with muscle memory, so they can all play with their eyes closed very easely.
She sees much more than any sighted person. She sees the music in her Soul.

This young lady is amazing, She's shown the world she is not 'disabled' but has 'other abilities', She feels the music and those feelings flow through her hands...just incredible. We should never judge based on appearance

I teared up in seconds - this Nocturne gets me every time! But never have I heard it played so perfectly before, EXACTLY as Chopin intended it to be played... He meant for it to reach right into your chest and to pluck away at every heartstring with each and every single note until it bleeds! And this beautiful child has interpreted every nuance and inflection with total control and precision whilst making it appear effortless to her.... I am in awe. Her sense of rubato is especially extraordinary!

This was part of a show where Mica & Lang Lang listened to people playing pianos at train stations. They chose 4 to play at a concert in a theatre in London & Lucy was one of them. She played beautifully both times. I won't say what happens in case I spoil it for people who want to watch it on All4.
